View Full Version : The Clock Room

Haven't solved this one out yet. However, a wall in the Clock Room has 6 columns of text. Deciphering the symbols, the columns read:

1: EVER END
2: SPACE DOES IT
3: OUTSIDE OF
4: THE SPACE
5: AND SPACE AND
6: ALL OF TIME

Perhaps it could be useful!?

Tell me your secrets, you damn clock!
I'm missing 2 anti cubes. Think both belong to the clock, since the black obelisk and the name-puzzle give bonus-cubes like the red one with the missing piece.

I think the clock spits out 3 anti-cubes total. I have all the cubes, but the grey hand is still going in my game. I've literally sat at that place for a few hours. That thing barely moves.

I'm missing the gray and blue one. I'm currently trying to change the time of my xbox. It may works. But i'm still figuring out the right times.

...or i'm completely wrong...

EDIT! THIS IS IT!

One cube is 6am

Edit#2 was my last one there, so i cant help with the others...

Aw it only has 3? I'm missing two anti-cubes and I'm just waiting for the green hand to move around, it's currently at the 11 position.

So what other anti-cube am I missing? The only rooms I haven't got gold on are: Security Question room, weird black monolith room and the owl statue in the graveyard area. The one where all the owls flock to at night.

I can't even remember at this point. The game has melted my brains. I have the green, red, and blue hands done from the clock. I'm fairly sure the green one is a cube, either that, or it's the owl. I'm not sure what the owl had. I sort of zipped in and autolooted the place.

security question and black obilisk = bonus cubes
owl-area = no cube

i'm stuck at 31/32 anticubes aswell... plus i'm missing that classroom (town where it rains)

I think it was the gray one. I've started at noon and then increased the time, while the grey slightly moved

So if the only rooms that aren't gold for me contain bonus cubes, where the hell is my missing anti-cube? :(

I noticed a lot of people were wondering about the monocle/boiler room from the first area, but when I checked, my monocle room has always been gold...
Has my game glitched it or is there something apart from a chest in that room?

I recall doing a rotation puzzle in there based off of the direction of the fezes in the painting on the wall. I got a cube from it.

It took me a few tries. I was too used to doing the ones that are written on their sides, so I ended up using the ones that are vertical on the board. I'd tell you my notes, but there's pages and pages of LB R RB L D U J LB RB. :X

EDIT: I've read that there's 33 anti-cubes for some reason.

does anyone know a time for the grey hand? it hasn't seemed to move in over 2 hours.
also, if you're missing cubes, they're not in the monolith or naming rooms. i'm not sure what gets unlocked there (though i can make a good guesstimate,) but i already have 64 cubes, and i'm still missing the grey hand one. if you're having trouble with the monocle room fez piece, after much frustration i discovered it's the position of the fezes on the heads, not the direction they're facing.

Just done all 4, for me they were:

Red = Once every minute
Blue = Once every hour
Green = 5pm
Grey = 2am

Hope this helps someone

Also, I just disconnected from live and changed the clock times.

Just done all 4, for me they were:
Grey = 2am

Well that didn't work for me for some reason. I also disconnected then switched the system clock to 1:55, launched the game and waited for about ten minutes under the giant clock but the cube never appeared.

No cubes appeared at 5pm for me.

I don't know when I got the red one, but I just got blue (5:13pm EST), but I doubt that's an important time. Got the green cube at 5:30pm (EST).

White's on its way, at like the 11 o' clock position (or around there).

Having said that, I reverse the messages from the first post and came up with this:

6: ALL OF TIME
5: AND SPACE AND
4: THE SPACE
3: OUTSIDE OF
2: SPACE DOES IT
1: EVER END

All of time and space, and the space outside of space; Does it ever end?

Not sure what it would mean though.

Just got the gray clock cube, i think its on a 24 hour per tick prossess i just changed the date to one day ahead and got it i guess it could also be based off when you started the game since my green cube was 7pm

in the end your ultimate goal is to get the hand pointing at 12 o'clock

It seems the times are different for everyone, which kind of sucks.

Also the text is just philosophical talk that I suppose is just about the video at the end of the game, I won't spoil it as it seems some people still haven't done it.

I think the time is simply relative to your own game, a cube appears every time a hand hits the 12 o'clock position, your not done till all the hands dissapear

So I either have to stay up till somewhere between 3am - 5am (I'm guessing) to get the grey hand cube...or I go offline and turn my clock ahead. STUPID CUBE!

I guess it isn't a big deal turning my clock ahead, I've just never done it before...

My Clock's gray hand is at 1:00. Since it seems that the gray hand runs on a 24-hour tick system, I would have to wait a very long time to get this last cube. How exactly do I go about setting the system time (backwards one day) to get the last cube to appear? I have read that acquiring a cube while not connected to XboxLIVE will keep the cube from registering on the leaderboards. Is there a way to set the time, get the cube, and maintain an accurate cube count on the leaderboards?

If you are using a wired connection, unplug your wire.
If you're using a wifi hotspot, go to System Settings, Network Setting, scroll to your hotspot and disconnect.

