View Full Version : Hardest CoD Campaign on Veteran

I'm not sure if anyone has posted this question but I want to know what everyone thinks is the hardest campaign to beat on Veteran in the CoD series. I've only beaten CoD2, WaW, and MW2 on Veteran and I'm planning on getting this game in a few days to give it a go. I also want to play the Multiplayer because MW2 sucks so much. So, your thoughts anyone? Thanks!

(BTW I'm sure most people are going to say the 1st CoD because you have to get health packs, but can we exclude that one?)

I might get slated for saying this but I think COD4 was the hardest on Veteran, or at least the last level 'No Fighting In The War Room' was sodding difficult lol Still an awesome game though mate definately worth going through :D

I must agree that "No Fighting in the War Room" is probably the hardest I've come across so far. Mind you my Call of Duty experience is pretty minimal.

i cant remember struggling massively on cod4, but i found waw really difficult with the frags surrounding you every 2 seconds. the mw2 campaign was easy compared to the previous 2 cod games. cant wait to be playing the black ops campaign! :)

I think that both COD4 and COD:WaW had missions that at times seemed impossible.

MW2 was just a dissapointment. I was playing it on veteran, going through the missions pretty quickly, then I noticed credits. I was thinking, "That's it?"

1. Cod Classic is probably the hardest.
2. Cod3
3. Cod4: Mw
4. Cod5: WaW
5. Cod2
6. Cod6: MW2.

In my opinion. :P 4,5, and 2 are pretty close together.

CoD3 apparently is the hardest, But when you start Mile High Club that might change your decision and your t.v.

Not taking Classic into consideration (Because i havnt played it) Imo it goes like this:

1) Cod 3.
2) Cod 2.
3) WaW.
4) Cod 4.
5) MW2.

Its a hard decision between Cod 4 and WaW but i think WaW is little harder because of the terrible grenade spams and getting the up hill in "Blowtorch and Corkscrew" (I think its called that) and taking out the Flak guns at the end of game are much harder levels than "No fighting in the war room", "Mile high club" is really easy, I personally dont see why players have so much trouble with it.

Without CoD3 and Classic my list is as follows:

1) WaW
2) CoD2
3) CoD4
4) MW2

I have to say, honestly, this game was pretty easy, I flew through the last 4 missions in less than 2 hours. I guess it was luck or something lol, and Mile High Club wasn't so hard, it's all about flashes =)

In my memory, Waw was much harder than MW. This was namely because of the "fake" difficulty in the game. There are less checkpoints and the grenades are insane, while getting shot by a turret standing 50 meters away from me through a cm hole in my cover because I had to move because of a grenade is just plain weak.

I think WaW was a lot cheaper. Some parts were just literally spamming smoke and hope for a checkpoint, such as the beginning of blowtorch and corkscrew.

People have said that MW would be just as cheap (I played the games in the order of WaW, MW2 to MW, btw) but I'd disagree with that. I loved the grenades, the rush of sprinting from cover to cover, fighting to survive etc. I've been the victim of poor checkpoints twice in the whole game, one of which was my own fault. By developing a strategy I were able to beat all levels with relative ease, especially for my first singleplayer run.

MW2 is just bad. Call me stupid, but I hate how the enemies don't respawn. It gives me an even bigger feeling of "just camp and you will win". I don't have a single moment of the game in my memory relating to the difficulty.

World at War without a shadow of a doubt. I've gotten through most of Modern Warfare's Veteran, I've completely finished Modern Warfare 2's campaign on Veteran... But WaW... *Cringes*. I played maybe... Like... Four? Levels of that on Veteran, and must've died about 100 times from the "Raining Grenades" cheat the enemy AI seems to have on ;] Haha.

the single player campaign on MW2 was very straightforward on Veteran compared to COD4. I too remember "No fighting in the War room", a serious test of anyones mental state !

For me COD 5 was a huge pain due to the epic ammount of grenade dodging but the hardest actual level was no fighting in the war room, I found mile high club 10x more easy.

Tready1993

1. CoD: WaW
2. CoD 2
3. CoD: Modern Warfare
4. CoD: Modern Warfare 2

I'm only halfway through WaW but it is easily the hardest one in my opinion, mainly because of the frags that frequently flying your way.

I haven't played CoD 3 and I've only played a demo for CoD classic so i can't really give my verdict on that.

I don't mean to sound too cocky but i found 'No Fighting in the War Room' pretty easy, the only thing i struggled on was 'Mile High Club'.

I agree with most people here, every game has it's moment.

WaW has grenade spams, CoD4 had some asshole levels.

I won't even play CoD3, it's annoying to play since there's no sprint button. My guy walks like he has a hernia in his butthole.

It was WaW for me. MW wasn't hard, until I got to Mile High Club.

The "new" CoD's in order of difficulty:

World at War
Call of Duty 4
Modern Warfare 2

WaW was an absolute pain in the ass, with the stupid unlimited enemies and crazy grenade spam.

World at war by far.

Still haven't completed it due to the infinite spawning enemies and neverending grenades.

Only played CoD3 a and 4.

I just finished the campaign on veteran at cod 4.

The worst part of the game at veteran its the mission Heat (http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Heat) when you have to get out of the farm and No Fighting In The War Room (http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/No_Fighting_In_The_War_Room) is complete BS.

