Does anyone else feel like this is a joke when it comes to taking down vehicles?

Not at all. It's just that; a proximity. The closer you land it, the more damage it does. A direct impact (or what would be) does considerably more damage than an RPG, and is the only thing in mass that destroys me in an ABRAMS.

You have to aim them relatively well to down aircraft though, but they do severe damage regardless of proximity as long as they're close enough to explode. But there are better things for AA anyway.

I shot 4 direct hits at a jeep and it still drove away. So I switched straight back to my RPG.

Personally, I've had way more success blowing up land vehicles with the RPG. Even with direct hits I find myself having to fire way more Proximity Launcher missiles.

I was wondering if the extra explosive damage perk has any effect on how much damage you do to vehicles?

From my experience, I've had success with RPG and Rhino drone vs land vehicles, and Proximity Launcher and Rhino drone vs air. With the proximity, I don't aim straight at the chopper unless it's standing still (which is rare); I wait and aim where the chopper might be.
