Who seriously thought having you escort a Zeppelin through all those towers was a good idea? Takes ages, and the Zeppelin takes constant punishment. Gah

Yeah I have to say that did take me a while to do, got as far as the last massive area full of them and had like a hairs width of health left, so obviously had to restart the whole sequence, (luckily I had a save).

Do either of you have any tips for this, as I'm finding it immensely frustrating? By the time my zep gets to that last patch it just doesn't have any where near enough health to last the final run. It's at about 80% health in the auto save preceding that bit, but there is just so much stuff to try and take out that I don't see how you're supposed to be able to do any better.

At the moment I basically fly around try and ignore the wyverns and try to lock on the towers and nests etc and essentially spam fire balls at them all, but since it takes 2 to take down a tower and a few more to do a nest, not to mention the fact that they're a right pain to target because of the wyvern interferance, I just can't seem to get through them quick enough.

Ah not to worry, I never realised you got given that Wrath of the Patriarch skill, it sat there all un-noiticed on my X button. It kind of pretty much turns what was a real pain in the arse into a doddle. Just aim it at the central tower in a cluster and it wipes out the whole lot. Got the zepplin through to the end with practically full health.

I'll have to give that a look. I want to have the expansion finished, as I have to replay the main game; missed a load of the first part, due to not realising taking the tower would result in the world being destroyed.

Lol I was going to post telling you to make sure you use your Patriarch skill whenever you get tight clusters of towers and make use of your Wyvern / Airship Attacks and the :lbbut: boost to dash between towers. But it looks like you have it covered!

This all came in handy today. I decided to replay from the start, partly so I could play the bits I missed first time around, and also because I didn't have a save from before the towers.

Actually thought the airship had been destroyed just before the base, but thankfully the cut-scene kicked in and I got to face Ygerna. Finished it! Well, apart from four achievements, but they can wait a while.

Late to the party on this one, but I'll add this just in case someone else turns up late and needs some help.

I never used the patriarch on my run through, I had a simple plan which worked well, the zeppelin took at most 10% damage.

As soon as the section started I went into my items and equipped as much HP boost Dragon armour as I could (I had 2 pieces) I also added pieces that improved my healing and my firebreath and went to work.

The first section I would rush in with left bumper and attack all towers with the same attack, one shot from the single fireball move (I forget what it's called but it was on :abut:) then finish off with the normal fire breath. For nests/Lightning towers I would use the same tactics but stop fire breathing just before the fireball is ready to go again so I had mana available to use it immediately.

The key here is that even if you run out of mana, you can still use your firebreath so I only stop just enough to let a fireball be used, occasionally a health shot and the Wyvern too. Speaking of the health power, I'd pop that when I drop to 50% health.

The basic plan I had was to take out the front towers first so they're not shooting at the Zeppelin, after that aim straight for the nests and take them out to limit the number of flying enemies. After that you can quickly move from tower to tower taking them out without pause as the time to move from one to the next is enough time for a fireball to be ready and you can fire it than immediately clamp on firebreath and take out a tower in a couple of seconds.

After the first section, you get given the options to bombard. I didn't use them either, all I did at that point was put healing potions on my :ddown: and use them instead of my dragon healing which sped things up even more.

I just moved through every location the same, take out the front Ballista towers, focus on all the nests then deal with the rest from front to back. By the end of the section I was way ahead of the Zeppelin, it wasn't taking any damage because it was simply so far behind me.

I also ignored 99% of the flying baddies, I left those to the Zeppelin and my Wyvern, I catch one or two occasionally by accident, or target them if there was a largish number of them and take out the easy ones then move on, but tbh as long as you take out the nests fast, they're not a problem at all, you will only get a few from each nest.

An irritating end of game run to be sure, but once the pattern was set it worked remarkably well.
