Introduction:

This is the first installment of DLC for NFS: The Run. It is all inclusive to Italian sports cars like Lamborghini's, Alfa Romeo's, Lancia's, Maserati's and Pagani's. There are 6 new achievements worth a total of 200http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/g-icon.gif. Let's race!

Step 1: Challenges

(Obviously you can do either offline or online first, up to you.) Tackle the new Italian challenges, there are 2 playlists with 5 races each. They are all pretty challenging for us non-elite drivers. I will post up my times and make suggestions on what cars to use. Obviously use a car that you are comfortable with. There are no new maps, so if you've played a majority of the challenges from the main game, you should be familiar with these.

Step 2: Online

There is a separate playlist for playing the Italian cars. There are 20 new solo objectives to complete, and most require you to either come in 1st place with a specific car, or 1st place in a session, hence the high difficulty rating. The only problem is that not all cars are available immediately. What I mean is, if you play a Tier 4 race, you won't get all the cars you need to beat the solo objectives. But generally Tiers 4 through 6 is what you want. Also, there are only 3 solo challenges unlocked at any given time, so you must complete those to unlock the others 1 at a time. You will also unlock more Italian cars as you complete every 5th objective.

5 completed objectives reward: Lancia Delta NFS Edition HF Integrale
10 completed objectives reward: Alfa Romeo NFS Edition 8C
15 completed objectives reward: Lamborghini Diablo Signature Edition "SUNSPOT"
20 completed objectives reward: Alfa Romeo 8C "SERPENT"

Other cars descriptions:
"CRIMINAL" is the all black Lamborghini Superleggera (Tier 5)
"MUD" is the white Lancia (Tier 5)
"SUNSPOT" is the yellow Lamborghini Diablo (Tier 5)
'Any NFS car' is blue with Italian flag colors down the center of the car.

Conclusion:

All in all, this is a challenging, yet doable set of achievements. It is possible to boost the online achievements with a playgroup and an empty room. If you got the skills most of these should not pose you any problems. To the achievements!

Earn a gold medal or better for each event in the “Italian Challenges” Challenge Series

There are 5 challenges in this playlist. All times listed below are for Gold medals.

1) The Running of the Bull (2:25) Diablo SV (only car available) You must run from the cops, make use of the shortcuts (there's only 2) and corner efficiently in this Time Challenge. My best time 2:24

2) World Rally Reunion (2:38) Lancia "MUD" (only car available) Lots of offroad in this Sprint Race, so make sure you stay on it. My best time 2:37

3) Autosprada Attack (2:30) Maserati GTMC (only car available) Beat the Clock style race, avoid traffic and corner efficiently. My best time 2:29

4) Family Business (2:05) Zonda R (only car available) you must beat 2 rivals (also in Pagani's) down the mountain. My best time 2:03

5) Neptune's Wrath (2:30) Maserati MC12 (only car available) you must beat a rival. My best time 2:25

Earn a gold medal or better for each event in the “Italy vs. The World” Challenge Series

There are 5 challenges in this playlist. All times listed below are for Gold medals.

1) Land of the Raging Bull (3:15) You have a choice of cars, I personally used the Lamborghini Superleggera; due to ease of handling in this Sprint Race. My best time 3:13

2) Shore Runners (2:35) Again you have a choice of cars, I used the Lamborghini Superleggera in this Sprint Race. My best time 2:32

3) Autobahn Attack (2:10) I personally used the Lambo Elemento, avoid contact with walls, traffic and the cops at all costs. My best time 2:08.

4) Bangers and Smash (2:15) You have a choice of many cars, this is a Battle Mode Race. I used the Lancia "MUD". My best time 2:13

5) Veni, Vidi, Vici (3:20) Again, you have many cars to choose from, this is a Sprint Race on a snowy track. I used the Zonda Cinque "SHADOW" as it's very easy to drive. My best time 3:17

Below is a complete list of the solo objectives.

You will generally finish these 5 solo objectives first!

