You better gear up for another Universal Solider movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jean-Claude Van Damme (http://uk.stars.ign.com/objects/915/915566.html) and Dolph Lundgren (http://uk.stars.ign.com/objects/143/14342320.html) are set to reprise their series roles for Universal Soldier IV (http://uk.movies.ign.com/objects/074/074119.html). The duo last teamed-up for the 2009 threequel Universal Soldier: Regeneration (http://uk.movies.ign.com/objects/142/14296373.html).

That film's director, John Hyams, will also direct this installment in the sci-fi/action franchise for production company Foresight Unlimited.

The trade adds that the sequel will be in ... wait for it ... 3D, and that production is slated to commence in October.

I don't get it.

Universal Soldier - Theater release.
Universal Soldier II: Brothers in Arms - Straight to DVD, with no Dolph or Jean.
Universal Soldier III: Unfinished Business - Straight to DVD, with no Dolph or Jean.
Universal Soldier (IV): The Return - Theatrical Release with Jean, Goldberg, and Jai White.
Universal Soldier (V): Regeneration - Theatrical release in S.E. Asia and the Middle East. Straight to DVD everywhere else. Return of Dolph, with Jean.

I want to know how they:
A) Number the movies
B) Decide to release the movies

I also want to know what the hell they're thinking. The original is on par with TimeCop which is a classic.

Tussell, you have questionable taste in films.......

Timecop was a fucking awful film. Universal Soldier was good when I was like 15 or so years old cause it had Van D and Lundgren in it, but now looking back at the film... it's laughably shit. I haven't seen the sequals so I can't judge them but I can't imagine them being any good. Although the trailer for Regeneration looked 'ok'.

You've got to learn to just have fun with movies from the 80's. They're not going to be full of amazing cinematography, acting, special effects, dialogue, etc.

I appreciate the 'fun' movies from the 80's, but I think you'll find that Universal Soldier and Timecop were both from the 90's.

Universal Soldier - 1992
Timecop - 1994

80's action flicks to have fun with were classic films such as: Predator, Commando, Die Hard and anything by Steven Segal to name but a few.....

Heh, it was funny too, because I was going to say 90's, but something told me not to. Either way, they're very 80's-ish.
