I see why the rockstar pass was only $10.. these dlc cases are anemic. finished this in 15 min no lie. I need to stop gettin my hopes up. please tell me there'll be one more case.. an epic one tho.

sidenote: the achievements are pathetically easy to unlock.

They should've released the arson one last IMO.
I thought the explosion and aftermath was epic!

and I thought that case was short! but between nicholson and reefer, I agree with you- I would've saved nicholson for last. reefer is a joke.

Totally agree. Took me 20-30mins, and i missed one achievement (Forcible Rear Entry).

Disappointed with this case.

When you rolled up on the street in that case i sort of got a deja vu feeling, i watched some documentary about the Oklahoma bombing a couple of weeks ago.

Time to download Reefer madness :) still got plenty of gametime left in this game

Not a good DLC. Only one interrogation. I breezed through this whole thing. I guess you can really tell that R* has really cut ties with Team Bondi. Shame things ended this way, both in game and out.

This DLC was too short and it felt rushed. I mean there are 4 locations to visit and investigate.

The only good thing was the ending

SPOILER ALERT

Where it showed how corrupt the police force and the vice squad was.

It was short but it was alright. At the end of the day theres only so much you can expect from single case DLC's.

In a recent Game Informer magazine i read it said something about two entire desks (burglary and something else) that were left out of the game. I would much rather pay 800 or even 1200 points and have one of those desks as a dlc as opposed to 340 for one short case.

Yeah I re-rented the game from GameFly on Saturday, got it on Monday, completed today and sent it back already. A bit disappointing after the regular game itself was pretty cool.

That was a little disappointing... Seemed like a tutorial level focusing on how to shoot at people.

I agree that Nicholson Electroplating would have made a better final case. The explosion and seeing the Spruce Goose meant it had a much more grand scale. Ah well. Loved the game overall.

The shootout at the end was awesome and I enjoyed being in a police raid. In the end, if they made these DLC cases all epic it'd be weird when you're playing through the story and these "filler" cases were bigger and better than the ones that have to do with the main story.

A DLC for the cut desk(s) would be perfect.

yeah it was very short, but I cant complain too much since i got the R* pass when it was cheap, so all in all Id say I got my moneys worth. IMO the pass was a great deal, compared to other crap that comes out where the publisher/developer just think that any DLC they produce is worth 800 MSP (Fallout NV i'm looking at you, among others) as if it is the standard, regardless of length or quality

The 5 Star Rating of this Case is longer then only "Achievement run"

Achievement run - 2 Question in 1 Inter. and 12(of13) Clues (4 Star Rating)

5 Star run - 9 Question in 3 Inter. and 13 Clues

Way too short and easy and got all achievements in 1 run.

Next game i want less but longer and harder missions where you get the odd case that has 5 or 6 suspects or you know who did it early on but have to work really hard to get the clue to nail the guy/girl.

Very dissapointed by the dlc for this especially since rockstar published the game and they usually have very standards for dlc. look at RDR and what they did with that, and there is more on the way. These cases seemed to have been left out of the game to coin in a few bucks which is probably related to them rushing the game out and the troubled development cycle. that is fair enough as the game cost a fortune to make and by purchasing the rockstar pass it will encorge them to do more with different dlc in the coming months.

That would take 6-10 GB of data. There's no way in hell they would release a DLC that big.

As for the achievements for this one. PATHETIC. Just like ALL the DLC achievements.

Everybody complaining about how short it was, did you go to the Market first? If so, then you skipped out on a good 10-15 more minutes of gameplay. There's two more interrogations and a little extra stuff at the soup factory.

It was short, but since it was Vice, it doesn't bother me. Shorter cases means less time with that massive piece of shit Roy.

There's two more interrogations and a little extra stuff at the soup factory. No, I went to the market first because that was an achievement (and ended up with the 12/13 clues 2/2 questions ending). Thanks for the heads up, I'll have to play again even though it means more time in Roy Hell.

So having at least one entire desk cut makes sense. It would be nice to see it as DLC if possible, although with all the reports of how shit a boss McNamara is and how Rockstar wants nothing more to do with Team Bondi, I won't be holding my breath for that.

For anyone thinking about selling the game now is a very good time. I just got back from a local game store with $30 store credit for it.

The guy behind the desk said they got a lot of them coming in for trades but since they're still selling strongly they can offer good money for used copies.

They should make one more homicide case, make it like a quadruple homicide or something like that. I know Homicide has the most cases in the story but no dlc based on the homicide desk! But that's just something I would like to see haha.

Necrophage33
07-13-2011, 04:10 PM
Perhaps I'm wrong, but all these DLC cases were just cases that were cut from the main game. So to all these people saying "These cases are too short and not epic enough!" Of course they aren't epic. They were cases cut from the main game and later released as DLC. There isn't anything that was supposed to be special about them, other than they didn't make the cut into the main game.

They probably didn't do any homicide DLC because all of the homicide cases are tied together and come together with the final homicide case, which works really well when playing through the homicide cases. It was pretty clear that someone else was committing the murders, at least to me. Having a random DLC case in between would just make it confusing and it'd be out of place.

They made a statement as wide open as the universe is big, they didn't confirm anything so ummmmmm no we don't know for a fact that there is more DLC.

It could be a standalone retail release for all we know. If they even bother going through with it.

Yeah Reefer Madness did feel 'blink and you'll miss it' short, I too felt that Nicholson Electroplating would have been a far greater finale to the hopefully first batch of DLC.

Obviously as people know these are leftovers from the original game packaged as DLC, but would love to see some DLC made for an add-on release not just reworked original content that was missed.

Would love to see a GTA IV 'Ballad of Gay Tony' style stand-alone disc package of cases, or Red Dead 'Undead Nightmare Collection' style release.

Really? How exactly do we "obviously" know this?

The fact that the burglary and fraud desks were cut is something that we know.

So please, share with us how we know for a fact that the four DLC were cut from the game.

FreeFool

I thought they were leftovers to be honest, as it does seem they were cut, just like scenes are in movies. It certainly leans toward them being cut rather than being made as intentional DLC.

A separate desk, different character, different plot - would of been a good direction to go in. They could of used one of the other cops quite easily, and if that plot inter-twined with Phelps's investigations, then that could of been real intrigue.

No, we got leftovers.

I was disappointed a little with Reefer Madness as well, it was way too short and the achievements were so easy to get! Where's the toughness of "Bulletproof Windshield", which took me like 20 tries to get?

I thought Nicholson Electroplating was so much better...the huge explosion, that was awesome.

Would love to see a GTA IV 'Ballad of Gay Tony' style stand-alone disc package of cases, or Red Dead 'Undead Nightmare Collection' style release.

As it stands the game generally follows a one desk per disc rule with a little overlap here and there. An add-on content pack would work well if the Burglary and Bunco desks would fit on one dvd per desk. Hopefully they'll follow GTA IV and RDR and release DLC and disc sets for these desks.

It wouldn't be anywhere near that big, the size of the game comes from the city itself, as thats on disc already then they wouldn't include it, the size of a whole new desk with say 4-5 cases would be roughly the size of 5 DLC releases.

This DLC was really disappointing. I thought it was short and the story wasn't really that engaging to me. The best DLC in my opinion was "The Naked City." That one felt like a good, substantial case. This felt like a brief, filler case.
