Introduction:
Jane’s Advanced Strike Fighters has some quite simple achievements and the game should not be too difficult for the average gamer. If you can get a partner for this game, you will surely save a lot of time and frustration at some tricky spots on your Hard playthrough. Finding a random Co-op partner is quite difficult as almost nobody is playing the game online.

To start off, I recommend one of below approaches.

1A Story (Normal difficulty):
In you do not have a partner, start on Normal and get familiar with the game. You will unlock better planes as you process and this will be essential to your Hard difficulty playthrough. The campaign is quite short and once you complete a mission, you can always jump back to it and select a different difficulty. Once you get the PAK-FA (Last plane you’ll unlock), start your Hard playthrough.

1B Story (Hard difficulty):
If you have a partner, you might as well jump right into it and start with the Hard difficulty. The great thing about this is that if one of you die, you will respawn after 30 seconds and you will be able to change plane before getting back to the fight. If you both die, then you will need to restart the checkpoint. In general, the game is pretty generous with the checkpoints.

2. Multiplayer:
The most difficult thing will be to find MP matches. If you are not willing to boost the MP achievements, you will most likely give up as MP is very deserted. You should start of by finding a buddy so that you can help each other. Not that I encourage boosting, but almost nobody is playing MP. You will also experience some glitches and a lot of lag making the experience a bit irritating.

3. Mock-up:
You can always select a specific mission and replay it on any difficulty you wish. After completing the game on Hard and getting all the Multiplayer achievements, you should only have a few missing. (If any)

Story-Related:
You will get these achievements naturally by playing through the campaign.

Man on a Mission – 15
Complete a Mission in Campaign mode (Single-player or Co-Op).

Story-related. The achievement will unlock automatically.

I Am Dangerous - 15

Not directly “Story-related”, but it cannot be missed.

Missile Jockey – 15
Destroy 250 enemies in Campaign mode (Single-player or Co-Op).

Not directly “Story-related”, but it cannot be missed.

Master of Evasion – 15
Evade 10 missiles with countermeasures in Campaign mode (Single-player or Co-Op).

Not directly “Story-related”, but it cannot be missed.
Use :xbut: to evade missiles with countermeasures

5th Generation - 15
Unlock the F-22 Raptor in Campaign mode (Single-player or Co-Op).

Story-related. The achievement will unlock automatically.

Easy Rider - 15
Complete Campaign mode on Easy Difficulty or higher (Single-player or Co-Op).

See Hardcore.

Normality – 30
Complete Campaign mode on Normal Difficulty or higher (Single-player or Co-Op).

See Hardcore.

Hardcore – 80
Complete Campaign mode on Hard Difficulty (Single-player or Co-Op).

As mention before, the game is harder if you are attempting to do this alone. Some missions are very easy but others have some tricky spots that can be very frustrating if you are going solo.

Here are some useful tips (Solo or Co-op):

The PAK-FA and F22 are probably the most effective planes in the game. I personally used the PAK-FA for my entire Hard playthrough. (It unlocks once you complete the game). PAK-FA has one loadout can be used for air and ground missions. I used this loadout for the entire playthrough.
Use Wyrm missiles for ground targets. These can be launched from a distance of 20 km. This means that nothing (on the ground) can touch you before you fire.
Wyrm missile, fire and retreat. Instead of flying directly into a shitload of SAM-sites, simply fire your Wyrm missiles, turn back and wait for them to reload and go ahead and fire again. The SAMs can’t reach you if you are more than 8-10 km away from them.
Eagle missile, fire and retreat. Same tactic can be used with the Eagle missile, as it’s the Air/air missile with the longest fire distance. Normally it will lock on a target that is closer than 19 km. If you find yourself in a tough dogfight, bail out and try hitting them from distance.
Kiting planes. With Eagle missiles, you can easily “kite” planes. Fire off your Eagle loadout, turn 180 degrees and increase the distance. The distance between you and the enemy should be about 12-19 km, then you’re fine. When the missiles are ready, fire and turn back again (Use boost to get away quickly).

