The new addon Retribution just was annonced on the Gamescon to appear beginning 2011. It was accounced to be a standalone addon exactly the same way as its predecessor.

So I wonder.. the gamerscore will probably rise to 3000? What do you think?

Spouse its possible given that chaos rising raised it to 2k.
Though not sure if they would give the go ahead to 3k for one game, as it sets a precedent for everything else. I'm sure its probably easier for GFLW achievements, as most pc would have a respectable amount of hd space but 3k games would mean more dlc and unless they bring out 500gb or bigger xbox hd's its not really feasible

I already found it strange that CR was "included" with the DoW2 listing. I thought MS had said the maximum was 1750, as per Halo 3 and Gears 2, and suddenly here comes a "standalone expansion" on PC, which is effectively a new game, and it adds 1k to an existing game!

If they follow the same thinking, DoW2 will be 3k with Retribution.

First thing i thought of when i read the news too.

3000 points for 1 game seems ridiculous, but after they set the precedent for chaos rising bot sure what else they can do.

The more I think about it, the more weird it seems.

Sure, sequels get a new listing.

So, why didn't SSF4's 1k get added on SF4?

Why didn't ODST's 1k get added to Halo 3?

Why didn't Armored Core 4A's 1k get added to AC4?

Or FEAR Files get added to FEAR 1?

It's a strange precedent. In a way, it makes sense, but then it should be across the board, just treat xpacs/standalone xpacs as DLC and add them to the existing game. And I would actually prefer for PC versions of 360 games to "add" to the 360 listing, instead of being separate. Would avoid having 2x Gears, 2x Batman AA, 2x Fallout 3, on our profiles, they would just be 2k instead.

Downloadable Content adds up to 750 gamerscore.

Dawn of War 2 Chaos Rising technically wasn't downloadable content as it is primarily disc based.

Still I think it would be amazing if it went up to 3000...

I wouldn't mind and hell I would go for every last achievement point there is.

Once I've finished the Chaos Rising campaign I need to get with the online achievements.

It probably will go to 3000. And i'm fine with that.

First of all I am really thrilled that they are continuing to support this game.

Secondly I do believe that they will add these new achievements (because surely there will be new achievements?) to the existing list. If they did this with Chaos Rising they will probably do the same again.

It will look a little funny with a 3000 points list though. Still it can't be helped if they want to have any sort of continuity.

Looking forward to this new chapter. :)

It makes sense to keep adding to the original list, if Chaos Rising counted as its own game it would need its own mulitplayer thus splitting the user base and making it shit to play multiplayer.

I wouldn't be against it but I'll get the expansion either way because I like the game. Realisticly I wouldn't see why it wouldn't.

If it is as big as Chaos Rising I thing there'll be 3k.

3000G all wrapped up into one bad ass game?...... Sounds sexy, can't wait to see what happens.

Well, if it's all a trick to get you to buy the expansion so that your completion percentage isn't wrecked, it'll work on me.

So if I read this right, this isn't an expansion it's more a stand alone game yeah? Wtf, why not just call it Dawn of War III?

damn you are right...
this means, Dawn of War II will stay on 2000 Gamerscore with no further addition. It is confirmed that Retribution will be a complete standalone with Steam achievements (thus normally meaning: no GfWL achievements). They are turning their back on GfWL supposely because people found it troublesome, to log in to Steam and GfWL. What a shame...

While it is impossible to tell, I think I heard there would be some base building and what not, so it will be much closer to the first game, which was pretty spectacular.

I hope they do make it 3000. All of those who cried when it went to 2000 shall cry again!

Apparently you didn't read all the posts before? The game was canned for live, because the majority of the gamers that played DoW II over steam didn't understand the achievement feature - apparently they got complaints about this and therefor decided to make the new game a standalone without achievements.

Hm, I really don't get why people thought it was hard to log into GFWL? If this game turns out great I will get it but Steam-achievements have always felt like a cheap rip off to me (even though I have no clue whether they had them first?). I just can't seem to care about them at all. :(

A shame that this game leaves the list at 2000 points but as mentioned, if it turns out great I will still get it. :)

LIVE was the first achievement system around at least that tied it in to one profile... Steam Achievements are indeed lame but I think it's due to no point value to the achievements and no where does it show on your profile even your total achievements!

I've never understood peoples problem with LIVE I've never had any problems with it other then I can't seem to run xfire the first time I try to sign in but pretty sure that is some fault of xfire.

I know this post is old now, but a 3k gamerscore game would have been ridiculous.

Ashame I would have played it twice, now I'll just play the 360 version when I get around to it.
