It sounds like the Lost Planet (http://uk.movies.ign.com/objects/142/14264580.html) movie has become lost in development hell.

Screenwriter (and videogame veteran) David Hayter (http://uk.stars.ign.com/objects/913/913556.html) told MTV (http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2010/05/26/david-hayter-guest-blog-an-update-on-that-lost-planet-adaptation/) that he penned a few drafts of the screenplay adaptation of the Capcom (http://uk.games.ign.com/objects/025/025017.html) game, but that "internal issues" appear to have stalled the project.

"Lost Planet (http://uk.ps3.ign.com/objects/142/14211550.html) I thought was ideal [for a film adaptation] because it had this incredible visual world. Great suits of armor, great creatures, and its story was about energy—the dwindling energy resources of the Earth and how we're going to other planets to [solve that problem]," Hayter said. "So I thought it was really timely and the world was beautiful. And the other thing that I really felt as a screenwriter made it ideal for adaptation was, the original story in the game was ... not ... great."

Hayter has now moved on to other projects and doesn't know what the current status is of the Lost Planet film. "We had some internal issues between a couple of the companies, which I think has caused a delay there," he revealed.

Maybe the epic $150-200 million budget (http://uk.movies.ign.com/articles/947/947380p1.html) that Capcom said they wanted for the film made Warner Bros. skittish about the project. We shall see.

only way that movie would be good is if it will be in 3D, with alot of Akrid getting shot/blown up.

Is it going to be a strictly Asian cast?
