Walt Disney Pictures announced today that The Greatest Muppet Movie of All Time (http://uk.movies.ign.com/objects/142/14240787.html) is scheduled for a Christmas Day release in 2011.

Jason Segel (http://uk.stars.ign.com/objects/910/910957.html) (How I Met Your Mother (http://uk.tv.ign.com/objects/826/826208.html), I Love You, Man (http://uk.movies.ign.com/objects/142/14223564.html)) has already written the script with his Forgetting Sarah Marshall (http://uk.movies.ign.com/objects/904/904509.html) director, Nicholas Stoller (http://uk.stars.ign.com/objects/142/14242698.html). Segel will also be starring as the lead in the film, with Flight of the Conchords (http://uk.tv.ign.com/objects/907/907078.html) co-creator James Bobin (http://uk.stars.ign.com/objects/911/911200.html) set to direct.

The Greatest Muppet Movie of All Time is the only film that is currently set for a Christmas Day release in 2011. Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn will release two days prior.
