Introduction: Welcome to my The Biggest Loser: Ultimate Workout guide, it's my first so please give feedback and I'll update what needs to be done. The focus of this game is to get fit & lose weight in the process - it's not as intensive as EA Active 2, and takes longer than Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, but has great variety of exercises and you shouldn't get bored doing them. The motion capture on the game can be "twitchy" so occasionally it won't see that you're following the shape/move properly, but overall the way it corrects you is quite good. The game also gives you dietary and general health advice, this DOES NOT replace advice of a doctor, but is general advice that will help you get fitter if you're not that healthy.

If you're "rushing" your way to 1000, take your Xbox offline and set it to a start date, I suggest the beginning of the year as this makes it easier to track when you have to exercise, note that if you forget to change the date before continuing after a break, the game will tell you when you last played so you can go back to the dashboard, unplug from the Internet and change the date.

Note that for some exercises you will need approximately 8 foot/2.5 metres square - with the "laying down" exercises it needs to see from your arms stretched above your head to your feet, otherwise you will "fail" the move, which can make the workout harder, and you won't be able to get the Home Run achievement.

IMPORTANT NOTE, if you use the date changing trick, you won't be able to use your progress online unless your date last played matches the current date - the best solutions I can recommend are to either have another save on another device (MU/USB) or to do them first, delete your save, and start using the date trick. This game DOES NOT let you continue if your console date is incorrect compared to the date of the save!

Step 1:
Create your profile, let the game measure you, and if you're not using it to actually get fit, tell it you're the maximum possible weight. Now start a 4 week program. During this process you will get several of the lower pointed Achievements - you will have to "work out" for 4 weeks, but I recommend actually working out as it'll help towards the Calories Burned and Fit Score (every little helps), not to mention getting you fitter. At the start of the 4 week program it will ask you your target weight, make sure that it is only a few kgs/lbs below your starting weight as this will get you both "target weight" achievements.

During the 4 weeks you will be asked to fill in the KYN test, first time tell it you're as unhealthy as possible, then on the next workout day, take it again and make yourself as fit as possible. On one of the weeks, fill in 100 additional calories burned per day, and your calorie intake (within 100) of your daily input. You can also clean up the "routine" achievements, and the "challenge" acheievments (you might not be able to do the Intense one, but that can come later). Following the instructor as closely as possible will get your shape bright green, this helps on the score of the workout, the brighter the green the better score you get. Go into the additional exercises and make a routine of 2-3 exercises and save it. You can try the "perfect consecutive" achievements, but I'd recommend doing them once you're more used to the game.

Make sure that you accept the health & fitness task if one is available, and DO NOT exit out of any of the workouts or you will miss an achievement. After every workout routine/other, make sure it's saved the exit to dashboard, change the date to the next workout date and reload the game, it will always ask you if it's right date as it's not online.

The 4 week doesn't use the Fit Score, it just uses weight loss, so during the weigh-ins, make sure you drop 10kg/20lbs, and you'll definitely win the week.

At the end of the 4 weeks you should have the following achievements: The First Step, We Have The Technology, Full House, Everything in Moderation, Electric Circuitry, Float Like A Butterfly, Yoga Master, On Your Weigh In, Weigh To Go, 28 Days Lighter, The Biggest Loser, Halfway House, Mission Accomplished, A Good Start, Commitment to the Cause, Up To The Challenge, Challenges Overcome, Home Run, The First Spark (if you're working out), Glowing Embers (if you're working out hard), Food For Thought, Extra Curricular, Doctor in the House, Fitness Coach, TBL: Contestant, TBL: Finalist. (phew)

Step 2:
Once the 4 week has finished, it will ask you what type of routine you want to do next, select one that is 8 weeks - by this time your Fit Score should be between 75,000 and 85,000 (depending if you've exercised) so you're well on your way. Using the same process as you used in the 4 week of going to the dashboard & changing the date - during this you NEED to workout for this otherwise you'll lose the game and have to re-do this process. Recommended 2/3 workouts per week, Moderate difficulty, 20/30 minutes.

