View Full Version : How long has it taken to get your current gamerscore?

Just a question, because my friends seem to think its excessive to have a gamerscore like mine with only 3 months of Xbox. So I'm curious if I'm above average or they just all suck...

Just shy of 3 months. I'm an Xbox noob :)

Some people get there achievments fast some not so fast. I have been an xbox member since March 2006 and im on 90.000 something. There are people who have been live members for a lot less time than me and have much higher gamerscores.

It really depend on whether you play for the achievements. You'll get maybe around 200 - 300 :gsicon: just for campaign. If that's the case, you need to play lot of game just to reach 2k or 3k :gsicon:.

I try to maximize the :gsicon:, so it takes time to achieve high GS. And playing few games doesn't help either.

5 years or so, however long 360 has been around.

If you were serious about getting a high GS fast as a new gamer. You can get over 10k GS in 24 hours. So 5k in 3 months ain't really over the top.

I've been through 4 Gamertags since 2006 so, my achievement score isn't what it should be 50,000+. I'm not big into achievements these days though so, I'm not too fussed about it. This gamertag I've had since early 2010 I believe.

About two and half years now. I do rent games though so that is why my gamerscore is in the 56k mark

I've had Xbox Live since it launched in 2002 for the old Xbox. I got a 360 shortly after launch but I didn't start score whoring until late 2008. I had about 35K back then and now I have 175K. So 35K in the first 3 years and 140K in the second 3 years. I was on track for 200K by New Year's but I had to cancel my gamefly because I can't afford it anymore. Wouldn't have been much longer before I got rid of it anyway, most of the easy 1000s have dried up for me by now.

I think 4 years going on 5 in a couple months.

For about the first 6 or so months of first getting an xbox, I didn't really go for achievements, then after hitting 100k I slowed down a lot. Now I am slightly getting back on track and going for more achievements.

KeepEmRolling

Around 5.5 years for me. I played PSU for over 3,000 hours though, only gaining 1100 GS from it.

2 years and a few months.

Same here. I didn't really pay attention to the gamerscore though for the first few months, until I moved and was able to connect to Live.

In my case, I love going after reasonable achievements in games I like, but don't play any games only for the achievements. Gaming time also limited due to working full-time.

I've had this account for about 3-1/2 years. I'd have more if I want for more of the quick, easy achievements, but I'm content with my current rate and the fact that a lot of my 1Ks are on games that require a bit of time into them (I've completed 8 Dynasty Warriors titles for instance).

Ive got a xbox 360 february 2009. At first i was just playin games to play them. Then i noticed the achievements. So i just started playin any games i could get my hands on just to say i got an achievement on it. Then i got xbox live february 2010. I had about 40000gs when i signed up for live. I just now got to the point where i want to try to complete games so my gs will slow down because i am goin back to play games. everyone just goes at their own rate.

5000 isn't much, if I got into achievements sooner I would have had more gamerscore within a month, my first few months were like 300-2000 gamerscore XD I was still into PS3 back when I got the 360.

I got my 360 on 14th April 2008, so it's taken 3 years and 3 months. Around 23,000 of my gamerscore was gained during the 2 months of GSL8 though. Outside of that I only play games that I enjoy, and very rarely play to specifically get achievements.

If I didn't have a PS3 my gamerscore would be quite a bit higher too, obviously.

I have been going for gamerscore for barely over 3 years. I started trying to get gamerscore when I was cruising through the internet and found this site. I had around 10,000 gamer score when I found this site so I figure that I've been averaging 56,000 points a year since then... or 1,000 a week :)

I'm just nearing 45,000:gsicon: and I created this account roughly 20 months ago. I don't play easy games soley for gamerscore (Disney, Avatar, etc); I only put games in my disc tray that are of high interest to me or have high replay value, regardless of how difficult the achievements are.

Also depends if you're just popping games in to eek out some easy gamerscore before moving on. I play my games to as close to 100% as I can manage/stand.

Anyway, for me, since Oct 2009.

About 4 years I think. Only really been achievement hunting for the last year though, and that was mainly going through old games to scrounge more points rather than buying easy 1k's (although I do have a few easy ones I bought recently).

Motorexskygtr32
07-18-2011, 08:41 AM
I have had this xbox 360 for 4 years now so this gamertag I am using is my third one. In reality, if it is 1 gamertag that I could have stick with for 4 years, my GS would be 87,000 total.

I have been using my current gamertag for a year and 4 months now. I am more into completion 100% games as much as I can. I really don't go for easy 1k games to rack up more gamescore. So therefore, I am a completionist!

I owned a 360 back in 2006, then got rid of it after only having it for 6 months max. Got one for Christmas 2010, and have kept that one.

I think it really depends on how often you play. I play very casually, so my score (1450 I think?) is lower than I would even think it would be.

