View Full Version : What Games Would You Like to See?

Searched for this topic but didn't see anything.

Just wondering what games you would like to see in the near future/far future which would be compatable with Kinect. For me I would love to see CSI as I think that it would work better with Kinect rather than the controller, plus I'm a huge CSI nerd and another game would just be amazing (for me) anyway. Also, some kind of music game (possibly drums only at this stage) would be quite cool as no accessories would be needed.

Your thoughts?

I want a proper singing game, a combination of all the versions of Lips would be good, featuring 80s and 90s music, and all the number 1s etc.

I was half tempted to get the Michael Jackson game for the singing, but I'm not that big of an MJ fan to be honest.

A FPS fighting game.

Or an RPG that uses controllers for most of the game (running around, managing equipment, leveling up, ect) but uses kinect for the battles.

There will be a Star Wars game for Kinect....i think it should come out this year.

I want horror games for Kinect, you open the doors or hold the flashlight with your arm, solve riddles, pick up the enviroment...and run away from creatures or something...would be cool. Or cut out the running part and play it while you seat...

Already sorted with that one, lots of the Xbox magazines have been saying this is one of the titles they wish to see. Could be promising! :)

They'll make it easy, I'm sure, if they ever do that.

I remember an arcade game, where you bend down and you take cover, and when you stand, you move on. (Little less advanced than that, but that could be an idea)

Survival horror could potentially be terrifying on the Kinect, but it would be very difficult. Mostly because the Kinect needs to be played in full light, and horror games are best played in the dark. So I think it would be quite difficult to really get into the atmosphere of it. If it could be done, though...

I've not had that good of luck. But I'll keep hoping.

A game that I would love to see, but wouldn't ever be commercially viable is "Symphonic Hero," where you play the conductor of a orchestra. You can move up from chamber music to epic 80 minute Mahler symphonies. That would be awesome.

Besides all those family and party games a horror game would be great. I pretty much agree with what TAI JASON already mentioned.

Something with a AlanWake-Condemned-like atmoshpere and world where you interact with your body like open doors, dodge incoming attacks, hold and aim your flashlight/weapons, escape scenes where you have to run and jump over hurdles etc., chapters where you have to fight against someone and so on. There are lots of options to make a good horror game for kinect as long everything works fine and of course with a solid suitable story.

I honestly don't see how it would work well. One of the main draws of horror games is stuff thats behind you. Turning around however causes you to lose sight of the TV. Working around that by altering the controls would mess up gameplay. I'd like to see it work, but I think we're a generation or 2 away from getting a truely immersive body-motion horror game that has the quality of an alan wake.

I agree. I also think that the sense of fear that you feel when you play a really good horror game is completely compatible with playing the Kinect. I'm thinking of the best survival horror game I've ever played - Amnesia: The Dark Descent. In that game, the most terrifying moments for me have been when you know there's something right behind you, and you just have to take a chance, run and jump. These moments have brought real fear to me, but if I had been running & jumping in place, that would, strangely enough, have broken the immersion of the game. If I'm playing something with a keyboard or a controller, I can completely divorce my body from the game and put my mind into it. But if my body is forced to become part of the game, I can't make that same disconnect, and being so vividly aware that my body isn't actually in peril or that I'm not touching something horrifying would make the game less enjoyable. The simple vibration of a controller in your hand brings a lot more feedback to the brain, when you're connected, than one might think.

Besides the fact that it's hard to realise a game with a full 360 degree sight I don't think it's impossibile to make a solid horror game that fits fine with kinect (and our actual generation has nothing to do with that cause when we turn us around we'll always have our back in front of the TV). I mean the Wii has lots of horror games and when it's possibile for the Wii then of course with Kinect too. As long there is no adequate game out there we'll never see how it's going to work.

The Wii uses controllers. You use those controllers to move, do actions, and to play the game.

The Kinect is a different story. It depends on your motion.

I bet the next thing they come out with will be an add-on for the Kinect, such as a gun model or stick model that will be recognized by the Kinect, whether by sight or by wireless feed, and that will be integrated into the game.

Actually the Wii Nunchuck is a 'motion controller', it felt for me like a mix between motion and analog controls. I agree it won't take any longer that something is coming out that makes a fixed movement more accurate on the screen. If it's now a horror game or another adventure/shooter game my main problem with kinect is we still have no really storybased game as I know them from the Wii and I think there is definitely potential and demand for it.

I know the whole appeal to Kinect was to be completely controller free, but I hope for a weapon peripheral-like sony's sharpshooter. I love rail shooter's and loved playing those sequences on Killzone 3 with the Move. I would love to see Resident Evil-esque type games. Something along the lines of Fatal Frame.

A good game for the Kinect IMO would be a different version of the SAW games, where you have to escape traps etc or do the motions to put characters into traps. The only problem would be the practicalilty of it.

I want a remake or sequel to N.U.D.E @ (with an american release this time.)

For those that aren't familiar with it, this was a 2003 Original Xbox game that utilized Speech to train language and behavior to an in-game android called P.A.S.S

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N.U.D.E.@_Natural_Ultimate_Digital_Experiment

For a sequel, I would like for it to maintain the same basic premise of having to teach various characters how to speak and perform various functions; This time, however, it would utilize a speech engine that implements the entire English language (thus giving the ability to teach the android more complex and sophisticated words.) On top of that, I could see it using the motion controls to teach her how to perform various motions and movements such as flipping the bird, shaking hands, and saluting or even sign language. On top of that, implementing the scanner feature would allow you to add multiple objects to the world that developers didn't design beforehand and you would be able to teach her how to use these as well (in theory)

Instead of the office setting from before, I would like a large variety of settings, perhaps a sandbox setting. You would be able to take her to work, home, school, the park, a cafe, or any number of unique places that could give her learning opportunities.

Unfortunately I can see people wanting this to be an adult only game so they can get her naked. have sex with her and teach her to do dirty things. I personally don't care if they include that or not as I enjoyed the experience of trying to teach with or without the option of being perverted in the process, but it's always one more possibility, perhaps in a special AO only version of the game (This way it wouldn't be hurt by retailers not carrying it in stores. AO version could be sold on their website.)

I would, however, like the game to be highly customizable. Preferably keep the attractive female android concept, but add customization to make them look how you want. Could also add males for the female players. On top of that, I would like a sort of sims-like feature where I could customize the various setting in your world such as your work office and your home. Perhaps you could even own your own business and part of the game would be managing it and teaching the P.A.S.S to run it as well.)

Yes, that would be a good idea, but since Ensemble Studios splitt up, there is hardly a chance.

But one of the developers mentioned a time ago, that a Halo Wars 2 would have Kinect support. I think that would be pretty cool, since Halo Wars was a real good RTS for a console game.

I'd like to see a sports trainer like they had for wii the NFL training camp. I never got to play, but it looked good...

A lot of people said RPGs, like fable 4 is supposed to utilize the kinect. But I feel, when I sit down to play a game, I want to just sit down and play a game...

I usually don't get to play xbox until my boys are asleep, so utilizing an rpg isn't ideal for me unless it's something you can turn on and off. Because as a kid, I always remember thinking it'd be cool to be a part of the game.

I'm surprised no one said this sooner. An RTS would be great on Kinect, it would be like having a mouse to control everything, even get it to recognize both hands, that would be a game changer!

Ever since I saw the Kinect in action I've been thinking that it would be great for a strategy game. One where you could move the troops with hand motions and zoom in and out of the map.

Also it could be good for a flight sim or a space flight sim.... although I admit I'd never play those.
