I think he means they are giving away a real M5, not an in game one, but the competition is only open to those in Germany

Nevermind, hey? How many times have their been competitions only for US? Only for UK?

I'm sure eventually they will do things for other countries/regions.

Exactly. If it was a 'real' car, how many could afford the insurance? :P And I'm sure its written in the contract of you winning a car, you have to keep it a year before passing it on.

Yeah, they giving away a real M5 and since its for Germany only I didn't bother reading the Terms of the contest but if anyone want to read them http://www.bmw.de/de/de/cooperations/microsoft/xbox_forza4.html

But so you know its in German!

Here is the write up in the Forza Site (in English! LOL)

I couldn't afford to insure one, i know that, and they say insurance drops once you hit 25, im still waiting for that to happen lol.

Number f factors come in to lower insurance, not just age. I'm waiting on passing my test first! 23 and not had a lesson =/ Wouldn't say no to the car still.

Where's the competition btw, Germany? I didn't read it properly, did you say Germany only...

I saw this last night and was just as upset as most of you. Insurance wouldn't be that big of an issue since i have a 335i now :woop:. But i would surely sell that and drive the M5

I'm not upset lol, I just find it funny that someone has got in such a rage about a country specific competition outside the US/UK, they've made a pointless thread about it haha!

Move to German if it bothers you that much?

The amount of times I've seen a contest only in America I don't see why this is unfair. There's literally nothing splitting America and Canada whereas there's a whole ocean between Germany and America. BMW is German, the M5 is built there, this shouldn't be surprising.

Just having an M badge on it will guarantee much higher insurance, and being an M5 as opposed to an M3 shoots it even higher.

Don't forget that in the U.S. you have to pay taxes on prizes. So you win a car and wind up owing $15-20k in taxes.:( I would sell the car and keep the leftover $$$.
