Who else was hoping for...

When I watched the first scenes I thought it would be Vice city because of the beach and the people running but then it turned out to be Los Santos. V probably resembles Vinewood.

I hope that it's San Andreas with its amazing landscapes and we get to see the other cities in the next trailers and maybe with other characters as well... oh man Rockstar definitely has big stuff to show.

It would be cool to get another Vice City 2, don't get me wrong. But if there gonna make another Grand Theft Auto, I want it to be ALL new. Even though its set in the same area as San Andreas its nice to see the new game being called a number rather then it being GTA: Blah Blah.

I like that there following by the numbers now, it seems more official.

Personally i don't really mind if the game would be set in San Andreas or Vice City.

They both are my favorite's of the GTA series.

-Vice City just because of the way the game looked and the beauty of it, just think about the sun setting down over the water and the neon lights from the hotels and all coming on. He now days the graphics don't look as good as they did back then, but still find this to be the most beautiful part of the series.

-San Andreas, just thinking back about the stretched out landscape and the size of the map. But also the huge amount of options and things to do in the game still get me hooked on from time to time. And let's not forget the variation in the map, one minute your in the city, the next on a mountain top, then in the dessert ending up in casino....

And let's not forget the fact that back then Rockstar didn't took the game so seriously as they did with GTA IV, i mean the game was great but i always had (and still have) the feeling that there was something missing...

p.s. Anybody actually noticed that this game if released in 2012 as planned will be released 15 years after GTA 1?? Just looked it up it was released in October 1997.....

I'm glad it isn't Vice City, although VC is my favourite of all the GTA games, anything set outside the 80's would be generic/plain, modern day Miami, meh.

I'm hoping it will just be Los Santos and not San Andreas, for me too much of SA was deserted countryside, and judging by the amount of detail in each shot of the trailer, i have a gut feeling GTA5 will be focusing on one city.

I don't see why they would call it "Grand Theft Auto V", since nothing revolutionary is going on, perhaps now Rockstar Games will name their GTA games by numbers now! :D That would be so cool. Technically, this would be "Grand Theft Auto XI." Anyway, I thought it was gonna be in Vice City too! Alas, it was Los Santos! Ha, nice play there Rockstar Games. Turns out that leaked info from a Rockstar employee was true, and WILL be true.

If they go back to Vice City, I'll wait till they make a huge map that will allow me to go visit Disney World in Orlando. I much prefer the landscape they chose here with the current time period and current graphic engine, it looks really really well, I'm hoping for much improved driving in this one. And holy crap the amount of detail in this game, I don't think I'll be getting bored of this one for years.

Driving down the highway for 4-5 hours would be quite boring. lol

No no no, if it were going to be Vice City 2, then hell no I want it in the same time era. Definitely not in any other! And EXACTLY as someone said. Just the feel of it.

The neon lights on the stretch, the sunset over the water. THE MUSIC. Shit, even the color gradient of the weapon tiles! Everything about that game was perfect.

I say Vice City 2 over SA because, as shameful as it may seem, I just didn't like SA. I only played very few of it and got off. It was so urbanized for me with all its ghetto gangs and shit it was such a turn off from the higher classed gangs like the triads owning casinos, the mafia with the badass suits, it was too different from a GTA game from what I knew of them. I suppose I'll have to get over it though, since the trailer looked mother fucking AMAZING.

the V doesnt stand for VINEWOOD, if it only was vinewood they would put VINEWOOD on the car plates. but on all the cars it says San Andreas. and they wont leave out los santos. i know for sure

They have San Andreas on the plates because San Andreas is the state, in the same way that cars in LA have California on the plates

Vice City for me was close to perfection, it is in my top 5 games of all time, it doesn't need re-done. I also dont think they have made the right choice of location with this either as we will probably have seen it before. I SOOOOO hope I am wrong though. I would have preferred something completely out of the blue like it being set in 1970's Communist Moscow, Australia, India or something totally different, but then I guess it wouldn't really be GTA then
