Who else would think that a TV series done in the setting of Fallout 3, with the same kind of humour and themes would be great?

Obviously it would have to be a high age rating and have a pretty big budget, but I think it would be great.

What do you think?

The show Jericho kind of reminds me of Fallout. It isn't by any means the same thing, but it is kind of an "end of the world" situation.

If they did ever make a Fallout tv show or movie, I would definitely watch it.

It would be better than a movie. That way they could do side missions and allow for a main story.

I, for once, would definitely watch the show. Fallout 3 is my favorite game of all time.

I completely forgot about the Book of Eli. Same basic setting.

If it were based on just Fallout 1 and 2 I would be sold. The original two Fallouts would lend themselves better to a TV show as they had more flair and were genuinely funnier than Fallout 3.

Would be good to watch, if it was scripted properly and had a half decent cast.

Being a huge Fallout fan I'd watch a TV show and Movie: Fallout 3 was my favorite game, New Vegas will be my favorite game. I am getting New Vegas end of the month :woop:

And ya I watched Book of Eli too and it was as close to Fallout that you can get minus the mutants. Pretty awesome movie, the ending totally sucked though.

Bethesda destroyed the greatness that is Fallout... a TV show or movie I can only imagine would further ruin it.

I've never played anything prior to Fallout 3. Were the previous 2 really that much different and better?

Could work, the writing would have to be phenomenal though otherwise it would go wrong quickly.

I wouldn't say that but it was a bit overrated.

Why are people still complaining about Bethesda ruining Fallout? Fallout 3 is a great regardless if it's different than the original. I wouldn't want to play a point and click game on the 360 anyway.

Yes. 3 is just an oblivion clone, Fallout 1 and 2 are some of the best RPG's ever and completely different then that crap Bethesda came out with...you should definitely check them out sometime.

While I can't say I hate Fallout 3, I can say I enjoyed the first two much more.

As for a TV show, I'd kill to watch any incarnation of Fallout. 1, 2, 3, New Vegas (Tactics?).

In my opinion, yes. I liked the isometric turn-based RPG. It was nice. Then it got turned into Oblivion with Guns- Fallout3. While Fallout3 IS one of my favourite games, the first two are indefinately kept in a golden chest in my mind.

How can you be a huge fan if you haven't experienced what put Fallout on the map? You'll pick up on many more inside jokes and easter eggs in the current Fallouts and have a better understanding of the Fallout universe overall.

I wouldn't want a TV series, but definately a movie would be cool. Completely different from the games, but obviously involving the Vaults, and perhaps a G.E.C.K.. If you guys like post-apocalyptic movies, definately check out "The Road" starring Viggo Mortensen.

I think the creative team behind Stargate-SG1 could do a really good job with a TV series set in the Fallout Universe. There blend of humor with drama/action would be perfect for Fallout.

I have always wanted to see a show that combines a fallout setting with a shanty style western- deadwood style.

I would die for a Fallout 3 show...but it'd probably wind up on AMC or some other channel we basic cable subscribers would not receive.

I think it would be a terrific movie, but it needs to be directed by someone who is creative and experienced and has a good knowledge of the Fallout series.

You are not an option, Michael Bay.

I wouldn't want the show to be based on Fallout exactly but I would love to see an HBO post apocalyptic show.

Whilst I think HBO have produced the best shows to have ever aired in 'The Sopranos' & 'The Wire' + of course the amazing 'Entourage', they're recent shows look a little off if you as me. I thought 'Boardwalk Empire' was going to be more dramatic and less depth in story and the new show coming 'Game of Thrones' although looks good, I doubt it will have the credentials of the 3 first mentioned shows.

But as I said I wouldn't want the show to be based exactly on Fallout, they are games and should stay that way, films wouldn't be long enough and a TV series would be too long. A post apocalyptic show could be awesome though.

i cant see a movie working as the best thing about fallout is the length and depth in the game. even a lord of the rings type epic couldnt do it justice. how ever a tv series could as they could explore the world and people a lot more. maby some one like jj abrams producing we could see something awsome, just look at fringe and lost.

I think a TV show would work quite well, it could allow for side stories or different perspectives with ease.

Plus I'd love to see some of the work put into it to make it happen. Let alone things like the costume design and effects

Fallout tv show or miniseries would be cool. Of course they would have to create a new story. Or maybe multiple stories based in different areas that go back and forth to give it some visual diversity ( instead of just desert ) eventually to become intertwined. BigBear2Face is dead on. The people behind stargate sg 1 would rock at making a Fallout show.

ARRRGGGHHH! NOT HBO!! They are destroyers of tv mini-series. They killed Carnivale -Rome -Farscape (mid season mind you). Wouldn't be surprised if Boardwalk Empire gets like 2 seasons and dies somewhere by the roadside.

I'm not gonna get into the whole arguement of calling the OP stupid and state he knows nothing about TV/movies, but will say this obviously wasn't a well thought out idea. Sure it's nice to imagine things being made into T.V. shows or situations that wouldn't happen, being done in reality, but to entertain such thoughts, and actually commit to them, and say they are good, is a whole other animal entirely. There are so many factors why this wouldn't work, and for the sake of being concise, I will say this: Games and movies have very different reasons they are entertaining. That said, when have you known a movie or T.V. show to remain true to its roots? Like I said, they are entertaining for different reasons, meaning you piss off gamers with a screen adaption, or vice versa. That in mind, not that it is in any way similar, but I have never met a Dragonball fan that was pleased with any game ever made in conjunction with the series, because they never capture the essence of the show properly.

In conclusion, what I'm driving at is it's not a good idea by any stretch and as Snowwwwy said it wouldn't last.

I have to agree, The Road was a great movie that was similar-ish to fallout 3.

I could definitely see Fallout working as a TV show on a channel like Showtime or Starz. It wouldn't work on a network channel though. They'd have to scale back on the violence and dumb it down for the casual audience and it would just piss everyone off. But on Showtime, they could really show and expand on the storyline.

Making Fallout into a TV Sci-fi show hum…It could fly, you do have a frame work to bring in new actors each week for their bit spots in which you will have your small base cast you would see each week. You can risk killing off actors when you want to. You would need a vast number of extras. A good mix of storylines could carry the weekly ratings. There is also room for twist and plots mixing up every few weeks. Budget would be large but I could see this happening.

I think that would be really cool. Book of Eli was a great movie, but a T.V. show with it and a Fallout like-setting would allow tons of room for expansion and I would most definitely watch it.
