Does anyone know if they are still working on this or not because i actually sent an E-mail to xbox.com saying it was pretty lame that the last update was in 2007 and got no reply (no i didnt word it to them calling them lame exactly lol) anyway since i sent 2 e-mails i think it was when you go to the xbox site and try click on the link for info on back dated games it doesnt work any more, you just hover over the link and its dead so maybe they have had a number of people asking not just my self and have started to work on more games cos come on 2007 its like almost 4 years since they have obviously done any work on it.

So just wondering if anyone here has hear anything if they are going to work on getting more of teh old xbox games working again :)

I hope so

As far as I know, M$ stopped patches for original xbox games in 2008. Cant' see them bothering wasting their time patching any more, especially seeing as thought they've closed the LIVE servers as well.

Best bet is to take the above advice and get a 2nd hand one :D

As the guy above said, the back-dating stopped in early 2008 because certain games were so difficult to emulate perfectly, and it took a lot of time and money that could be spent elsewhere (like Jet fuel to fly Bill Gates to McDonalds down the road)... hell a lot of those that are compatible are jumpy and glitchy as hell.

GameStop no longer takes in and sells Original Xbox game consoles.

Correct, they still sell the original xbox games but no longer carry the consoles.. Some stores might have 1 or 2 floating around.. But I checked my local gamestop about 5 months ago and they told me they no longer carry them, not even online(www.gamestop.com).

Anyways Amazon still has some starting at 50 bucks Amazon.com: Microsoft Xbox - Video Game Console: Video Games

but i'd always check out ebay you can probably find one for cheap.

On EBay most people will sell an original Xbox that comes with a few games like when I bought mine.
