Okay there isn't a forum for this yet so thought I would start a new thread.

So it's been posted today that there are rumours for Alan Wake 2.

Personally I cannot wait.
Whats everyone else thinking?

Alan Wake was next to GTA IV the best game on xbox 360, so I cannot wait for a possible sequel :)

Far from the best game ever, ever since I saw the teaser and people chanting about how 'unique' it is I knew I had played it before, and I had. Alone in the dark did everything better than Alan wake, just Alan wake was a lot smoother and better graphics but that's not what games should be about (deadly premonition).

Alan Wake didn't really have a good story, it tried too much to have plot twists that it just ended up with huge holes, if number 2 is released it can only go a handful of ways....

*Spoiler*

He meets up with his wife, he remains trapped forever or some random bs that is just pish.

*end spoiler*

With many comments being about red dead becoming the reason it didn't sell so well, you need to think about it logically, if I've only got 50 I'm only going to buy the best game, which, red dead is. If Alan wake was released 4month prior or after would it have sold better? Probably not, reason is because it's a new IP.

Not to say alan wake wasn't fun, I did enjoy it but not to the extent of a day one purchase, after all there's only so long I can go through the same forest sprinting for 10 yards before having to breath through an inhaler.

This game is far from underrated and gets the recognition it deserved, average.

as much as i want to see a sequal its hard to imagine it will have the same shock value as the original.

I would be so disapointed if they didn't do another Alan Wake game. The first one is amazing and unlike some games where the sequel feels forced or a money grab this game lends itself to a sequel perfectly. Not to mention Remedy has proven it can make an epic sequel with Max Payne 2.

Not to say alan wake wasn't fun, I did enjoy it

Contradiction?

You also forgot about how dated Alan Wake is but I think the story was well written and excited. I also think it is unfair to compare any game to another regardless of how similar they are. Alan Wake is a good game on it's own, not because it is like Alone in the Dark or any other third person shooter/horror game. That is just my opinion though. Not worth much.

I would love AW2, but I'm not holding my breath. It was a pretty good self-contained story, like Bioshock it doesn't strictly need a sequel. We'll see I guess. Day 1 if it happens though.

I loved Alan Wake thought it was a breath of fresh air from every other game i've played,

But considering that Alan Wake was first announced in 2005 when the xbox 360 first was released, and it eventually came out in 2010 and they released it a week before Red Dead Redemption and sadly Alan Wake suffered and didnt do so well, about a month after it was release the price dropped by at least half!

So although i'd like to see another Alan Wake i'm not too sure we'll be seeing one for a while if at all! :(

I'd love nothing more than a sequel. I can't tell you how many friends have received this game from me as a gift, I must have bought at least half a dozen new copies for various people (always buy them new to contribute to sales!). Damn you, Red dead...
