View Full Version : Mint Condition and Superior State of Mind

02-01-2011, 08:59 AM
Hi Guys
I am going for those 2 achievements at the moment and I thought it would be helpful to list which characters have the easiest combo's to complete.

So far I have completed 45% of the 50% for mint condition and 78 Combo Challenges all together :
I would suggest starting with the following characters :

Tager : I completed all 10 over 2 evening's
Hazama : I completed 9/10 ( 1-9 ) also over 2 evening's
Makoto : I completed 7/10 in 1 evening
Ragna : I completed 7/10 in 1 evening

Anybody have any other advice or think any other characters are really easy ?

Tager is really easy. 10/10 on him and i'm not even a Tager user.
there are a couple tricks to learn about him but once you get them off it's a breeze.
Valkenhayn is also simple (but remember he works only towards superior state of mind, not for the gallery), though i did only 6 to not interfere with the achievement waiting for a fix.
Arakune is also pretty simple up to the 7th once you actually get how it works.
Anyways, use the tips on this page as stated in the road map: http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/blazblue-continuum-shift/62929-challenge-mode-help-thread-q.html
It really helped me for Tager and Arakune.

Thanks for the advice. Did 5 for Arakune and will try do another 2- Im almost done now - just need about another 7 challenges for Mint condition and 22 for superior state of mind.
Quite a hard achievement.

02-01-2011, 12:15 PM
Yeah, quite hard for me too.
But i did it in the end, so anyone can XD seriously.
Also, try to do 8 for both Ragna And Makoto. I didn't have many troubles with those.
Needs really a lot of patience if like me you're not so good at fighting.
Don't despair anyways, remember there's also Platinum to be released, so 10 more challenges! Good luck man.

Thanks man. Will let you know how it goes...

Tsubaki have easy ones, only #6 that might cause some trouble.

Arukune's 6-7 are very easy.
Trying doing Rachel up to 6, Lambda up to 6, Jin up to 8 (except for 7), Mu up to 8, Ragna up to 8 and Bang up to 6/7. They're actually easier than you think. Also Valkenhayn's pretty easy too, i wouldnt get past 6 though.

02-01-2011, 07:29 PM
Yeah I will complete Valk's up to 6 and wait for the patch , then just do number 7 for the achievements once they are fixed :-)

Thanks for all the advice guys....

6,8, and 9 gave me trouble, but the other challenges are pretty straight forward. An easy way to get through challenge 8 is charge up the install gauges all the way to 5. It'll be easier for you to do. 8 and 9 have to be timed right.

tsubaki and jin have easy combo. They gave me trouble for the same reason, whenever i high jump it seem i enter a 214 input XD

Hakumen are not that hard to,you just have to get the timing right.

Same here, you just have to focus and try to press 1,9 instead of 2,9.

I beat Tsubaki 10/10, Noel 9/10, Ragna 7/10, and Jin7/10 challeges all in one sitting.
Pretty easy

I take it you main Noel? since her challenges are ridiculously hard if you don't know how to haida loop. Shes one of those i have less than 50% completed, along Hakumen, Carl and Taokaka.

Well I got my mint condition and have 13 left for Superior state of Mind. I did 1-9 of Arakune and have done carl 1-4 so far..
Will let you guys know if I finish it...

Well I finally did it :-)
Superior state of mind is all mine....

Well I finally did it :-)
Superior state of mind is all mine....

Congrats, I'm having a helluva time getting there. I'm having trouble with the muscle memory to pull off a lot of the moves.

Its strange how your brain works , You can be struggling on 1 part of the combo for like an hour and then you just get it and keep nailing it. I never ever thought I would get Arakune's combos with the hold button mechanic , but once you understand how it works it becomes really really easy.

Strange thing for me was that I struggled with Jin who everyone says is quite easy...

The best advice I can give is to just take 1 combo at a time and focus on the easier characters :

Tager - Very Easy

Also for people like Bang , Litchi , Carl , Hakumen just try get the first 4 or 5 done...

If you want any advice or anything just let me know.
I don't claim to be the best , but I do remember a few tricks in some combo's....
Also Platinum the trinity will come out in thge next couple months which will give you an extra 10 challenges to add up to make your 100 :-)

Anyone who got 100 without any DLC characters has my full respect.

Hey, did you use a fight stick? Because I'm having trouble on some of the earlier challenges.

02-14-2011, 11:00 AM
I did all with the normal xbox360 controller.

02-15-2011, 10:18 PM
I was thinking of getting this. Suggestions?

02-16-2011, 03:56 AM
I was thinking of getting this (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00352LY46/ref=s9_bbs_gw_d8_ir05?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-4&pf_rd_r=0K542XB8CPANB0VS74SX&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=467128133&pf_rd_i=468294). Suggestions?

If I were you, I would get the Madcatz SE simply because I really hate those HORI sticks. If you can get yourself a cheap SE, preferably used, just modify it with a Sanwa stick and Sanwa buttons. It's pretty simple to do. I just really hate those HORI sticks, they feel too cheap. Just my opinion.....

02-16-2011, 02:05 PM
I agree , Get the TE Sticks or save until you can get them... I had a hori stick which didn't last and im not a button masher by no means....

02-16-2011, 08:07 PM
They're far too pricy... even the Street Fighter ones are almost triple the price of the HORI stick.

02-17-2011, 07:25 AM
Triple the price , but so much more superior !.

02-17-2011, 08:35 AM
Triple the price , but so much more superior !.

3 times the superiority! XD

Well, if anything, this is at least better.

Mad Catz Street Fighter IV Arcade FightStick: Amazon.co.uk: PC & Video Games

Try looking at eBay, They're pretty inexpensive.

Does a fight stick like, REALLY help? Does it take much less effort than a controller or does it make it much easier? If I'm spending that much money I want quality and something that can get the job done.

02-17-2011, 07:48 PM
Well, to be honest, it actually takes a little more effort, simply because instead of doing a quarter-circle motion with your thumb, you know have to do the quarter-circle motion with your wrist. Also, it will take you quite a while to get used to a stick. Took me about a year to get mediocre, so yeah, it is a bit challenging, but something about using a stick makes playing games more fun.

Noel is pretty easy for me but that may be because she's my main.