As long as you worked out, won the events, and got to the final of the 8 week program (you don't have to win) you will get the achievement, at the end of this process you should have a Fit Score over 150,000 (easier if you workout more).

At the end of the 8 weeks you should have the follow achievements: 8 Weeks Fitter, Burning Brightly, TBL: Personal Trainer, and possibly Decathlete.

Step 3:
After the 8 weeks, you need to run the 12 weeks, this requires the most working out to remain in the competition, especially at the end of the competition. Using the same process as used in the 4/8 week programs, dashboard & date process you will get to the final. I recommend during this process you make a copy of your save right before the week/end process so that you can add in additional exercises to raise your score if you find yourself losing the weigh-in.

Once you finish the 12 weeks you should have the following achievements: 3 Months Thin, True Dedication, TBL: Fitness Guru and possibly Raging Inferno and Olympian Endurance.

Step 4:
Now is time to do the online achievements and mop up anything you missed - go back online, find a friend with the game (or the trading thread), do the routine & host a competition (it appears that only the host gets the achievement). If you don't have the exercise time & calories burned acheivements then keep on working out (if only time, you can start a routine and walk away as it doesn't care if you're not in view).

If you're fit enough, get the "Intense" level acheivements, complete them plus the annoying 1 point achievements - personally I haven't got them yet as I'm not fit enough, but they do require you to be physically fit to complete them.

Job Done, if you got to 1000gs then you either started fit or you got fitter during the process. :-)

Thanks to Dusturm for help on the description on the 1 point achievements.

Achievement Guide

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/+hlrXQ==.jpgThe First Step - 5
Complete a new profile by creating a new character for your Fitness Program
You can't miss this achievement, it takes a few minutes for the game to scan you, then modify your profile, once complete the achievement will pop.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/+Dhi6A==.jpgFull House - 5
Complete all exercises in any exercise routine
Complete a workout routine, you have to get at least 1/5 on the exercises to prove to the game that you can do them, once the routine is complete the achievement will pop - the easiest way to get this is to use a "Less than 20 minute" routine on the easiest difficulty.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/+diaew==.jpgEverything In Moderation - 10
Complete any Light or Moderate routine scoring 4 or more for proficiency
The scoring of 4 means an average of 4 over all of the exercises, but try to hit as many 5s as you can in case the tracking doesn't follow you for some of them. The achievement will pop as soon as the routine is complete.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/-Hpxgg==.jpgElectric Circuitry - 20
Complete a Challenging, Hard or Intense Circuit Training routine scoring 4 or more for proficiency
See "Yoga Master"

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/-ZqJEQ==.jpgFloat Like A Butterfly - 20
Complete a Challenging, Hard or Intense Box-Fit routine scoring 4 or more for proficiency
See "Yoga Master"

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/-7uApA==.jpgYoga Master - 20
Complete a Challenging, Hard or Intense Yoga routine scoring 4 or more for proficiency
Go into the "Additional Routines" and choose the type of training, put the Intensity on Challenging and a less than 20 minute routine, the average of the scores must be 4, so try to get as many 5s as you can.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/-lt4Nw==.jpgOn Your Weigh In - 10
Complete 1st week
Complete a week of exercises, the competition and weigh-in (doesn't matter where you come, just complete the week) - DO NOT skip out on the exercise routines.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/-XxsOQ==.jpgWeigh To Go - 20
Win the weekly weigh-in event in a fitness program
Easiest done on a 4 week challenge as the routine scores don't matter, just make sure that you lose about 5-10% of your initial weight and you will win the week.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/-JyUqg==.jpg28 Days Lighter - 20
Complete a 4 week fitness program
This is the easiest of the fitness routines as the routine scores don't matter, only your weight loss - you can skip out on the routines if you want, and you don't have to win (or even place) in the challenges.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/-yJ5aw==.jpg8 Weeks Fitter - 50
Complete an 8 week fitness program
More difficult than the 4 week as your routine scores matter more than weight loss, and as the weeks go on you have to put more work - a moderate routine 3 times per week will guarantee it, and make sure you lose weight every single week.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/-QNw3g==.jpg3 Months Thin - 100
Complete a 12 week fitness program
Definitely the hardest of the routines - you MUST exercise every week, and be good at the routines to keep getting towards the final week. I suggest copying the save to another storage device before you do the challenge and weigh in, just in case the game thinks that you've not worked hard enough, then you can do some extra routines to pad up the score.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/-OOITQ==.jpgThe Biggest Loser - 100
Win the Biggest Loser competition!
Easiest done in the 4 week event as you only have to drop in weight and don't have to exercise.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/+UFjtA==.jpgHalfway House - 50
Get halfway towards achieving your personal goals
See "Mission Accomplished"

