i was wondering if someone could explain the skills a bit more. obviously if you have played with only one or two characters you could give your thoughts but not as much as someone who has played as all four. i just want to know a little more about the characters abilities/skills before i decide who to play, i know who is labeled as what (i.e. logan is the jack of all trades) but thats too vague for me. ;)

Thanks

They are basically strong with a different weapon group and that will tailor their combat skill tree accordingly.

I forget which is which right now: but I'm playing as the Korean cop and she is good with sharp weapons, so her combat skills give bonuses when using them. Sam is good with blunt weapons, so his skill tree reflects that and the other two have guns and ranged attacks (throwing stuff, ha ha) respectively. Though being good with guns is fairly pointless IMO as they are amazingly rare and pretty weak.

Apologies if I can't be more detailed or messed anything up - I've been playing the game solidly for the last few days and had a late night to get the review done in time. Ha ha, I'm a bit tired.

Jackanape summed it up pretty well. Although the guns are pretty weak (against zombies) they are only rare in the first Act. Still pretty pointless having that as your specialty though

Not really, I found a few blueprints where I can make ammo, so if I run out, I can just make more. Plus the Fury ability gives you a gun during the mode whether you have one or not.

I wondered about this as well. Do headshots matter with guns at all? Is there a significally larger bonus to damage when landing one? Also, does the lady with the Firearms speciality get damage bonuses and etcetera? If so, it might not be that bad to be a Firearms specialist. If she can stay as strong and powerful as the other three through levelling up.

Yes headshots matter. Headshots are 1 hit kill unless it's like an actual target you have to kill for a quest. Every gun has sway so it's not simple, but once you get use to it, it's not too hard to get headshots.

I'm assuming you're playing as Xian in that case. I played as Sam B. and I found one gun before Act II and I found all ammo mods in the later parts of the game. It's pretty cool that you get guns in fury mode

Head shots are definitely not one shot kills with all characters in that case. Or maybe it's just because my enemies are all around level 40 at the moment

Headshots aren't one shot kills against zombies. Maybe you just have an awesome gun for the level you're on. My magnums power is over a thousand but it still takes two or three head shots to take most of em down coz my enemies are around level 40 now. But most humans die with a single headshot :)

Yeah my bad, I meant normal humans. They always die with one shot, zombies take a few though.

Do gun's and ammo become more common as the game progresses? Stuck between choosing Purna and the Chinese cop.

Yeah they do mate. As soon as you start versing humans. It escalates slowly from there. I'd say those characters would have perks early on to introduce firearms into the gameplay. Not sure tho as I used Sam (Blunt force weapons)
