In the third paragraph of the article, THQ CEO Brian Farrell, says they have 40 weeks of DLC planned for the game after it releases.

I don't know how you guys feel, but I'm broke as hell, and have no clue how in the hell I'd afford 40 weeks of DLC.

Maybe he means they have some/a few pieces of DLC planned, the last of which will be released 40 weeks after launch?

I think all of it was leaked. I am not posting a source, as I have witnessed this particular website get edited out of posts, so you will need to Google around for it.

Co-Op PackSometimes all it takes is a friend at your back to help you through the toughest situations. With the Co-Op Pack you can do just that. Play entirely through Saints Row: The Third with your co-op partner and together help the Saints climb once more to the top.

You won't go unnoticed in the bold and pimpalicious outfit good enough to be called The "Z". Arm yourself with the super flashy Bling Shotgun and your bullets won't be the only thing that makes an impact.
Co-op DLC? Really? Poor move, regardless of whether it is for free or not.

Co-op DLC? Really? Poor move, regardless of whether it is for free or not.

Co-op post launch isn't unheard of, hopefully it's quite soon after release or even at launch for free. A lot of that DLC seems like optional gameplay enhancers like weapons, outfits etc. so people are under no obligation to purchase it.

If it was missions/achievements on the other hand, I would be PISSED.

One of the last THQ games i got was UFC 2011 (i know, that was forever ago), and it came with a pass for online, meaning if you didnt buy the game, you have to pay for it, which has become almost standard with big games with multiplayer nowadays. :/

So, as for the Co-op DLC pack, my guess is its like an online pass for anybody who didnt buy the game fresh. If its not though, shiiiit.

Saints, I love you, ive been true to you for a very long time, you made me get my first 360, but pleeeease. Dont make us pay for online, especially when all it is is co-op.

As for the other DLC packs, it kinda makes me think, that later on, there may be an ultimate edition, you know? Like how GOTY's have all the dlc, they might release a Saints Row the Third - Ultimate edition, where most, if not all, dlc will be on it, or as a disc to download.

Honestly though, I love Saints, and although their dlc packs lately have stunk, id still get quite a few of these. Hopefully theyre not too much. even at 80 points each, thats still 40 bucks. :/

12 packs (that are listed above) at 80 points each = 960 MSP. Where do you live that 960 MSP = 40 bucks? :p

i think he means 800...

Still doesn't equal 40 bucks :P

I seriously hope these packs don't cost 800 MSP, that's a bit steep for outfits/vehicles/weapons that I can guarantee are already on the disk.

hope its not too expensive, or at least have a season pass like all the other games are having.

Maybe they will do it like Splinter cell conviction did? Each week they gave you a new gun or outfit you could unlock, Which is pretty cool but only saints would do it with bigger things unlocking. i really do not see them releasing things for 40 weeks at 800msp each unless they are looking to Go head to head with EA and Activision For "Most Greedy bastard of the year Award"

I hope your right. I wouldn't be able to afford all the content seperatly.

I forgot to quote you, but whoever said it's not $40, he was saying that because it is said to be 40 weeks of DLC, each week being 80 MSP (1 USD), it would be $40 total. Also, as for the Co-op DLC, well that is a poor move, the only thing I can think of is maybe it being a DLC gave them more room to work on whatever else they wanted to put in on the disc. Other than that I have no idea.

When I said $40, I was assuming that there would be a dlc pack each of the 40 weeks, hence why the title of the topic said 40 weeks of dlc >.< I didnt notice that the twelve listed were the only dlcs they planned >.<

And, I didnt notice, but Axel definitely got what I was trying to say. I didnt read his post before I posted this >.< (this is an edit) but anyways.WOOOOOOO, SAAAAAINTS!!

I really hope it'S like splinter cell and it's gonna be all free stuff

I hate to say , but we pay about 70-80$ per game , I know the people work hard for building the game. But most of the time the add-on are finish when the game went gold , they just take they time to release it in order to tweak it more.

I can understand when a DLC comes out after a game has been released, but why would they make DLC before even finishing the game ... why not just have them on the disc already?

Just get the season pass and you should be fine, and as for the co-op dlc, I think they're taking the route of the second one and making it co-op specific missions/activities, like when you had to get johnny out of the hospital, where either you or your frind were upstairs or down stairs, and one had to get the chopper. nah-mean?

Wow, now that's gotta be some crazy milking! Maybe this will go for 1750 w/ 99 achievements! Now, "40 weeks", that there is already a hint that the devs. planned to milk it or take out content from the retail version. Because, how can anyone foresee 40 weeks? DAMN!

40 Weeks of DLC.... that just makes me want to wait for a game of the year edition. one weeks is a t-shirt and next with its dlc pants.

They released thirty items of Gears 3 DLC the day before it came out. MS is crazy with how much they prop Gears up because it is the only first party game they have coming out this Holiday.

I just don't like seeing the stuff put so near release since it was obvious that the game was done. They pretty much are crying for you to pirate the game and items.

maybe if we are lucky they will include a pack full of previous saints row character charicatures as playable mascots, similar to our avatar sporting a johnny gat mask as an avatar award, except they could do that in game

If the base game is good and they offer a reasonable price for this content they can have my money, if it's anything like Saints Row 2 I logged a lot of hours in that game and I'm happy to pay for additional content, but only for a good price, 800 points a piece is not a good price, a season pass would be nice in this instance.
