I entered my code for the Karma Power and got this:
Status code: 800700e8

Has this happened to anyone else?

I got that same error code 800700e8 since the game's midnight release and I entered it. *le sigh*

Upon investigation, this is a common problem for EA games in particular as well as some Halo games. However, all previous "fixes" did not work for me but I will post them in case they miraculously work for anyone reading this.

Essentially ensure that your Xbox has matched all of the following:
Billing info
Country
Language

Eg. Country UK, Language English, Billing XYZ, UK

I have checked, double-checked, quadruple-checked and all of mine match. I have, once again, gotten the same Xbox Live error message & code so I did contact both EA and Xbox Support (online of course & Twitter). I am sure my polite inquiries will be ignored as they usually are. So far Xbox Support on Twitter has ignored my 3 Twitter messages regarding this and they are following me on Twitter.

Finally, your code should have gone through. I am pretty sure of it. Watch the screen carefully right after you press the "Start" button to load/continue a game. You will see your game attempt to confirm a download of something before this really annoying error message pops up.

You are not alone.

OK so I am, as I type this, on Twitter with Xbox Support. But the respondent is not reading what I am saying, perhaps I have lapsed into Cantonese and did not realize it? :uzi:

So I am having to re-explain it all, as if to a small child whom has never seen a video game before. :mad:

Will keep you posted. Fingers crossed I get a response from this inept person(s) via Twitter.

Edit: After much running in circles, I have found out 2 things.
1. Microsoft Support are great politicians-passing the buck and talking in circles.
2. They are throwing me back to EA game which sent me to Xbox Support in the first place.

So back to square one for me-EA Support. Which will tell me, again, that this is a problem with Xbox and nothing they can do about it.

I am more than a little aggravated. Between this and Best Buy monkeying me over with my pre-order bonuses with Fable III.

I will go ahead and watch this thread in case anyone has any luck or I manage to get someone to help us whom does not drag their knuckles as they walk.

I was then notified due to the nature of my problem it is best to talk to Live Chat. So I clicked the Live Chat button. Then waited for about 15 minutes.

They want to know your e-mail account, Gamertag what the special power is and the actual code. I had to verify this a few times with Shane.

In addition to expedite things, be sure to tell them you contacted Xbox Support and EA Support and were bounced between them. It's not a lie if when you say "I" you are thinking of what I went through. It will save you hours and hours of aggro. (See how I suffer for my fellow gamers? ;) )

I will go ahead and give them the allotted 48 hours to correct this. :woop:

I get this code as well. Looks like Gamestop and/or EA screwed up royally with this pre-order bonus.

Wow. Andy actually thought the code was for songs? Yikes!

Well, for me this is redundant now as I have unlocked this power via mackin' on my boss. It would have been nice to have this already though and I am going to still pursue it.

my code also dosnt work but if i turn the game on it comes up with a download screen and then gives me the message so maybe they'll fix it so cause alot of ppl are having this problem

DO NOT PHONE XBOX! they will tell you to phone EA or go on their website like mentioned above. I am on the phone (on hold) and waiting on the website for customer support

I was haveing the same problem too and also with my fable 3 game well i found out that xbox was having some technical issues cause i got the same error code for both games

Apparently it isn't EA, but actually Xbox. They F**ked everything up! EA says that they will contact Xbox and ask them to make an update ASAP!

EA said ASAP so were looking at what 1-2 weeks till we see the update

It had better not be 1 to 2 weeks...I preordered this to get the bonus content for my girlfriend. She's already irritated, as am I, that this content isn't working.

I think you get this error because Xbox have not updated the dlc to there servers and thats why we are getting this error.

EA are crap.

No one will be able to activate them until its released in the UK. Try again tomorrow, and I can guarantee it'll work :)

Happens with most games pre-order codes.

Finally other people with the same prob as me! Yeah I have been trying since Tuesday morning. And like one of the previous entries, it does seem to want to try to download by showing the download screen (says NO REFUNDS etc) and then just fails.

Until today.

So I tried to play and it did not show the download attemp screen. I thought it was fixed so I entered an extra code that I had. I got a message that said something along the lines of Warning your saves are lost or something close to that. Then since I used the code the code is now invalid.

I got another code but I am waiting for someone else to have success before I use it. Hit me up on here or send message over LIVE if you get it to work please!!!!
