When and where can I get it? For the first time ever I'm actually interested in the guitar for rock band. I already play real guitar so I've never had much interest but this would make for a great tool for learning new songs.

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about the ones with buttons and strings, the one in the pic/vid that is a real guitar with some sort of rb3 pick-up in it.

I've looked around but only found info on the plastic pro one, anyone have any details?

No release date or price has been set. Their goal is late 2010, but they've said it might spill over into early 2011. It's being made by Fender so HMX doesn't really have a lot of control over its release date.

Nice! thanks for the reply. I'm sure I'll stay busy with the keyboard until then, but hopefully the price isn't too outrageous.

Fresh news just revealed that it will now be coming out in the vague window of "early 2011."

It's based on a $250 guitar so it'll cost a bit more than that.

Cheers because it's based on a higher end (for Squier) model. Cries because it's gonna be pricey.

It's gonna be pretty sweet, although I won't be getting it D:
Just spent 300$ (which is i'm assuming what this will cost) on an Epi Les Paul Standard.

By the way, I like your username.
