Iron Maiden just release a New Song Called El Dorado from their new unreleased album called The Final Frontier. It's free to downloaded from the IronMaiden.com website and I was wondering what people thought of the new song.

I think new song is awesome, and I can't wait for the The Final Frontier album to come out.

Not sure how I feel about the single. I mean, it's good, but not as good as I was hoping it would be. I also loathe the new Eddie. I'm sorry but he doesn't look like Eddie. In fact he looks like the Eddie from the Blaze Bayley era, which was supposed to be an Eddie that marked the end of an era for Iron Maiden with Dickinson's departure. To me, it's a bad omen for the full-length, but I'll still pick it up cause I'm a fan. \m/

It's a brilliant song. I love how after all of these years of making top-notch metal, they're still getting heavier!

I have to say that I love the new song. It did take me about three listens to fully appreciate it. A friend of mine was giving me his thoughts about it, saying that he thought it was a "dark" song. Honestly, that track is probably one of the most upbeat and light-hearted sounding tunes they've done since Holy Smoke from No Prayer For The Dying (love that album, too... don't tread). If this song is any indication of the rest of the album, then it's nice to say that they've stepped back from the more progressive and "darker" territory staked by A Matter of Life and Death (which, regardless of what one wants to admit, flirts with the style they bore for X Factor). Hell, the song even sounds like something Dickinson would have written solo. Maiden is always at the top of their game and it pleases me to know that these 50+ year old men still do it better than each successive wave of clones.

And to Fullmetalx07, I'll be at that show at the Garden, too. The setlist isn't phenomenal, but it will be nice to hear certain tunes I haven't heard yet live (that show will be my 16th time seeing them)
