For the official achievement guide and roadmap by Tyger7, go here. (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=361705)

If your planning on getting 1000G in the game, here is my flow chart to make it as easy as possible in the least amount of time. Please note this is not my attempt to make an achievement guide. Im just putting the info out there. There might be better methods and glitches in the future but as of right now this is the best one. If youd rather another option, you can also use this one (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=361705)
(I obviously have been playing on another gamertag which has most of the achievements. Im using this gt for capturing video and my second gt to run through the game multiple times and figure everything out so I can confirm and complete side quests first time correctly for capture on this gamertag)

NOTE ON SIDE QUESTS: You DO NOT need "Digging up the Past" side quest in order to unlock Silent Hill Tour Guide achievement. There has been some confusion on this, seeing as the complete all side quest achievement popped for me my second play through, while others got it on there first. I went back and can confirm now you dont need "Digging up the Past", so technically you can get Silent Hill Tour Guide on your first play through . But regardless, if your going for 1000G, doing it the way its listed below is the least stressful by far

First play through:
On your first playthrough you should

Start out on hard/hard difficulty
Dont kill any monsters
DO NOT do any side quests or collectables (will go MUCH faster if done on easy/easy playthrough)

Pick all good choices in the game
At the end, spare boss. Reload then kill boss for both ending variations of good playthrough

This will net you:

Capital Punishment [100 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png] Completed the game on the hard game difficulty setting, any ending

Good Behavior [50 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png] Completed the game on any difficulty without killing any monsters

Fight or Flight [20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png] Escaped from 20 monsters

Stay of Execution [ 25 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png] Incapacitated 20 monsters without killing them

Hypochondriac [ 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png] Used 20 First Aid Kits

Puzzle Master [100 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png] Completed the game on the hard puzzle difficulty setting, any ending

Ending A [ 50 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png] Achieved "Forgiveness" ending

Ending C [ 50 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png] Achieved "Full Circle" ending

Plus the six secret achievements that are all story related for [60 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png]

( If you want, you can go for the "Stay of Execution" achievement on your second or third play through to make the "Good Behavior" achievement a little less stressful. Dont worry if you dont get it on your first play through)

This will give you a total of [465http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png]

Second play through:

On your second play through you should:

Play on easy difficulty
Get monster kills
Get gun kills
Do all side quests including "Digging up the Past"
Get all collectables (includes 3 poem fragments)
Defeat the Bogeyman

Doesnt matter what choices you make
Get the secret ending "Surprise!" (by completing the "Digging up the Past" side quest and finishing the game)

This will net you:

All 14 side quest achievements, for [70http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png]

Silent Hill Tour Guide [100http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png] Completed all side quests

Silent Hill Historic Society [50 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png] Completed Murphy's Journal with all Mysteries

Gun Control [25 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png] Killed 25 monsters with the Pistol or Shotgun

Ashes, Ashes [ 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png] Collected 3 pages of the rhyme book

Broken Cycle [10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png] Defeated The Bogeyman

Ending E [70 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png] Achieved "Surprise!" ending

All monster killing achievements, for [100http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png]

This will bring your total to [900http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png]

Third play through:

On your third play through, you should:

Run through on easy
Make all bad choices
If you didnt get gun kills on your second play through, focus on getting as many gun kills as possible
At the end, spare boss. Reload then kill boss for both ending variations of bad playthrough

This will net you:

Ending B [50 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png] Achieved "Truth & Justice" ending

Ending D [50 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png] Achieved "Execution" ending

I don't know if this was sorted out but is it possible to play on easy first and do all the side quests minus 1 then go back and pick up the last side quest in a second easy playthrough?

So basically for me the playthrough would be: second, third, first.

Its better to do all the side quests in one go. If you do all the side quests minus digging up the truth quest in the first play through, youll still get the "complete all side quests" achievement, but you wont get the "beat the game without killing any monsters" cheevo, because one of the side quests requires you to kill waves of monsters.

As for the difficulty, you can do whatever difficulty you want. Its just easier to do your first play through on hard hard since youll be running from most enemies and strictly doing main mission. Its take me about 2-3 hrs to complete the game on a speed run

Very nice work! I'm starting this game tonight so I will follow this guide and let you know how it works.

Keep up the good work ;)

Also: If I'm starting on hard and avoiding all enemies should I just run when I can and if I have to fight just knock them out?

Do the side quests start by just getting close to a person or do you have to press a button to interact with them?

I would avoid as many enemies as I can. Unfortunately, the game makes you fight some, and sometimes its just better to fight them and incapacitate them so you dont get overwhelmed. Just make sure you dont kill them (youll know there dead if there body disappears from the ground) You really shouldnt have a problem getting the Incapacitate 20 enemies at all, especially since they always respawn in Hillside, Pearl Creek; those surrounding areas. If you want to make it easier on yourself, you could always go for that cheevo on your second play through since you can kill people.

