I know in AC2, buying paintings was a good way of increasing the villa's value and raising your income. But after buying paintings in Brotherhood, there isn't the usual "You now get X florins every 20min" notice. So are they just a waste of money (at least until I'm making more money than I need), or am I missing something?

So far... I'm not sure... I know there's an assassins safe house in Roma, Inside it looks like the room in the villa that housed all your armour and paintings etc. I presume all the paintings go there and it adds to your income...

They go to Ezio's Hideout. Your bought weapons, and armour go there too. And feathers. It's like a mini Monteriggioni.

Oh, so they don't add value...? Well, at least you can see them now! :)

What do you mean? You can see them in AC2 as well on the second floor across from your moms room. But I can confirm they add no value. Just go to a bank and look. Do you see any numbers for paintings? Didn't think so.
