It was only on recently and a lot of you overseas members won't have a clue what I'm talking about, but An Idiot Abroad. Just dry British humour throughout and I loved every minute of it.

Arrested Development or South Park.

Good choices. I'd still have to say the first season of Eastbound and Down. Nothing ever beats South Park or Family Guy in the long run though. American dad is also somewhat on the list =P

They've been airing that on nat geo here in Canada and I've watched a few of the episodes now and it is quite funny. The main guy is such an idiot and Gervais fucks with him so bad. It's great, I love it when they guilt him into doing stuff by saying that it would disappoint the network if he doesn't. The Machu Picchu episode was great. I'm surprised the canibles didn't get too offended and threaten to eat him. I would have lost it if they had given him some BBQ sause as a gift just to see the reaction from him.

I still need to vote for South Park though. I still laugh my ass off at almost every episode. And I think it's gotten even better the last 3 seasons if that is even possible.

Fur TV. If you looking for some older stuff then Red Dwarf and Blackadder 2-goes forth are brilliant.

Haha! Yeah, it was great. So glad the Science Channel picked it up in the United States. The Ricky Gervais Show is also great.

Oddly enough, though, I still haven't seen Extras and I need to give The Office a rewatch since I haven't seen it in like five to six years.

Anyway, here's a list of my favorite comedic shows:

Arrested Development
The Colbert Report
Conan (also all his other late night shows)
Curb Your Enthusiasm
The Daily Show
Fishing With John
An Idiot Abroad
The Office (US version)
The Ricky Gervais Show
Seinfeld
The Simpsons (Early seasons)

To be honest, I didn't realize my list was going to be so bear; I must be missing something...

The King Of Queens
South Park

Those are what come to mind off hand.

The jokes are just so old and played out now. I mean, some of them are extremely clever, but I think the writers have lost their touch, for the most part.

The first four seasons were great though.

Let's hope for good episodes next season.

Believe it or not, serious dramas like Deadwood or The Wire often had me howling. Sometimes it was due to the subject matter being so intense it's that kinda "laugh or cry" situation, but a lot of times the humour developed organically from just regular events.

In terms of actual comedies, I'd rate American Dad as the funniest at the moment, followed closely by South Park, The Ricky Gervais Show, and The Simpsons. Haven't seen "Louie" yet but love CK's standup so I'm sure I'll like it.

And with South Park, don't forget that the guys were splitting their time between the show and getting their Book Of Morman play off the ground. Now that it's out, they should be able to focus more energies back into the show.

Agreed 100%.

I used to be a die hard Family Guy fan, but due to the last few seasons (with the exception of a few episodes) I have lost any real desire to watch it anymore. South Park, on the other hand, still gets me laughing at least a few times per episode.

I do have to agree with some people Tosh.0 is funny. American Dad is good, I watched a episode for the first time earlier and it seems pretty funny as well.

South Park is barely funny anymore imo

only reason i wouldnt say jackass is because me and my friends used to do alot of that stupid stuff when we were kids (except for the putting things in our ass part). and we never got paid to do it :(

but as others said my favorite show that i still think is funniest on television is south park. even though the newer episodes arent nearly as good, i still have alot of memories watching this back in high school when every week was another halarious episode.

Community easily gets my vote, I just hope they can keep it going. I think Donald Glover epitomizes how talented everyone on that show is, considering he wrote for 30 rock and now is starting his own rapping career as "Childish Gambino".

The only show I can think of that I geniunely find funny is probably "The Big Bang Theory". I know that's such a weak answer, but I can't think of anything I laugh at with any sort of regularity. I find all TV comedy to usually be crap. The only reason I enjoy BBT, is probably because every gamer/nerd can relate to it, even if you don't have a Ph.D

I didn't know where to put this, but find it hysterical, and didn't wanna make a new thread. In fairness it is a TV show, and one of the funniest around if I do say so myself. I'm referring to The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. The following video is why: http://www.aoltv.com/2011/06/28/melissa-joan-hart-remembers-sabrina-magical-pussy-video/

She seriously looks as hot as she did back in the day, and not to mention where else is she gonna say something like that. Win all around...

P.S. I would have linked YouTube, but the video isn't available there for copyright reasons. It's AOL, so it's legit. Whatever...

I don't find the "adult" cartoons that funny. Every now and then I'll get a good kick out of it and laugh my ass off, but I don't watch them for the most part. I find them rather lame, immature, and somewhat annoying. I think The Office is probably one of the funniest current shows. (At least it was until Steve left, haven't seen Season 7 yet).

Thought resurrecting this from the dead would be better than making a new one, want to find some new or old comedy's to watch.

Favorite British Comedies of all time: Fawlty Towers & 15 Storeys High (Sean Lock is so underrated)

Favorite American Comedies: King Of Queens, can watch re-runs non stop (Arthur Spooner may well be my favourite character of all time :P), The Office US & Curb Your Enthusiasm; only bought the boxset last year, i did try Seinfeild too but couldn't get into it.

There are many others but list would be too long.

It seems to me, that all we see, is violence in movies and sex on tv...

Seasons 2-7/8ish for me. Prior to that it was finding its feet and the humour was 'in development'...season 8 and after was too hit and miss with the humour and I struggled to find anything to smirk at. I dunno if McFarlane started running out of comical zeal or something.

Parks and Recreation is the funniest show on TV right now. South Park is sometimes still funny, but its earlier episodes are hilarious.