Aerial Photographer - 80

Locate Jedhi Borzai (Single-player or Co-Op).

Story-related. The achievement will unlock automatically.

Stain Removal – 80
Kill General Demichvia (Single-player or Co-Op).

Story-related. The achievement will unlock automatically.

Transmission Ends – 30
Kill Chairman Borzai (Single-player or Co-Op).

Story-related. The achievement will unlock automatically.

Miscellaneous Achievements

Vectored Thrust - 15
Perform a thrust vector maneuver in Campaign mode (Single-player or Co-Op).

You cannot do this with every plane. By pressing :ltbut:and :rtbut: you will perform a thrust vector maneuver, making the plane turn very fast. If you do not get this achievement before unlocking F22, then do it as soon as you get the plane, as it’s one of the best in the game for such maneuvers.

Bombs Away - 15
Successfully bomb a target in Campaign mode (Single-player or Co-Op).

See Bombardier

Bombardier - 15
Destroy a target with a bomb dropped from higher than 1000m (Single-player or Co-Op).

You can get this achievement very early in the game. Increase your altitude to above 1000m (Right side of the screen) and fly toward a SAM-site (1-hit kill) and spam all your bombs once the black transparent target indicator on the ground is on the spot.

Weapons Hot – 15
Destroy an enemy aircraft with your cannons in Campaign mode (Single-player or Co-Op).

See Throwback.

Throwback - 15
Complete a mission using only cannons in Campaign mode (Single-player or Co-Op).

Re-play the first mission and only use your cannons :abut:.

In co-op, only the host will get the achievement.

Sharpshooter – 30
Destroy 50 enemy planes with cannons in Campaign mode (Single-player or Co-Op).

As you play through the game, try to take all the easy targets like bombers with cannons. Most likely, you will not have this achievement after completing the game.

Replaying below 2 missions are good for this achievement.

- Home Defense. There are a lot of bombers (easy targets)
- The Reckoning. 2 planes will keep respawning on the runway of the airbase (After your 3rd objective). These are very easy targets as they move very slowly and you will be able to get about 6-8 kills per level replay.

Underneath the Radar – 15
Destroy a Radar Station without being detected (Single-player or Co-Op).

You will have the several opportunities to do this achievement while playing through the game. You need to fly very low so that the detection indicator is green all the time. If it turns red you will fail your mission, but for this achievement it needs to remain completely green until you destroy the radar station. If it changes color slightly, you will need to retry. Use Wyrm missiles to destroy the radar station from distance and if necessary, take alternate routes to your target to stay as low as possible.

Best missions for this achievement:
Territory Capture
Chemical Hit

Master of Arms – 30
Destroy 3 enemy planes within 10 seconds in Campaign mode (Single-player or Co-Op).

You will most likely get this achievement while playing through the campaign. But once you get a loadout that has multi-target missiles, this will be piece of cake. Fire the missiles at 2 planes and switch to some of the single-target missiles and fire at a 3rd plane quickly.

Straight Shooter – 30
Destroy an enemy plane with rockets (Single-player or Co-Op).

For this achievement, you need to use the Manticore missiles. They do not lock and are completely unguided. This can easily be done while flying slowly behind a bomber. It can be difficult to hit a fighter, but spamming all your rockets in its flying path while flying very close, is the way to go.

OR, you could just take the easiest approach by using the same tactic as mentioned above the cannon kills:
The Reckoning, mission. 2 planes will keep respawning on the runway of the airbase (After your 3rd objective). These are very easy targets as they move very slowly

Without a Scratch – 30
Complete a Campaign mission without taking any damage (Single-player or Co-Op).

Best done solo, as both of you will need to take no damage, if playing Co-op. You will most likely get this on the first mission. If not, play it on easy with a stealthy plane and be sure to dodge/evade missiles using :xbut:.

