I think I've found a bug concerning the penultimate challenge event at the East Coast series.

The target time is unobtainable. With a nearly perfect ride I've just reached the bronze medal and I'm 20 seconds away from gold.

Perhaps someone has already beaten the time and i'm just to slow:(

other opinions?

Wellcome to the club. I have the same problem: I drive almost perfectly and I am alsways 7 seconds behind the targeted gold time. Looks like a bug or you need a specific car for this race wich I still didn't unlock.

same here, been using the Nissan GTR SpecV - my best time is 2:22.09 and it was as perfect a run as was physically possible

just fed the EA cash-cow by spending 240msp on the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento because I'm not yet Level 30 so hopefully will be able to do it...

managed a 2:19.90 on third attempt, can probably go 3 or 4 seconds quicker if I had a few better corners and exits but I can confirm that the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento is the easiest way to beat this challenge. It's either 240msp on Xbox Live or it unlocks when you reach driver level 30;)

I got 2:25 on my first try with Porsche 918 RSR Sig Edition. I'm sure gold is obtainable with that car, and you can get the NFS Edition (same stats) pretty easily by doing 10 online supercar objectives.

Edit: Got it with the 918 RSR. Would've gotten platinum but I plowed into traffic in the final stretch.

Thought that this might be the key

I did a 2.20.57 but I can not remember the car. The website does not say what car you used so can't check until I get home.

One thing I will add with the GTRs is that you need to "manage" top gear. You can get an extra 20kph out of them regularly if you boost from 5th to 6th gear with a close to full boost tank. Its like the engine does not have enough grunt to get up to 6th gear or accelerate in 6th gear until you boost it into its power band and then its fine.

Hang on is this the challenge on the highway where you have to weave in and out of traffic? If so I did it in the GTR and the key was make use of all shortcuts including the one of the left that looks like its useless. The reason is the shortcuts give you more boost and allow you to stay at top speed easily.

Sorry if I have the wrong challenge. I need to leave work ASAP to get back to this game lol

Sorry wrong challenge mentioned above but in the one this thread is about I just did 2.17.9 in the Porsche 918 RSR.

At start wait about 3-4 seconds and then boost but stick to the right as there is usually a car in front.

Drift the first left hander. All I can say is trial and error and you will find the line. Try to keep it flat out to take the shortcut right. Wallride the hairpins or take them smooth. Not sure which is quickest. For the corners with no outside wall or rail coast the corners and gas it out late.

Coasting the corners works wonders in this car only.

2:25 with the Zonda so far. I didn't unlock 918 RSR or Sesto Elemento yet.

EDIT: 2:18 on my 3rd attempt with the 918 RSR.

Was 2 or 3 seconds behind gold time in my first try and in the 2nd try I finally got it (with a few restarts of course) with the 918 RSR.

Imho it very important that you don't need to reset after beating the 2nd oponent - you'll respawn into that long corner much slower than you would when driving normally (lost 2,5s only due to resetting, so don't!^^)

Now I finally finished all challenges... 39 platinum, 20 gold - it's definetly possible. Now Extreme Run ... :uzi:

The last race is extremely easy. I just can't get gold on the one before it.

I drove the standard Sesto Elemento last night and did not believe how fats you can get that thing around corners. If you get the level 30 version its stats are so much better again.

But as posted above the Porsche 918 RSR is more than enough for that second to last challenge.

I did the Live Free or Die Hard 2:19:87 with the McLaren F1. It's hard, but not impossible. Just trying, ant don1t hit the benches, or anything

Try the 918 RSR ;)
Guess everything else has been mentioned...

Don't you have a Recommendation with my time, to see where you should/could improve?

Still missing like 2 secs to Platinum though - only challenge I can't even imagine how to get Platinum :D

Just did it in the Zonda Cinque "Shadow". Referenced: Need for Speed : The Run - Live free or Drive hard Challenge 02:13.60 - YouTube

Boost the very first straight for a bit, learn to drift carefully around the tight bends (and even the not so tight bends), turn properly while braking hard into hairpins to keep the speed up, and avoid those damned benches and other rubbish on the side of the road... or paths. Managed 2:19.17

Also, don't be afraid to be very aggressive with the gear changes. I was mostly using 3rd and 4th for the tight bits. And, regarding the long easy bend after the park, drift slightly about 2/3 through it to avoid getting caught on the sides.

That video will only help people if they have that car or the sesto elemnento for level 30.

If you are using other cars you will need to use full boost more often than partial boost and probably wallride boost some of the hairpins.

Also I did not brake hard for anything. If I had to slow down for corners I coasted them. I may have tapped the ebrake but I coasted most corners I could not take flat out. This was in the Porsche 918 RSR.

Find it such a difficult challenge (mainly as traffic seems to be around on every single apex and I'm ending up going plowing into it), I'm just going go give up on it until i've reached lvl 30

Wait so is there a difference between the sesto elemento that you buy from XBL and the one when you reach Level 30??

And if so, what?

I think it has better stats as it is a NFS Edition.

Got 2:17 with the Zonda. For the first part with the tight turns I used the walls and traffic to slow down. I find that if you hit the walls and cars when you're trying to steer, you often get pointed in the direction you want to go so all you need to do is boost out of the turn.

I just passed live free or drive hard with the 918 RSR, with like 2:19.33 very tough but doable. In the beginning you must hit the apex of the first 4 turns it will allow you to carry great speed through those 4 turns. There is a very helpful youtube video as well that explains the course. If you search "live free or drive hard" it's 10:33 or something like that. The guy used the lvl 30 car but any car will work. It's helpful to hear him explain the course and use land marks and things to help.

Also if you're not chasing the 2nd car at the 1:00 -1:03 mark it will be VERY tough to finish with gold.

Hope this helps!

I have to say that I was damn frustrated immensely with that challenge, but ended up beating it with the GTR-Spec V after like the 40th try lol...

I just beat the second to last race today. I used every car I had unlocked, and then I decided to unlock the NFS Edition of the 918 RSR Porsche since I can use that car pretty good. Just beat 10 multiplayer objectives in the supercar playlist. And as long as you can e-brake without spinning out and storing your nitrous up at the end, you can get gold easily. Hope this helps.

Just got 2:19:77 with the Sesto Elemento that unlocks at Level 30. I tried the Porsche RSR first, but only got up to 2:22:07. Oh well, at least it's done. Now it's time to get MP and the Italian pack.

I beat the game on extreme first, then you will be awarded the Zonda Shadow, it will make this challenge quite easy
