I just killed a deathclass on very hard and got 10xp, i then reloaded my save and put it on very easy and got the same amount. Is it true you get the same amount xp no matter what? The thing i like about fallout 3 was the idea of more xp on higher difficulties. Now i feel there is no point to play on hard if its going to be the amount of experience points.

Thoughts?

Same xp no matter what difficulty. In one of the loading screens the hint in the top left said so.

Is the leveling faster than fallout 3 then?

Don't you have to do hardcore to 1000 the game though?

Hardcore is a setting, not a game difficulty. So I played on very easy with hardcore enabled and got the achievement.

Thought I'd add another question to the mix instead of starting a new thread. For those that are playing on hard to start, do you recommend it or do a second play through on hard?

I think I would enjoy the difficulties that hard mode creates but I hate dying and restarting all the time is why I ask...

That's kinda lame you get the same XP.

Is 'Very Easy' so easy that it's not even worth playing? I was going to do Hardcore Normal but since there are no achievements tied to completing the game on a difficulty settings and with no bump in XP, I might as well just do Hardcore Very Easy.

Same question as BizzyB.

Have you played Fallout 3 before and if so, how did you find that game? If your experienced with that one, while there are some differences here, its not really any more difficult in my opinion (though there are some things to be aware of, such as a bigger reliance on crafting, especially for hardcore mode).

If your new to the series altogether you will most likely find it more of a challenge. I especially wouldn't try hardcore mode and hard difficulty together for your first run if you are looking to avoid some frustration, it can be quite a bit to manage. Difficulty can however be changed as you play, and hardcore turned off as well, so try it out and see what you think.

you can change your difficulty anytime so just make it as tough or easy as u see fit, this never was a very intuitive game....can you imagine the horror of a first time fallout player with the first machine to set your skill level...what id what i do, oh crap better get a guide
i don't remember either i just took away from charm and gave a couple extra to agil...hope it comes back to me