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/+KGbJw==.jpgMission Accomplished - 100
Achieve your personal goals!
Done during the 4 week event, enter your "Personal Goal" as being a few lbs/kgs below your current weight and when you end your first week, drop more weight than would take you to your Personal Goal.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/+oCSkg==.jpgA Good Start - 10
Complete all your scheduled exercise routines for a week
Do a 2 routine week, less than 20 minutes - you don't have to actually exercise, just don't skip out on any of the routines - after the week's challenge & weigh in is complete the achievement will pop.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/UPz1P+0=.jpgCommitment to the Cause - 40
Complete all your scheduled exercise routines for 4 weeks
Related to "A Good Start", complete all routines for a 4 week period, DO NOT skip out on any of the routines or you will have to re-start the 4 week period.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/UP0Vx34=.jpgTrue Dedication - 100
Complete all your scheduled exercise routines for 12 weeks
Related to "A Good Start", complete all routines for a 12 week period, DO NOT skip out on any of the routines or you will have to re-start the 12 week period.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/UP80zss=.jpgUp To The Challenge - 5
Win a challenge event
Not exactly difficult - as soon as you have your routine setup, go into the Additional Exercises and choose Challenges, choose one, make sure it's on "Light" and the exercises are ones that you find easy - don't pick ones which are "laying down" and then "standing" as this makes it a LOT more difficult. After 3 rounds you will win the event, as long as it's on "Light", then this should be a breeze.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/UP7UNlg=.jpgChallenges Overcome - 15
Win all 5 challenge events
As with "Up To The Challenge", step through each of the 5 Challenges, win each one and this will pop after the 5th one is complete - this MUST be done within your exercise program.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/UPt23aE=.jpgThe Ultimate Challenger - 50
Win all challenges at the Intense difficulty level
A LOT harder than "Challenges Overcome" as the computer will push harder and the exercises are harder - make sure your shape is bright green as much as possible.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/UPqWJTI=.jpgHome Run - 50
Complete all exercises in the fitness test
Probably the hardest achievement in the game - do the fitness test and get at least a 4 rating in each of the tests, if at any point you slip below a 4 rating the fitness test will end! Make sure you have 8-9 foot (3 metres) square for your Kinect to see you as some of the fitness parts require you to lay down and have your arms over your head.
Note that the game will occasionally not see your shape correctly, if this happens you will have to re-start the test - an entire test will take about 20-30 minutes of non-stop exercising so you HAVE to be physically fit to complete this!

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/UPi3LIc=.jpgDecathlete - 20
Complete 10 hours of exercise
See "Olympian Endurance".

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/UPlX1BQ=.jpgOlympian Endurance - 50
Complete 24 hours of exercise
Exactly what it says - complete 24 hours of exercises, over the 24 week of exercises (4, 8 & 12 week routines) you should be close to 24 hours, if not over, but you can push it through by using a simple trick: because the game doesn't care if you're in front of the Kinect, you can start an Additional Exercise routine (Cardio Training, 60+ minutes gives you around 90 minutes) and then walk away, coming back later to add the additional time.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1521/UPvvJG4=.jpgHip Hip Hooray - 1
Complete 5 perfect consecutive sets of Hip Lift with Raised Legs in freeplay
Go into freeplay, select the relevant exercise and complete five sets, each reaching a rating of 5. If at any point you complete a set and don't reach the 5 rating, the count will reset.
The rating is shown in the bars above the rep/calorie counter. It takes about 15 to 18 perfect reps to fill all 5 bars up. After the 5 are lit up, your on-screen trainer stops and you can continue and select that exercise again. Repeat the exercise 5 times with all 5 bars and after the 5th set, the achievement will pop - this works in freeplay and quick play.
Oh nice thing is, between every set, you can take a break before doing the next set. In case you get worn down and tired.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1521/UP5Nz5c=.jpgThe First Spark - 10
Burn a total of 1000 Calories in game
See "Raging Inferno".