3 Years so far, should be about 4 just after Christmas.
My first year I got like 10 or 20k at most, second year I jumped to about 30k, then between the end of my second year/last year and now, I've jumped drastically, I only hit 70k the other day and I'm nearly already on 72k.

um, mine's been nearly 3 years. I never used to go for 100% completion cos i couldn't be bothered, it's only in say the last 8 months or so that i've bothered to complete any of my games fully so that's why it's a bit shoddy at 18,000ish.

Just over 5 years I think. Pretty sure my first achievements were earned back in June 2006.

I was skimming through the games that I played a long time ago, and the earlier I found was an achievement on 1/29/2006, but I couldn't find another achievement earlier than June (including the rest of the achievements for the game that had 1/29) so I think that's somehow a glitch on Xbox.com that I'm looking at.

It kind of varies though. I go through periods of time where I don't really play much, and periods where I play a lot in a row, like recently. I'd gained quite a few thousand gamerscore in the last couple of months, which is pretty fast for me.

MxPx
07-21-2011, 05:20 AM
Technically...8 years.

But I don't think achievements existed for the first few years of XBL.

But for the record, I should be closer to about 20k GS, as I achieved about 15k on my buddy's xbox/acct that he left at my house for 3 years...lmao

TVthePunisher
07-21-2011, 10:08 AM
Well I got my first 360 in 2007...at the time I really didn't give thought to gamerscore until I kept seeing these things pop when I did stuff in Dead Rising. After awhile I started to try for them...and I'd say at first I got the achievements as kind of proof that I did something difficult or challenging to brag amongst friends (pretty much everything I've done in Gears was for pride)...but then I started unlocking them seeking both completion and improving my gamerscore.

With several lengthy breaks in between, it's taken me nearly 4 years for 31K. I don't buy a lot of games, nor rent for that matter...I'm sure if I kept the pace up regularly I'd be over a 100K, hell maybe even 200K...but certainly much higher than 31K. Doesn't matter though, proud of what I've earned...=)

My gaming score is just under 39'000 and that took me 3 years to get. I have about 7 games that have every achievement on. I dont understand why it bothers people so much. Its just a number on your account to me. It doesn't matter what achievements you have, what matters is how you play the game.

Had an xbox since October 2008
Had XBox Live since about Jan 2009
So 2 2/3 years roughly to get 52k
Its tended to slow down I think since I think in my first year of live I got about 30k (before I had live I only owned about 3 titles, so had about 1000 total GS)
More of a completitionsit than outright gamerscore whore and i don't play crap games for score(mostly)
And 600 hours of SoulCalibur IV and 33 days of Gears 2 have also slowed down achievement whoring :)

They all suck dude. Its not excessive at all. I went up 10K in like a 1 month span because I wanted to. But overall it's taken 5 years to reach 63K, although I didn't play at all for an entire year due to school/girlfriend - total bullshit now, seeing as we ain't together lmao/work.

I didn't how to get online at the time so my dad was helping me to figure out how to connect the X360 online so we could use our just gotten 12 month gold membership but he ended up deleting my profile :( I don't remember how many achievements I lost but I think it was like about 6000. GS6000=R.I.P. :'(

I had to play the games again so I could get some back but eventually got bored and I only finished the games.

Well let's see here, I started getting achievements when I first joined live and according to that big white number in the corner of your profile, I've been with live for 2 years at least. So yeah, there's your answer haha.

6 month for me!

Completed all but 5/6 games on my profile (currently working on them) I would probably have finished them by now too if I didn't play battlefield, backbreaker etc online so much.

Only game I have which I may never complete is hard corps.... Whole game, one life...... Dont think I have it in me.

Oh and I havnt played any shitty games either ala king kong, avatar etc, I only play games I know I'll love and have the patience to complete, most favourite was way of the samurai 3, top game.

Almost 23,24 months, at first I didn't care about the achievements but sometime I was like "what should I do..? I guess try some achievements"

My profile on my Xbox says 4 years, but im sure its 5. It would probably be a lot less if i hadnt spent 2 years unemployed rinsing the shit out of my Xbox.

I have had four accounts since launch. It took me two years to get the gamerscore I have now.

I got to around 7k in a matter of my first 6 months or so. Had all the time in the world to play after work and crap. (helped that 2 of my very first games combined were ~4k points. lol)

Then I took a year off when my son was born. Now I only get to play after he goes to bed on the weekends, so the last 3k I managed to get in 4 months. (with only 2 games... Mafia 2 and The Godfather)

For about the first 3 years of my current gamertag, i didnt really care about gamerscore, and i was at about 6000+ gamerscore. It hasnt been until about the last 2 years that ive really started increasing my gamerscore to where it is now.

Im only at about 8800 and been on XBL for 2.5 yrs now. Don't really have the time to be hunting all of these achievements! I just like to have fun while I'm playing.

To get to where I am now, 33340G, it's taken just over a year, but I have friends who have had Live for over 2 years and are still below 10,000G, mainly because the only sort of games they play are Fifa and CoD games :p
