so as I said, should I buy new cars or upgrade old cars that are a lower class? the only advantage could be you know the car but the upgrades will change the way it drives. I don't know too much about cars so I wouldn't know which upgrades will be most beneficial

It depends on the specific car and upgrades you choose. Upgrading cars into higher classes sometimes makes them terrible compared to stock cars in that class. Only way to know is to play with various tunes to see for yourself.

In Forza 4 it's always cheaper to upgrade, but as was said above you can upgrade badly. Most cars are good up to 2-3 levels above stock. Beyond that it is a crap shoot on improvements helping depending on the car, the track you are on, and your ability to drive.

From my experience, in game and real life, MR and AWD can handle massive upgrades with the least impact to driveability, FR loses driveability the fastest, and FF somewhere in the middle and with the most variance in how fast it degrades. YMMV

I just use the ones I have in my Garage. Only bought 2 cars the whole game and on my 5th season.

I always buy a new car just because with over 500 cars I want to experience as many as I can.

Bought all the ones I want, really. The ferrari I want, I'll get in time, when I can afford it. Otherwise I'll stick with FORD to get Affinity.

Wasn't telling you to buy any, hence the lack of a quote box.

This implies you assumed I was.

No, I used your post as a conversation starter. Not a reply to my previous post. Deary me.

I've been upgrading to the top of each car's respective class. Though, I think it would be funny to upgrade a Class-E Toyota to Class-A and race it against some nice Ferraris.
