I hope it comes out soon and I have heard a rumor about it being next week.

Will it cost MSP though? How much?

I heard also that it is free, but that does not seem right at all.

Most important for me is whether it has 'chievos.

I wan't to know people opinions out of interest and curiosity.

It has 0 achievements.

It consists of two characters

Maria and Julius

and a level 7 (may/should go to 12)

Is that a rumor or was it confirmed by konami?

Its confirmed by me and a lot of other people, their is video of the two characters online and on the Castlevania leader boards. Lots of people have the 2 Characters and the level (all three are individual files) and are running them on unsigned systems.

Well that just means the data is already in the game and the DLC is an unlock code.

This does not mean there are no achievements though, becuase they would come in via an update.

Each game is released with 12 'chievos at 200GS total. More is only added via DLC (update). DLC can add up to 9 with 150GS.

"Well that just means the data is already in the game and the DLC is an unlock code. "

That is not necesarrily correct, plus it does not mean with the dlc is released it will be set this way, and if their is an update for ahcievos the game would REQUIRE and update to use the new aditions

Sonic Adventures wil release with 250 GS so dont quote how much this in that is going to/will be for things change and its not like that is law

Their are NO achievements for the dlc, I am sorry.

If 'chievos are to be with the DLC, they will come via a patch (that is released with the DLC).

Also, unless the system changes SA could only ship with 200GS max w/ 50GS only via DLC.

Good point.

I also forgot to add "yes if it is cheap enough".

My bad.

I sent an email to Konami:

Dear Konami,

I don't know if achievements are to be released the DLC, but I hope they will be.

I have created a public poll on xbox360achievements that I strongly suggest you look into: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?p=3401825

Maybe if there are no achievements planned, you could delay the DLC whilst you add them?

Also; on a side note; alot of people have already hacked/modded thier game illegally to access the DLC early. If the DLC is not released soon at a reasonable price more and more people will follow suit.

I would personally buy the DLC even at the price of 1200MSP, but only if it had some good achievements.

Thanks, Hope to hear back soon.

How can so many people be so naive to actually confirm that there is no achievements for something that hasn't even been officially announced, never mind the fact that it's not out yet. Whether they are seperate files now doesn't mean that they will be when released and just because they are seperate files doesn't mean that there couldn't be an update giving castlevania more achievements.

Other than the leaked footage nothing has been released or said about Castlevania DLC so when it will come out and whether it will have achievements or not is unknown for now.

I sent an email to Konami:

I think MS decide on the price, and I'm pretty sure they won't charge the same price for DLC as the whole game. Also I don't care about more achievements, in case they decide on x amount of kills for the new level/s. 10,000 kills is already way too much even if you love playing this game like I do.

I don't like your options, so I'm not going to vote; because no matter what they charge and whether or not it has achievements (which apparently it doesn't) I will buy it. I love this game and any expansion to is priceless in my eyes.

I concur with conel. There is no way to know if achievements will be released with DLC unless Konami themselves confirm it or not, personally I don't think it will be likely as the game only came out a week ago, it would be odd if they started adding extra achievements so soon. Until I see a quote from Konami stating all the details, I'm just going to sit here and wait.

And, it is likely that the DLC is an unlock code with a couple of other bits and pieces. There is a screenshot somewhere (found it, here: http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/gamelife/2010/08/hodpack-660x495.jpg) clearly stating the file sizes for each character and level. The level is only 4mb, there is no way they could cram a whole level and a bunch of new enemy/boss sprites in that space. Plus how do you think people have had access to this DLC if it isn't already in the game?

There is still a possibility for achievements though, i'll quote myself from the other DLC thread.

"Digging around I found Julius' English sound files. Upon listening I noticed something interesting.

Julius saying the names of the playables characters, which also included "Richter!" "Yoko!" "Simon!" and what sounds like "Hammer!" are all voice clips along with all the known playable characters, including Maria. Taken from some Castlevania forums."

Source: http://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums...topic=2591.960 (http://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/index.php?topic=2591.960)

Obviously take this with a pinch of salt, but it is sounds like this guy has found the sound files for the dual crushes. It's entirely possible that this is legit too, as the DLC is reported to be around the 4mb mark, meaning all of these files are already in the game just waiting to be unlocked.

Another interesting link: http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2010/0...#ixzz0vq3sU08S (http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2010/08/castlevania-leaks/#ixzz0vq3sU08S)

I would have also voted for: "yes, don't care about the money or the achievements"

Will buy if its cheap - interesting achievements - fun new levels(notice levels not level)

If they pull that off count me in

I want to jump in here and just point out that an arcade game can have 150 extra points via dlc. Citing Magic the Gathering and soon to be Trials HD.

Also, let's not be so sure to say an arcade game can only ship with 200GS by quoting that article, because it also says an arcade game "ships" with 12 achievements and Perfect Dark shipped with 15 acheves for 200GS.

Not trying to fuel a fire or pick sides, just stating some facts.

If the guy can find sound files of the people already in game, such as Alucard, I would be more willing to believe that all these new characters (Richter, Yoko, Simon, etc.) will be added over time, if not already in game; however that would make me think that those characters would already be found in game files or, once again, the sound files of the regular characters saying those names.

Aye, like I said take it with a pinch of salt, for all I know the guy could be making this up. I'm just hoping that they do plan to release another three characters ontop of the already confirmed two.

I just found this read this on Konami's website about Castlevania HD
http://www.konami.com/imgs/header_gamedetails_features.gif

6 Player Online Co-Op - Explore and fight Dracula with up to 6 friends online or engage in Survival Mode and see who the last warrior standing is
Combo Attack System - Unleash devastating attacks by working with your partners to vanquish your foes
Play Through Classic Castlevania Worlds - Fight the forces of darkness through massive levels inspire by the worlds of Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclesia
Ghost mode - Share you adventure with friends by uploaded ghost data
Classic 2D Gaming - The fast paced side scrolling action and detailed 2D art push the classic Castlevania formula into the HD era
DLC Support - More character and levels will be created following the release of the game to continually challenge players in new fun ways

Notice there it says levels, however they left on the 's' in characters which makes me wonder about that, lol. But I copied and pasted it and here's the link too http://www.konami.com/games/cvhod/

What the heck? No "Yes if it isn't free and has no achievements?"

I'll get it either way. The game is awesome and deserves some DLC

I'll be buying any and all character/level DLC for this game. Price is not an issue, and of course I would prefer achievements. But my choice in the poll, if you had given it, would have been, "I'll buy this regardless of price or achievements."

Yep this is exactly what I wanted to say. Love this game combines classic castlevania with sotn style. Want more maps but would love more achievements.