Go back to System Settings, choose Clock, set it to the time you need.

Make sure you're signed in (don't try to connect to Live; when you sign in you'll get an error and be in offline mode)

Start Fez, get cube.

Save, exit. Plug wire back in/reconnect to network.

Right. I understand all of that. The question remains, however; will the cube I acquire while offline be counted on the leaderboard, or no? I have read elsewhere that it will not count.

EDIT: I am in a pickle, now. My save is in the cloud and not on my hard drive. Can I copy it from the cloud to the HDD?

ReEDIT: Yes, I can. And I did. Good to know.

I read that the grey hand hits 12 every 48 hours. I like 48 much better than one week. Source: http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/62477/how-to-solve-the-clock-room

Basically, the time for people on Fez completely depend on the exact time they first started the game. For example, if I loaded up Fez for the first time 6 p.m., then the grey clock switch, every 48 hours, with arrive at 12 a.m. in-game time at 6 p.m. real time. Same goes with the green, only every 24 hours.

On a separate note, if I only have one hand on the clock from all perspectives, does that mean that I have all anticubes in this area? After collecting the green one, I saw the long hand dissapear.

MoldyClay87

I don't think it's based on when you started at all. Or at the very least, 48 hours is totally wrong and so is a week.

I started the game at 12pm on Friday the 13th when it came out (11am if it counted when I played the beginning of the demo before quitting and buying). Almost on the nose (I know because I took pictures and sent them to my girlfriend and they're timestamped on my phone).

When I last posted in this topic, it was 5:30pm on the 14th and the clock was at the 11 o'clock position or so. I don't know when I actually missed it, but say it was 48 hours after I started the game, and every 48 hours after that. That'd mean it'd be 12pm (or 11am) for me every 2 days right?

So today, Thursday the 19th should have been another chance to get it (because my chances would've been Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday with the 48-hour theory), but the clock was at the 7:30 position from 3-5pm.

I messed with the clock to see when it'd change to 12, and it doesn't until 4am between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

So if it IS from the time you started, it's definitely not groups of 48 hours. It has to be AT LEAST 2 and a half days (or 60 hours) or something close for my time to make any sense.

Unless I am missing something and can't count.

EDIT: It can't be every 60 hours either. The time between 7:30 on the in-game clock and 12 was at least 60 hours for me. Using logic, that'd mean another 60 backwards would be around 2:30 in-game, which makes it at least between 5-6 days or something.

I don't think it has anything to do with when you started the game. I think people were just lucky when they got it over the weekend it came out.

But this has really put me at a loss to what the actual interval was, because I feel like a week is too long.

I guess we'd have to figure out when people got the game and when they got the cube or when it was close to 12 and if they missed it and stuff.

So my understanding is that the blue one strikes 12 once every hour and the grey one once a week? They are my last cubes :).

Snake Pliskinn
04-21-2012, 05:33 PM
This is what I believe the pattern to be:

Red = 60 seconds (1 min)
Blue = 60 minutes (1 hr)
Green = 24 hrs (1 day)
Grey = 168 hrs (1 Week)

I got the first two anticubes without really knowing why. (I was obviously, by chance, in the room at the right time). The green and grey anti-cubes were my last two cubes to get, so I spent a long time in the clock room watching for changes. Looking back at my notes, I can say, with certainty, that it took the grey hand at least three days to move half of the clock face - hence I'm pretty sure its a week. These time increments are logical when you think about it.

sanctusmortis
04-27-2012, 05:49 PM
I'd read elsewhere on a guide it's once a minute, once an hour, once a day, and once every 2 days. I've got 2 (minute, day) but my daily seems to be at 1:30 and I sure as heck wasn't staying up for it (hard to get to network cable).

DFILL450

I'm still waiting to get the anti cube for the grey hand. It's the last one I need. I'm pretty sure it takes a week because in the last 2 days it's barely moved.

You apparently didn't solve the rosetta stone puzzle yourself... or you would realize that in Fez, all texts are read from top RIGHT to bottom LEFT. The text therefore is:

"All of time and space and the space outside of space - does it ever end?!"

...needless to say, it's not useful for the puzzle at all.

Just want to reconfirm that the grey one is definitely not every 2 days. My grey hand was a in between the "6" and "9" hour mark and I had to move my xbox's clock aproximately 2 days and 12 hrs later for it to reach "12".

So yeah, its not a universal time, looks like its starts running whenever you started your game. You just have to get it to 12.

JCA1567

One hand is every minute
The next is every hour
The third is every 24 hours
The fourth is every 48 hours

The times are from when you begin the game

I hope someone can help me as I am finding it pretty annoying! The last Anti-Cube I need is from the grey hand in this damn clock tower area. I'm pretty impatient and planned to set my clock forward offline in order to get this quicker.

When I do this and load up Fez, it will not let me continue my saved game and also asks me to unlock the game, but I need to be on Xbox Live. Everything works fine when I am connected to Live, but once I go offline to speed up the time, I can't do anything.

Hopefully someone can help!

**EDIT** I just had to go into my XBox Account settings and transfer the license agreement to my new console. Achievement got!