In No fighting in the war room, I could restart the same part 45 times and finally get a random checkpoint while the 44 first attempt, while my character being at the same place, not unlocking any checkpoint, repeat that for 3 parts of that mission, after 4 hours, I finally got it.

Now gotta go work on Mile High End shitty achievements, I've heard its not that hard, just gotta use good flashbang, crouch while running and spray.

I've only played 3 CoD games for 360. MW2 (sucks) Cod4 and Cod5

CodWaW is by far the most difficult, just because burn em out and heart of the reich, each of those missions took at least 2 1/2 hours to beat :(

Cod4 wasnt so bad, I just beat veteran and mile high club today. I used a video on how to beat no fighting in the war room and got very lucky with getting a checkpoint every where i was supposed to. Mile High Club wasnt too bad I just got extremely lucky Lol. The key is patience though when playing on veteran. Breaking your controller or punching something means you have issues. LOL

MW2 Was a joke and was extremely easy. Plus a terrible game.

I think COD 4 is so hard on Veteran because you have to cross checkpoints...otherwise the enemy is spawning again and again...you can't camp and wait for them.

A heads up for those thinking on putting this game upon your account:
Easy 500 gamerscore, but the campaign is hard, with an emphasis on HARD.
Although it is not the most difficult of the CoD universe, this game plans on putting you through up to 20 hours of hell. And not to mention another 20 just for Mile High Club. So rent this game for 5 days, beat the first playthrough on Recruit, get ALL possible achievements except the Veteran-based ones, then start up F.N.G. From there, good bye says your conscience.

But Call of Duty: World at War's was alot harder than this game, just because of the stupid "You see the player, throw every grenade in your platoon's arsenal" tactic the enemy AI always used.

By the difficulty of ALL Call of Duty's:

1) Call of Duty: World at War - Grenades
2) Call of Duty - Health
3) Call of Duty 2 - Weapons
4) Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - MHC
5) Call of Duty 3 - Teammates = blind rat
6) Modern Warfare 2 - Special Ops

For me its between CoD4 and World at War. "No Fighting in the War Room" and Mile High Club were way hard, and the grenades in World at War were just ridiculous. The easiest is MW2 I think, I never had any problems going through it on veteran.

I have beaten every CoD on veteran except WaW. That by FAR is the hardest for me. There's just so many damn grenades! I got as far as I could on that and I finally gave up on it.

WaW is the hardest I've played on Veteran, I refuse to play it now, it's not just hard it's downright unfair.

MW2 was too easy on Veteran, and as long as you weren't stupid most levels only took a few tries max.

CoD4 was, imo, the perfect difficuty for a game. It wasn't too easy, but it wasn't so hard that you felt you were making no progress at all. Frustrating, yes, but I always felt that I was getting a bit further with each try and it was just a matter of time before I got to the next checkpoint. Even Mile High Club wasn't that bad, the enemies were always in the same places at the same time, just a case of remembering where and not messing up.

For me, it was WaW because of the grenade spam used in the game. I don't know how many times I was killed because of 20 grenades flying at me out of nowhere. If the grenades didn't get, the enemies did because I got flushed out of cover trying to get away from those damn grenades!

Out of the ones I've played definitely Call of Duty 3 is the hardest veteran, almost broke controller on the flak gun level cause the checkpoints were so far apart between really hard and frustrating shit in that level.

definetly cod3 or waw. Lack of sprint after being used to it in cod4 made cod3 annoying and the grenade spam in waw was shocking at times.

I'm doing Black Ops right now, and I'd say it's pretty tough. Treyarch just loves to implement those tricky areas of infinitely respawning enemies.

CoD 4 is next for me. I'm not sure why I didn't do it when it first came out, probably because the MP was so amazing when there were tons and tons of people on, and not mostly clans.

I did finish MW2 in one Mountain Dew fueled sitting though. I'd say it was pretty easy. The caves were pretty difficult until I found a strategy that was pretty good.

waw harder coz of grenades

This. COD4 was a cakewalk on veteran compared to W@W. W@W was a joke, it rained grenades from people who were nowhere near you. It was so awesome getting to a spot to shoot and seeing 8 or 9 grenade indicators surrounding you. I've played thru COD4 on vet many times on the PS3, now that I have an Xbox, and the XB version has achievements, I decided it'll be an easy 1000.

O Captain My Captain

waw harder coz of grenades

Agreed. That single-handedly made it the hardest of all the CODS. I HATED Blowtorch and Corkscrew because of this.

COD4 was the first one I did on Veteran, and it was a challenge, because of the many areas with infinite respawns.

Black Ops was OK, but the area where you have to knife and toss those three barrels took a lot of time to figure out (and a lot of years off my life).

Call of Duty 2 was a cakewalk except for the first American Mission.

MW2 Veteran was a complete joke. Done in a day.

I have not played CoD 3 or CoD 2, so i have no idea what they are like, but from the games i have:
1.Waw- just for the ridiculous amount of grenades that get thrown at you if you stop moving.
2.CoD4-Personally i didn't find "no fighting in the war room" that hard, but i definitely struggled with Mile high Club
3.Mw2-Was hardly a challenge

If i was to include black ops it would be in between CoD4 and Mw2, just like Mw2 it was hardly a challenge, but knifing the barrels on the hill was fairly difficult.
