I've been playing with photoshop for a while, and making sigs seems to be the best way to get the hang of things. I didn't realize I had made so many of them. I'm, for the most part, a one-trick-pony, but I'm learning. Constructive criticism is always good.

In the order I made them!

You know, you're the first person besides me to say something positive about my border style. You get ten points. :woop:

A couple more, I decided to play with the clone stamp tool. (The second one is obviously a joke - I was bored.)

Finally!

Using a combination of ideas I've seen around the boards, I've finally been able to make one with which I am entirely satisfied:

http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e372/theforcemonkey/KOTORIIISig.jpg

Granted, it does look like something out of Picasso's blue period, but it's perfect for me. (My lightsabers in any Star Wars game are always blue, and of course, I have the blue Force FX sabers at home.)

I'm so stoked about this one. However, I'm always looking to make it bigger and badder - which is perhaps the reason I've spent so many MS points on gamerpics - I constantly need new ones! So let's say for a minute, I wanted to take this sig, and make my main Jedi, or my text, explode out of it - any ideas?

It's too cluttered.. and you can tell that one jedi chick was just pasted on, seeing that the lightsaber stops.

I'm getting a hint that you like Star Wars.. a tip, use more than just liquify of your backgrounds.. you can get a way better look if you use more filters. Not trying to bring you down, just a pointer.

Something that isn't Star Wars!

http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e372/theforcemonkey/GambitSig.jpg

I tried to make it look like it was exploding, but I think it turned out messy instead. Still, it's different, and I think I learned some things from it. Plus, you gotta love Gambit.

It took a while, but how's this?

http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e372/theforcemonkey/KOTORIIISigUpdated.jpg

I know what you mean about the clutter in the background, but it took forever, and I didn't want to mess with it. However, I gave the jedi's lightsaber a beginning and an end.

Sidebar, I really appreciate all the help and suggestions. Some of the tutorials floating around here are really good. Anyone have any more I can look through?

They are all great sigs, but I'd consider the position of some of your text and the way it appears.

Like on the Halo one, the design is incredbile but the text gets over the middle slightly. if you made the text smaller and kept it right aligned, I'm sure it would be a lot better :)

Incredible huh? You get a cookie!

Anyway, I'm working on a Roger Rabbit sig (if you've got pics or renders, please send them to me,) but in the interim, I thought I'd post something a little different.

I also dabble in film editing - making trailers and music videos and whatnot. So while I'm working on new sigs, here're some videos.

Major Props dude. Fellow Star Wars Fan as well.

Your signatures are great. Only suggestion, would be to not stop, but less use the Liquify button.

And on your first Star Wars video, take a look at some Halo montages, as it shows how alot of good ones come along, and follow it. For example, on any heavy beats, something really cool happens, and the rest could be filler stuff.

And where did you get this clips from Star Wars?

Well, here's my first attempt at a Roger Rabbit themed sig:

http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e372/theforcemonkey/JessicaRabbitSig.jpg

I'm moderately pleased with the way it turned out, especially considering that pickins were pretty slim when it came to non-pornographic pictures.

Notice - no liquification! :woop:

I tried to make it look sepia and grainy, like a 40's movie. Didn't come out quite how I was expecting - but you can at least tell what I was going for.

that Jessica Rabbit one is pretty good, I like the effect you were aiming at and think overall it turned out decent - the one thing I dont like is the image on the left looks like it has an imbossed edge or something ... not really good imo - also the quote is priceless - you are now the proud owner of my new Sig quote.

one thing I think you need to improve is the placement and blending of tect, but keep up the great work.

EDIT : I also just looked at your latest sigs, I see alot of improvement man, your text placement and blending is getting better =)

Glad you liked my quote. ;)

I know exactly what you mean about the picture on the left - I made it like that to get it to blend in with the rest of the sig, but only because I couldn't find a better picture. Maybe I'll play with it a little bit. (I rushed the text on that one too - that's probably what you're noticing.) Thanks for the input!

EDIT:

I'm still not super happy about the foreground picture, but it's the best I could find.
I found an awesome 20s text, that I think totally works for this one. Better though, yeah?

Anyone have a good picture of Jessica I could throw in the foreground other than that one?

I'd love to use this one, but I can't until I'm completely happy with it.

It's pretty good. I would take out the Geth on the right, move the Adept a little closer to the center and take out the semi-transparent Normandy in the background.

Maybe throw a C4D set to Luminosity in it's place?

EDIT: Heck, you could heighten the opacity of the Normandy and set it to Luminosity and use the ship itself as a C4D... it has the angles for it.
