View Full Version : Very easy method to get 1.000.000 points. Best method ever!!

Hello!

In the game are two ways to get points:

- City Points
- Mission Points

People think that only count Mission Points but it's not truth. If you get 1.000.000 points in City Points, achievement unlocks. The achievement need 1.000.000 points in any mode, city or missions. The only ways to get the Achievement:

- 1.000.000 points in City Points get Achievement Unlocked.
- 1.000.000 points in Missions get Achievement Unlocked.
- 1.000.000 points total (City Points + Missions) DON'T GET Achievement unlocked.

Okey, let's see the method...

Go to the mark on the map:http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/Heroedeleyenda_1982/Mafia2_official_map.jpg

Do the same of this vid:
YouTube - Mafia 2 bug and Unlimited points Jimmy Vendeta :-)

Connect Charge and Play and come back in about 3-4h. You must have 1.000.000 points without effort and the achievement.

This method works for 1000 miles but need about 30h to get the achievement. Gas never run down with this method and miles count slowly. Good method if don't want to drive.

Hope that helps for anyone!

Yes, this still works as I did it overnight and have just checked my achievements and I now have it. I just drove at the window exactly as how the guy in the video does it and my car went flying through the window and through the floor so definately still works. Try chaning cars maybe you were driving one with a very low undercarriage or something.

Thanks very much as well Leyenda you just saved me a load of time and effort, because I really did give up with this game, I hated it before this DLC but this achievement for 1 million points made me hate it even more. So without this method there was no way I was ever going to get those points because I just couldnt play it.

It does not work for me. I can jump through the window and collect city points (up to 2.000.000), but the achievement does not unlock. I've already tried twice.
Maybe, I will try one more time on a fresh new save.

its not so good for miles tho...

in 19 hours, it has done 168 miles. Not as much as I had hoped, however free miles while im working is a bonus. So thanks for this method.

so your looking about 110 hours for a full 1000 miles. but if you combine this with some regular driving its a great method to do so AFK boosting. Just done expect it to be done in 30 hours like OP said.

Yes, this still works as I did it overnight and have just checked my achievements and I now have it.

Which button did you keep held down, I've tried both sticks and the RT button but my joypad keeps turning itself off every 100,000 or so which freezes the points.

I've plugged in a non wireless pad now so I'll see if that stays on.

Edit: That worked, woke up with 1.7m points and the achievement :D

To get out of the glitch you just press start and exit the game, when you restart it will put you back where you started the mission. If your doing it for the miles make sure you save first by turning the subtitles on/off.

You don't have to do it in one go, just make sure you save at 999 so you can reload if it doesn't give you it.

Once in the glitch you don't need to hold the button down, the game will be in an infinite loop. I taped the right trigger down to obtain the "Explorer" achievement. I'm not sure if it made a difference or not. It took about 30 hours to obtain 980 miles and then I just drove the remaining miles to unlock the achievement.

I just started the dlc last night at 12am and it's 8 1/2 hours later and I have my 1,000,000 achievement and exactly 241 miles traveled. Maybe you didn't have the right trigger rubberbaned. I'm not sure if it makes a difference but it would only make sence if you're going for the explorer. I have my cod black ops controller with a cut off Q-tip in the right trigger wedged. Good luck I'm off to work.

I'm going to try the exploit this weekend. Thanks!

Back to the topic, this glitch saved me. I'm currently using it for the Explorer achievement and it's not the best way to rack up miles, but leaving it on while I'm asleep is great. I've calculated that it racks up to about 100 miles give or take per 3 hours. In other words, it's still a 30 hour grind. I can just AFK those 30 hours. Also, I'm using the Walter Rocket if anyone is having trouble picking a vehicle.

I suggest to everyone to just use this and then do the DLC on easy mode. It will make the whole 250 very easy.

You can decide how you do the 1000 miles.

Just a word of warning for people that are going to try this: there is a setting on the 360 called "Auto Off". If it is enabled, your 360 will automatically shut off after 6 hours of inactivity. I wondered what had happened when I woke up from having the game run all night to rack up points for the Explorer achievement. I was so pissed when I saw the system was off. I thought someone had shut it off or the power had gone out for a second because of the heavy wind outside or something.

Then I found the option in the settings and it was set to Enabled. I was sleeping for seven hours too, if I had just woken up an hour earlier I still could have gotten to the system before it shut off. I guess this wouldn't happen if you have the right trigger taped down, but I didn't do it since it doesn't make the miles rack up any faster.

So just be sure that you have Auto Off set to Disabled in the system settings menu on your Xbox 360 before you attempt this for Explorer. Next time I'm going to tape my right trigger down as well, just to be safe. And as most of you probably already know, if your controller shuts off the game will pause, so you must have either a wired controller or a Play N Charge kit to try this.

If you pass 1000 miles during glitch and game saves, you will have to do it all over again. The achievement will only unlock if you get to 1000 while physically on a street.

K it was user error, there are two shops identical on the same stretch of road a few hundred yards from each other ENSURE you have the right shop if you are struggling with this....

I was at the wrong shop, I put the video on full screen on my laptop and noticed the shop next door had a different name, about 10 shops down on the same side of the road is the correct shop.

Just like to share my experience:

20 hours of afk falling (getting 250 point "jumps") and im at 700 miles driven. So using this method you can get explorer being afk if you dont have a save anymore. Obviously if you have a save with DLC story completion you'll probably have about 300 miles driven so it'll only be a 20 hour afk boost.

Thanks to OP for sharing. Method works flawlessly :)

You can turn the game off but you'll need to trigger a save which doesn't always happen when you quit. The best way to trigger a save is to change the subtitles to on/off in the game settings before you turn off the game (mentioned previously in this thread).

I know I am late but to any of those just picking this DLC up or the platinum hits as of 1/25/2012 this glitch still works even after the update. I'm currently at 200,000 points. I purchased the platinum hits version used off of Amazon.

I did some rough math if you do not tape or find a way to hold down RT to hold down the throttle of the car you will do about half a mile every two minutes. However, if you hold the RT button all the way down you while do roughly a mile an hour or 60 miles an hour. Which will take you about 17 hours. But while I'm away at college I'm getting achievements. I thank the OP for this method. Saved me a ton of time.

I will update and let those know when I get the achievements.

*edit*
I got the achievement for one million points. It took about 4 hours as others have stated. So the glitch works great. I'm letting my xbox run to build up miles driven for the other achievement.

Confirmed here also. Drove about 330 miles thinking I'd do it legit. "Fuck that. Too long." Glitched until around 970 (remember to save every so often with Subtitles on/off - when I went to reload last checkpoint @970 I got stuck on an infinite loading screen!, luckily I had a save). Drove around for the last 30 miles, stopped myself right when it popped: 1000.11 miles.
