Gwill
Hey guys, I come to you today to ask your feedback regarding your own experience. We played the entire game on Insane difficulty setting with three friends, and everything was just a breeze (even if some parts required a few tries). We are now facing the final boss, for two entire evenings, and we just can't defeat it. To be really clear with you, I won't accept any solution like "Get this or this mutator", "Downgrade the difficulty for all players but one". We want to defeat it fair and square. We tried to use the elevator as a cover, it works quite OK and we managed to get the boss to its third phase (attacking the tower), but the cover is quite buggy and the inner side is to exposed to Palace Guards' attacks. Did you find any other solution ? P.S. : Please, if you managed to finish it in a certain way in Hardcore, please try it on Insane before suggesting it. I browsed the web for two hours yesterday, and got quickly pissed by those guys posting "Oh noob, this boss is so easy to kill, I just killed it on Hardcore with the IA". Splitting Void
http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=332863 Otherwise you'll end up breaking your entire Xbox.
oldskoolforever
Obviously you've searched around and read up on various tactics. It took me about 30 attempts to get this done on Insane. I tried solo with the bots which seemed to work ok for a while as they took care of the guards better, but they didn't help at all with the queen so it was down to me to use the hammer & refill it. In the end, she always broke through on the tower as the bots didn't help enough. So, i eventually did it by joining 3 other players who were half way through the fight. Teamwork was the key i think, two of us had a hammer and stayed by the elevator and used the cover to bring the queen down and both apply the hammer. The other two were out taking up the guards attention. The most important bit was when the queen jumped onto the tower, to make sure more than 1 person is shooting to get her down as quick as possible. Also not to hang around after that and try to bring her down quickly to get another hammer in as soon as you can. Obviously during all this, its essential to try and get ammo and refill the hammer where possible. Somehow with 2 of us using the hammer, we finally brought her down, don't think i've ever been so happy to see that cutscene, lol. Felt harder than Mile High Club on COD4 ! Good luck, i'm sure you'll crack it soon enough.

ApocalypticJoker
when the hammer is available, use it on the guards. it sounds crazy but the hammer respawns every 30 seconds so if you use it efficiently you'll never run out (so to speak). since you have more than one human player it's best to divide the work: - after knocking the Tempest down the first time and knocking it off the tower, split up into two teams - Team A should deal with Myyrah's Tempest and Team B deals with guards and shriekers - when the Tempest lands, ONE person from Team A hammers it while the other three provide cover fire (if you want give Team B the other hammer in case ammo runs low or there's too many enemies) - when the Tempest has been hit and resumes flight, split back into two groups again - repeat - ????? - profit it's not 100% fool proof but it's how i got it done (with 4 humans) and it will be a bit easier if you make the teams up before you start playing Arcade helps a lot too since death doesn't start the battle from the last checkpoint. Big Stoz
I'm stuck on Act 2 Chapter 5 Hijack with 2 other friends so am absolutely dreading getting to the final fight....at our current rate it will probably be when they release the Gears Of War 20th anniversary box set! This works great for the first parts, no problem. But we tried that for the third and it's really hard for two guys to handle 10 to 15 guards on their own. Even trying to hit and run them was useless. We had a really bad checkpoint (right next to the elevator, in the middle of the add spawn area), maybe it might change for our next try. There are so many of them that they prevent you from getting ammo or new Hammer charges. :/ I'm stuck on Act 2 Chapter 5 Hijack with 2 other friends so am absolutely dreading getting to the final fight....at our current rate it will probably be when they release the Gears Of War 20th anniversary box set! Cheer up. We managed to get past it while I'm one of the worst players out there, you should be able to get over it too! TuM Predator
we got lucky with the Tempest, when the Checkpoint appears when Palace guards jump up.. It glitched and Everything just stood there and didn't move.. The tempest was jus sat on the ground and we used hammer over and over until she died.. i've been trying to figure out how i did this or if it was a 1 time thing.. but if i do it again ill be sure to post vid.. But easiest LEGIT way would be to do what Joker said.. thats the easiest way
Gwill
Can one of you guys tell me (I'm at work, right now, I can't test it myself) if the marble ledge around the elevator protects you from the Tempest blink or not? I was thinking about putting 2 guys around the elevator and two other around the ledge, so they are more or less safe from the Guards and can go to safety easier when the Tempest is in the air. scttsmall
I tried four like four hours with a group of four without success then I tried it by myself and I finished it in like 20 minutes. Has anybody done it with 4 without exploiting the glitch?

Iam918
Cousin and I tried w/ a group of 4 to beat her for few hours. Was crazy and we kept failing. So we both resorted to soloing her. IMO, soloing her was tons easier than in 4p co-op. We were never "blessed" with any glitches in 4p nor solo. Had to fight off guards and screechers while trying to kill her. The AI does a rather decent job of fighting off the palace guards but some still get through.
oldskoolforever
Has anybody done it with 4 without exploiting the glitch? Yes, with good teamwork. Very tough and I don't want to do again !