Burn a total of 2500 Calories in game
See "Raging Inferno".

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1521/UP2MPrE=.jpgOn Fire - 10
Burn a total of 5000 Calories in game
See "Raging Inferno".

Burn a total of 10000 Calories in game
See "Raging Inferno".

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1521/UP8H99c=.jpgRaging Inferno - 10
Burn a total of 25000 Calories in game
Calorie burning is any kind of movement in front of the game, although not being in front of the camera still burns approximately 1.25 calories per minute. If your exercises are "Perfect" (your shape being bright green) the calorie count seems to be higher than being darker green or red. Note that the heavier the game thinks you are, the more calories you will burn.
If you have not got this by the end of the 24 weeks, continue with Additional Exercises or start new routines until this pops.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1521/UP0m-mI=.jpgFood For Thought - 10
Match your recommended calorie intake for every day before a weigh-in
Before a weigh-in you have the chance to add in your calorie intake - make sure that you enter calories within 100 of the target for each day, note that the interface is confusing, you have to select the amount per meal and then "Add to weekly total", DO NOT highlight the "Back" button or it will cancel the entry. Make sure you enter the calorie intake for each day of the week or this will not pop.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1521/UPzGBvE=.jpgExtra Curricular - 10
Burn more than 100 calories of additional exercise for every day before a weigh-in
Before a weigh-in you have the chance to enter additional exercises - tell the game that you've done other exercises for each day, choose "Intense" and raise the number of minutes until the calorie total is higher than 100. Make sure you enter the additional calories for each day of the week or this will not pop.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/1521/UPlk7Qg=.jpgDoctor in the House - 10
Reduce your KYN score to show an improvement in your general health
When you start a routine, after one of the exercise routines it will ask you to enter your health details - in the first week make yourself as unhealthy as possible (smoking, drinking, eating red meat, not eating fruit & veg, not exercising, etc), on the next day of your routine select the "Heart" option and re-take the KYN, but this type make yourself incredibly healty - as long as your new score is lower (which it should be), this will pop.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/UPiEFZs=.jpgFitter Friends - 5
Complete an exercise routine with a friend in multiplayer
Find a friend online, either can host, have the host make a routine (several exercises) and play through the routine with your friend - once the routine is complete the achievement will pop.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/UPqlHC4=.jpgBring A Buddy - 5
Play a challenge event with a friend in multiplayer
Host a game with a friend and run through a Challenge - to make it faster just fail it and it will pop after - this achievement only pops for the host, not for the other participant.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/UPtF5L0=.jpgFitness Coach - 5
Create an exercise routine in freeplay mode and save it
Go into freeplay and create a routine of several different exercises, it cannot be just one exercise, then choose to Save the routine and the achievement will pop.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/UPhi8LM=.jpgWe Have The Technology - 5
Use the Body Analyzer to create a Personalized Fitness Program
This cannot be missed, the body analyzer will scan you and make a routine for you, once complete the achievement will pop.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/UPmCCCA=.jpgTBL: Contestant - 5
Achieve a Fit Score greater than 5000
This will come after a week or so of exercises.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/UPo85eE=.jpgTBL: Challenger - 5
Achieve a Fit Score greater than 10000
This should come after 2-3 weeks of exercises - the more exercises you do, the quicker this will come.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/UPgd7FQ=.jpgTBL: Finalist - 5
Achieve a Fit Score greater than 50000
Once you complete the 4 week routine, this will pop - you get a BIG "Fit Score" from winning a contest.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/UPn9FMc=.jpgTBL: Personal Trainer - 5
Achieve a Fit Score greater than 100000
This should come during the 8 week routine as long as you've already done the 4 week before it. If it hasn't popped before you're half way through the 8 week, it will definitely pop once you have won the 8 week competition.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1521/UPxf-z4=.jpgTBL: Fitness Guru - 5
Achieve a Fit Score greater than 250000
The only way this will pop is if you win several competitions in a row - it can be done with several 4 week competitions, but is easier to do it by 4, then 8, then 12 as 4 is weight only based, and 8 & 12 are predominantly exercise based, the exercises in the 8 & 12 week competitions will help towards your calories burned acheivements.