Who Needs Brakes? – 30
Complete a Campaign mission while full speed for 90% of the mission (Single-player or Co-Op).

Also easily done in the first mission. Just play the complete mission while holding :ltbut: down. It might be a good idea to choose a slow plane.

Co-op / Online Achievements

Bite Marks - 15
Destroy an enemy in any match in Multiplayer mode.

See any of the following achievements.

Air Superiority – 30
Destroy 5 enemies without dying in a single match in Multiplayer mode.

See Oscar Mike Golf.

Oscar Mike Golf – 80
Destroy 10 enemies without dying in a single match in Multiplayer mode.

Best done with a boosting partner as MP is quite deserted.
If you are going for this achievement, it’s a good idea for you to host the game as you get to decide the rules of the match. Start a game and set the score limit to 50. Without a partner, this can be a quite challenging achievement. But you should have at least 2 Eagle missiles in your loadout so that you can take your opponents out from distance.

I highly recommend doing this with a friend.

Flying Solo - 15
Win a Dogfight match in Multiplayer mode.

See Grim Reaper.

Grim Reaper – 30
Win 5 Dogfight matches in Multiplayer mode.

The best setting for this achievement:
Score limit: 5 points (equals 1 kill) – first kill wins the match

Survivor - 15
Win a Base Assault match in Multiplayer mode.

See Eliminator.

Eliminator – 30
Win 5 Base Assault matches in Multiplayer mode.

The best setting for this achievement:
Time limit: 5 minutes. Fly as high as possible with a fast plane loaded with Wyrm missiles. Go after the enemy base and shoot down remaining enemies afterwards to win the match. This can be a frustrating if you are not boosting with a friend.

Comrades in Arms - 15
Win a Team Dogfight match in Multiplayer mode.

See Team Guy.

Team Guy – 30
Win 5 Team Dogfight matches in Multiplayer mode.

The best setting for this achievement:
Score limit: 5 points (equals 1 kill) – first kill wins the match

Down the Rabbit Hole - 15
Win a Rabbit match in Multiplayer mode.

See White Rabbit.

White Rabbit – 30
Win 5 Rabbit matches in Multiplayer mode.

The best setting for this achievement:
Score limit: 20 points. You will get points over time for being the rabbit and additional 4 points for shooting down an enemy plane. First to 20 wins the match.
Time limit: 2 minutes

Teamblitz – 25
Complete a Co-Op Campaign mission as a client.

Finish a mission with someone else being the host. The first mission on Easy is the fastest one.

Blitzkrieg – 25
Complete a Co-Op Campaign mission as a host with one or more team mates.

Finish a mission as a host. The first mission on Easy is the fastest one.

Be My Wingman - 15
Destroy an enemy aircraft that has a lock on a team mate in Co-Op Campaign mode

Note that this achievement is glitched. After trying to do this several times, both as host and client, with different missiles and planes, a friend of mine told me that this has to be done with the MG/cannon. This makes the achievement a bit more challenging.

The best spot for this achievement is in the last mission, The Reckoning. After 3rd objective, 2 planes will keep respawning on the runway of the airbase. Both you and your buddy need to fly around them when they spawn. They will lock on you both, but they will not fire since they are on the ground. Once your buddy tells you that he has a lock, go for the kill with the MG only. If you don’t get it, there is a chance that they have locked on you and not your buddy.

For the "Who Needs Brakes?" Achievement:

So, this achievement seems to be really glitchy. Best advice I can give is use a slow plane (the F-35C and A-10C Thunderbolt 2 have been tested). However holding down RT isn't exactly the only thing you need to do. I double tapped RT to go full speed, this can be seen on the left side of the screen. The bar is broken into thirds. If you hold RT the whole time the fastest you go is 66% speed, but if you double tap RT you go 100%. After a little bit, your engines need to cool down, but once they reach 33% you can double tap RT again to go back up to 100%.

Again, first mission is the best place to accomplish this and it takes about 8 mins to do this. Best of luck.
