Just curious, Do you have or know of anybody who has a working 1st Gen 360? Or have they all Red Ringed? I got my first 360 on Launch day and it didn't even last a year.

I had mine for about 18 month and I don't know anyone which still has one.

Actually, my coworker does. He has an original. In fact the one he has does not even have a HDMI port on the back. He has to use the component cables with the "HDTV" switch on it.

This is me. Only red ringed once (trying to get the Senko-no-ronde achievement for playing 100 hrs....I got it in the middle of summer...left it on for 100 hours...about crapped myself when I came back from uni & it was red ringed. Left it off for a day and it worked fine :D)

I played it daily up until just a couple days ago when I got the Reach 360. It only freezes up once in awhile (maybe once every week or two....)

All in all, I am amazed that it's gone this long. I laugh in the face of all those who say it's impossible ;)

A friend of mine still has his launch xbox.

My launch xbox red ringed, so they replaced it. Then the replacement red ringed, so they sent me another...so the chances of the xbox they sent me being a launch xbox...Fairly likely, being Microsoft and all :P I'm pretty sure I was actually first out of my immediate friends to get the RROD.

I've had a "Slim" since they launched, love it so far.

I have a launch xbox. It only froze up on me once and i just restarted it and have had no problems with it since. I kind of want it to die so i can get a slim.... but i guess i can wait lol.

A friend of mine still has his Xbox 360 from launch.

My launch box red ringed in '08. I'm currently on my fourth, and hopefully last, 360.

Well I still had my original 360 from launch up until I traded it in and got the slim on launch day as well.

Never had any issue with the old one. But the first slim I got it was returned the same day due to a faulty power supply. The second one works great.

My console lasted almost 4 years from its original MFT date before it red-ringed. :(

Thats what I have :) It lasted over 2 years before the RROD. Since they repaired it, it lasted 3 months and then was replaced by a useless model... somehow still going.

I still have my original 360 from launch date :)

I hope when Gears of War 3 comes out they have their own slim model xbox.. That's when I plan on upgrading.

Still have mine from Oct 06, nio HDMI port and resets to 5th of November 2005 if you dont connect to XBL so could have been manufactured near launch. Never RRoD but froze up a few times and the disc drive is louder than most machinery I work around.

But upgraded to a Slim last month, so so SOOOOO quiet :D

I still have a working 1st gen system :) but you don't know me in real life :-p

I also should say my Xbox sat in my room for about a year and half never being played. so that might be one reason it's still alive. and i only play about 10 hours a week.. im sure if i was hardcore gamer it would have died long ago. :woop:

My Brother has one and it still works. Im working on my second one. funny thing is his has been used and abused by his kids, crayons jammed in usb ports, discs put in tray upside down. But it still works.

I got mine on launch day and it's still working now :) No problems whatsoever and no red rings... blatantly going to blow up when I switch it on in a minute now -.-... Only problem is that the controller frequently disconnects and reconnects itself but I don't know whether that's a problem with the Xbox or controller itself. Going to invest in a 250GB console after Christmas though.

Oh yeah if you have a launch day 360 then why do you not have more than 20k gamerscore? You should have had more gamerscore by now.

I wonder how many of the gamers that say on this thread that they have a working 1st 360 and they don`t they`re just saying they have a working 1st 360 for bragging rights?

Eh, that'd be pretty sad, don't you think?

These guys seem legit and it isn't really that much to brag about, lets be honest. I find it more interesting than 'impressive.'

On topic, I had a launch system but it died a few years back.

I've had 2 consoles since then. My current console, an elite; has been working fine for little over a year now, fingers crossed.

I`m having a hard time beliving you guys have a 1st gen 360 when most of you that are saying that have a first gen 360 don`t have more gamerscore than me.

One of the guys on my friend's list claims to have a launch 360. If so, I'm amazed, lol

I sold my day one machine to a friend when I got my Elite. No red ring so far (but she doesn't play it that much).

i've still got my launch 360, and a later arcade with the hdmi port, and one of the new style 250gig ones.

None of them have ever had RROD (although the lauch one has an intermittent fault on the cd drive) and i play them a lot. Also regularly leave them on for long periods of time (6-12hrs+) as i'm an rpg player.

Both my spare systems are currently on loan to friends while theirs are with MS for repairs.

Guess i've been lucky.

We have one of the first generation Elites and it works perfectly. Only problem I've experienced is the occasional freeze.

Do you mean it`ll freeze permently or it`ll freeze a little bit and then it`ll play just fine? My Xbox 360 Elite will freeze a little bit then it`ll play my games just fine.

It will VERY RARELY completely freeze up (guide button on controller won't even work) while playing a game forcing me to turn off the console. Works fine the next time you turn it on. Every console system or PC I have ever had dating back to the Intellivision has done this.

Had a launch day console for 3 years before I sold it to a friend. He later sold it back to Gamestop and it was still working. I'd like to think that it's still working :)