Just keep in mind, the only point-of-no-return in the game is after you get on the boat in the Port. Youll still encounter plenty of enemies, but its still something worth noting

99% of the time, side quests only activate if you pick sometime up or interact with something. But dont worry about if one activates. It doesnt affect you at all.

lol well thats the only way you kill enemies plain and simple. Give your stats a minute to refresh. If an enemy is on the ground and he disappears and your stats still say 0 kills, you either got lucky or the game just took a caca on you. Ill test it out right now

EDIT: Well was he moving on the ground at all? If hes moving then disappears its fine, but that usually takes a while to happen. If hes on the ground and isnt moving and disappears right away, hes dead. You should easily be able to tell if you killed them or not

Little tip for the gun kills since theres not a whole lot of ammo around. You can knock an enemy down then finish them off with the pistol and it will count towards "Gun Control".

Thanks for the guide FLIPADELPHIIA. Just beat the clock tower on my hard/hard playthrough and thought I killed several enemies but my stats still say 0 killed so I'm happy.

Not sure if it's worth mentioning, but is it confirmed we need the Digging Up The Past side-quest for the Silent Hill Tour Guide achievement?

If not, mine just glitched - just got SHTG after finishing Shadow Play, my last side-quest besides Digging Up The Past (which I understand can only be done after your first playthrough).

Yea I explained it at the top. You dont need Digging Up the Past for the Tour Guide achievement. But you do need it for the secret ending

did you do it on hard? ive tried to do it on hard multiple times, and it just too much. Even if it is possible, i would still suggest doing all side quests on easy while your able to kill baddie because it will make it go SO much faster. Doing all the side quests on hard while not killing anyone is just a waste of time and a huge frustration. The time itll take you to do that, you could have the game 1000G doing it the other way. But thanks for the info

if you choose all good choices and you kill monsters, youll still get the good ending. You must have made one good choice and one bad choice.

Think of it this way. Your score is 0. As you play, each time you leave a monster alone after incapacitate, it counts +1. If you kill them, it's -1. When you make one of those big morality decisions, it's like + or -20 (or something to that degree).

Yea thats the way Ive been explaining it to. I just didnt know how many monsters you had to kill for it to actually affect you negatively. But now that you put it that way, killing 60 monsters would definitely affect your good score. Thanks for the insight :)

Okay I have to know because I am extremely annoyed with this game right now.

Do collectibles stack through playthroughs for achievement?

If I collect every collectible but missed 1 in St Maria's for example...and in next playthrough it is collected, will the achievement unlock or would I literally have to go through and collect every single one again?

My actual situation was that I missed 2 in Centennial Building and realized it before I got on the boat. I missed them because I was writing a collectible guide and I was having to stop at the collectible and take screen snapshots basically and edit them...so I made the mistake of not actually collecting it myself, but writing it into the guide. My guide has all, just not me personally. I cannot get back into the Centennial Building. I am really hoping that I do not have to get them all over again because then I have to complete side quests I've done already. I hate collectibles and I hate when games think it's a good laugh to make you collect them ALL OVER again. I love being punished for playing a game. Do they really not realize how inconvenient this is? I'm personally going to be contacting them if I have to get them all over again.

Everything needs to be done in one go unfortunately.

I believe you only have to do 1 or 2 side quests over. Mirror mirror and Ribbons are the only ones you need to complete. Regardless though, most of them are out of the way if your just trying to book it through the story

About the "Don't kill any monsters" thing. Is this thing actually possible on hard? Can you really outrun them? In small rooms and stuff like that i have to incapacitate them? I've noticed that they get up if you hang around them for a while. Shall i enter/exit rooms or something or just run like hell? Is there any part during the hard difficulty that this gets frustrating/impossible?

I didn't kill any monsters on my easy and hard playthrough. You can knock them down (even if that kills them!) as long as you don't execute them. I would wait until your second playthrough to get this achievement, so you know where the items are.

Sounds like good info, I'm most likely gonna have to do 4 playthrough in all, since I didn't want any spoilers for the game at all, so I didn't look ay any achievement guides.

Well, plus my Homeless sidequest glitched out.

Thanks for posting the road map. I'm going to start this game tonight and it's nice to know what I'm getting myself into. I remember the last one was frustrating at the end. This one sounds even more so, with more things to worry about doing specifically right, but I'm looking forward to it.

Can anyone tell me if now that I have all the artifacts from the usless trinkets side quest digging up the past achievement, which allows the ending E. Will I on a seperate playthrough be able to get endings B and D? I haven't gotten these ending yet? Or will it always end with ending E, because you only pick up those artifacts once, they won't able to picked up again on a different playthrough? These artifacts are located under extra's in the start menu and once all 10 are collected these artifacts are always there?

This roadmap is wrong if the game works this way?
