Introduction:

Need for Speed: The Run, the next installment in the Need for Speed series. This game has its ups and downs but overall is a fairly enjoyable experience with the race from San Francisco to New York. It will take sometime but it is a rewarding completion. Now without further ado let’s get on with this roadmap.

Breakdown:

You will get a fair few of the achievements from completing the single player campaign on a easier difficulty. Your second playthrough of the campaign will be on extreme difficulty. There are some miscellaneous achievements for taking photos and reading news articles. Some of the achievements are for beating your friends times on a ‘stage’ of the run and for beating a recommendation on the speedwall. The online achievements are just for doing solo and group objectives as well as receiving the bonus wheel. You will have to complete the challenge series and get gold or better on each, there are 51 and some are fairly difficult. Finally there are achievements for ranking up and you will spend A LOT of time reaching rank 30 as this would probably be your last achievement, you will get experience from everything you play so by the time you get every other achievement you should be on your way to 30.

Single Player:

First thing you should do is play the single player campaign; you will get experience for completing races. The campaign is fairly short beyond the cut scenes and resets and should be about 2.30 hours of in game racing time. I recommend doing your first play through on easy as ‘Extreme’ difficulty does not unlock until you beat the game once. Just play through the campaign and you will unlock all story related achievements.

After completing your single player play through it is time for extreme difficulty, the only difference between Easy and Extreme is the amount of resets you get from 10 to only receving 1 per race. This can be challenging at some points but it’s not too bad just take your time and by being persistent you will eventually unlock it.

For those that don’t want to play the campaign again on Extreme, there is a way to glitch it by playing the last stage (10) on a easy difficulty then when you get to the final race go the start menu and change the difficulty to extreme and just win the race and “Win at Winning” will pop. Here (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=346327) is a thread on how to do it.

Online/Autolog:

There are 2 friend related achievements for the speedwall being

• King for a Day
• What else you got?

‘King for the Day’ is simply just post the fastest time on a stage of the run onto the speedwall. This would be easier the less friends you have that play the game and how good they are. It is possible to use a second profile to do this. The other is just beating a friends recommendation on the speedwall for a challenge.

The online achievements are fairly simple. Just play the online and complete solo objectives, they are pretty easy and will come through by just playing online. The other achievements will require you to make a ‘group’ in multiplayer, so invite your friends and complete these objectives. You only have to do 5 and you can invite just 1 friend or 3. The more friends the easier it will be but it is not essential. Finally the bonus wheel achievement, this is all about chance and winning the race. The wheel will spin and may land on the '75g achievement' for either coming first or possibly being in the top 3. If you aren’t the best racer then find some people in the Achievement Trading Thread Here (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=344274).

Miscellaneous Achievements:

These are really simple and require no effort:

• Show off (Requires Online Pass)
• Current Events

Just take a photo of a car and go to the autolog menu by pressing http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/misc/back.png and scroll right 4 times done.

Challenge Series:

Oh boy, this will test your skill and patience. There are 51 events and you must hit gold on each. Some are fairly simple and some will drive you mad but the beauty of this is, if you keep trying you will eventually get it. Just pick the best car, fastest speed with the better handling. If you are not sure which car to pick check out the Achievement Guide Here (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=345741). Resets are your friend here, use them wisely and it helps to have friend that have completed these as there is a little feature that compares you on the track to one of your friends on the speed wall and you can see if you are doing well or not at all.

Ranking Up:

After you finish every other achievement you will, mostly just have ranking up left to do in this game. You rank up in intervals of 5 from 1-30. You will probably have to grind a few races with big payouts. By the time you have every other achievement you should be around level 20 give or take a few levels. Getting to 30 is a pretty massive grind, it takes a lot of time. It will probably drive you bored senseless so be prepared for a boring race to the top. You can either play multiplayer which will make it more fun but you won't receive as much exp or you repeat Race 1 of Stage 8 in the run or by completing challenge 3 in the East Coast challenges "Drive Hard".

Conclusion:

The Run is a fun game there are ways that it can be improved but it is still enjoyable. The achievements are fairly straight forward and do require some skill to complete. Use your resets wisely and take it easy with extreme difficulty. Getting to level 30 takes a lot of time so be ready to race consistently. Challenges depend on your skill level. I managed Live free and Die hard after about 5 or 6 tries

I feel difficulty of 7/10 is more then enough.

7 out of 10 hits it perfectly in my opinion :)

I agree, 7 outta 10 is way to high, not much skill involved here. id give it max 5 of 10. extreme you can get in one race... the only thing that takes time is getting level 30 and anyone can do it, it just takes time. also their IS cheats...

Oh sorry I did not understand that there was cheats that helped you unlock the achievements, how foolish of me. I understand your concern of the difficulty it might not have been a 7 for you but some people find it fairly difficult and I guess it's an extreme case thing for those that aren't the best at the game. I consider myself a fairly good racer and found it difficult. Also people would find getting the bonus wheel fairly difficult without help.

there was me thinking 7/10 was not high enough till i noticed this comment. the game is practically impossible on normal difficulty,i would not even attempt on extreme difficulty.i often see reviews on games where people complain its too easy and not worth it then most people are saying its challenging.some people clearly just fluke their way through.but in reality its all a matter of opinion and its like a football player rating how good a basketball player is or vice versa.nearly every game someone will find easy and other people will never finish it because its too hard for them.either way it doesnt matter aslong as everyone enjoys it
