Instead of a Continental Army uniform? WTF Microsoft?! Even though this theme's section is American History, it doesn't even includes the Union's uniform.

im sorry im not american but i thought independence day over there celebrated americas independence from britain in 1776, not the norths victory over the south in 1865, so why would a confederate uniform be offensive on independence day? im not trying to kick off, just wondering why its such a big deal.

I'm not American either but I know most of world's History and politics. A bit long to explain History but you might want to google.

you might want to use google too...

Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_holidays_in_the_United_States) in the United States (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States) commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Declaration_of_Independence) on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Great_Britain).Source: LINK (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independence_Day_%28United_States%29)

Civil War didn't have anything to do with our independence since we already had it. Although I can see why you would wonder why a Confederate uniform and not a Union one.

Yeah, I know the difference between the Revolutionary War and the Civil War (I mentioned Continental Army in my first post, which is the Blue Coat uniform in the store). I'm actually more offended they included the Confederate uniform but not the Union.

But they added this American History section in the avatar store in time for Independence Day.

I believe your confusing this being released for the 4th of July with the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War

This stuff was released on the marketplace for American History, so there is other items on the marketplace that have to do with American History and a confederate uniform was one of them. They just came out with it near Independence day since that is very important in American History.

I don't think its such a big deal, civil war had nothing to do with the battle for independence from Britain they are around 50 years apart

1776 to 1861.....yep...right about 50 years if you do the math in Georgia.

I'm pretty sure he was just getting that off the top of his head... It's not like everyone actually memorizes the EXACT dates of stuff like this.

But this isn't that big of a deal to me; I don't ever plan on paying for avatar clothing or accessories.

lol I have nothing valuable to add to this conversation, but I just have to say that when I saw "Confederate" in the topic name, I thought someone actually took the time to make a post about how awesome I am. :P lol