Nice guide. Good work.
I would like to add for the achievements: Plank's Constant, Pardon Me, So Sumo, The Big Push and Hip Hip Hooray, you have to do 5 sets. One set is lighting up all 5 bars above the rep/calorie counter. It takes about 15 to 18 perfect reps to fill all 5 bars up. After the 5 are lit up, your on-screen trainer stops and you can continue and select that exercise again. Repeat the exercise 5 times with all 5 bars and after the 5th set, the achievement will pop.

I have only done one so far, The Big Push, and for all the work you have to do for one achievement point, it's a pain!

I only tried this in quick play and it worked.

Oh nice thing is, between every set, you can take a break before doing the next set. Incase you get worn down and tired.

This guide is good for the most part however there is one MAJOR MAJOR flaw that everyone should watch for in this stupid game. Changing the dates offline will get you the achievements that is correct HOWEVER it also screws you over big time.

My situation: Started in November. I did the 12 weeks without missing a day legitly and just finished on Saturday. I then took this guides advice of going offline changing the date and advancing. Did this get me the achievements? Yes it did, but it also made me unable to play the game online for 3 months! When you load the game it checks for the date if its wrong it will say you can continue anyway if the date is past the “last played date” , but if the date is BEFORE the last played date you will screw yourself over. The guide says to start on January 1st. Ok that’s fine if you didn’t load the game ever. If you did it will say “Todays date is 1/1/2011 you last played on 2/14/2011. To continue either change the date to 2/14/2011 or delete your saved data.” It also says this if you do the guys trick for the 4 or 8 week thing. I did the 4 and 8 weeks using his method this brought me to 5/7/2011. I get the achievements then I go and change it back to 2/14/2011 so I can mop up everything else. I get the stupid message “ Today is 2/14/2011 you last played on 5/7/2011 please change the date or delete your saved data”. Therefore now if I want to play the game I have to go offline and change it to 5/7/2011 EVERY TIME or wait till 5/7/2011 to play it. Thanks for the warning guide creator because you didn’t mention this at all and now it is a huge inconvenience seriously.

I found doing these on a 10 minute routine to be the best way to get these. Thats of course you want a challenge.

I have found for the offline date changing, if you do not log in to xbox live at all you wont have a problem. The game also looks at the last time your gamer tag was logged into live as well as the system date. Found that out the hard way last month 3 weeks into a 12 week program. Had to delete all my data because I wont miss a workout and I have to leave town a few days a week for work.

Easiest way I found around this was to have a different save point for the online Achievements - if you can get a Memory Unit or USB stick, you can make a new save just for the point of the 2 Achievements...

At this point I have 3 "work in progress" games to get the various programs and to test various methods (which I'll update the guide for once they're complete).

If you've got everything apart from the 2 online ones, delete your gamesave and go into the game again, then the date won't matter... that's if you don't mind losing your progress in any workout routines...

I will make a warning though about the dates in the guide, in case anyone else runs into this problem.

On the achievement Home Run you can hit the guide button any time during the fitness program to pause it and it won't affect the achievement and there's an in game break in between increasing difficulties. So you don't really have to do it non-stop making it much easier. Also the last excercise is sumo squats so if you didn't make it to those you failed the test.

For the achievement The Ultimate Challenger you can change the muscle focus of the challenge which can make it easier.

Excellent guide "The Mr Fill"..
I am not going to try the offline cheat as I do need to lose weight..
My problem is with the Extra Curricular achievement.
I am doing an 8 week routine and in week 5 at the mo.. So far I have burned 120 extra but the chievo didn't pop.
Do I have to do one of the game's 4, 8, or 12 week routine's for this chievo???