1) Place first in any race with the Lamborghini Superleggera Tier 4: This can be tricky as depending on the Tier race you are doing, there are 2 Superleggera's. There is a flat black version, and then there's a lime green version. You want the Lime Green Superleggera. Get a win with it.
2) Place first in any race with the Alfa Romeo 8C Tier 4: Depending on what Tier race you have, it's the first car on the left.
3) Place first in any race with the Lamborghini Diablo Tier 4: The default Diablo is yellow. Pick that car and get a win!
4) Place first in any race with the Pagani Zonda R Tier 6: This is generally a Tier 6 race, it will say specifically "Zonda R" in the description of the car, farthest to the right.
5) Place first in any race with the Maserati MC12 Tier 6: This is the Mas that looks much more like a street racer. It will say specifically MC12 on it.

**Completing 1-5 will unlock the NFS Lancia**

6) Place first in any race with the Lancia Tier 4: the Lancia you actually need is the NFS edition Lancia HF (color blue!) which is unlocked once you complete 5 of the Italian solo objectives (listed above).
7) Accumulate 6 seconds of draft with the Maserati MC12 Tier 6: Just stay behind another players car and draft it.
8) Pass 5 racers with the Pagani Zonda R Tier 6: easy enough, just pass some players in any session with this car.
9) Place 1st in any session with the NFS Lamborghini Diablo SV Tier 6: must place 1st in an entire session with this car.
10) Place 1st in any session with the NFS Maserati MC Stradale Tier 6: must place 1st in an entire session with this car.

**Completing 6-10 will unlock the NFS Alfa Romeo 8C**

11) Place 1st in any session with the NFS Alfa Romeo 8C Tier 6: must place 1st in an entire session with this car. I do believe this car unlocks once you complete 10 solo objectives.
12) Complete a race without taking damage to the NFS Alpha Romeo 8C Tier 6: don't have to win it, just finish, avoid cars and sharp corners at all costs. I personally got lucky on this one.. I joined a session in progress with this car and never even entered the race, everyone had finished and the challenge said "complete" at the ending race screen.
13) Complete 10 clean pass with the NFS Maserati MC Stradale Tier 6: Accumulate 10 clean passes in a session.
14) 20 near misses with the NFS Lamborghini Diablo SV Tier 6: Accumulate near misses over multiple races/sessions. Just pass traffic by very close.
15) Place first in any session with "MUD" Tier 5: must place 1st in an entire session with this car.

**Completing 11-15 will unlock the Lamborghini 'Sunspot'**

16) Complete 15 passes using nitrous with "SUNSPOT" Tier 5: just boost past those racers!
17) Reach top speed for 15 seconds using "SUNSPOT" Tier 5: put the pedal down and reach max speed for as long as possible; pretty sure this accumulates over time. Must be done in 1 race!
18) Make 5 jumps with "MUD" Tier 5: just get some air 5 times! (Leaving San Francisco is the best for this objective as a majority of Tier 5 races are relatively flat)
19) Complete 20 dirty passes with "CRIMINAL" Tier 5: Hit your opponent as you pass them.. do this 20 times.
20) Place first in any session using "CRIMINAL" Tier 5: must win an entire session.

** Completing 16-20 will unlock the Alfa Romeo 8C Serpent**

Notes/Information/Bitch Session

The way these solo objectives is set up is pretty ridiculous. Only having 3 available at a time to complete, then factor in the chance you actually get that car available to you in the next session. It's just a dumb setup. It would've been better if they were just all available at the start.

For example.. once you complete 2 or 3 of the solo objectives one will pop up that says "Win with the Lancia". You don't even have this car yet, because you need to complete 5 solo objectives to even unlock it.

Also, some of the objectives are unclear, like the aforementioned Lancia and the Superleggera. There are actually 2 Superleggera's (1 Lime, 1 Flat Black) depending on what tier race you get. For the objective to count, you need the Lime Green one. As far as I can tell there's not much difference between the two of them, but only one counts.

Not knowing when the special edition cars unlock! I would assume that the NFS editions of the cars will unlock after you complete the solo challenges "win a session with 'X' car". But I don't know for sure.

The lack of private matches makes these 10 times harder to complete. Having to play session after session to maybe get 1 car in a tier you actually need and then possibly losing is just maddening. I don't mind playing, but I usually get outclassed by players online and it's just frustrating is all.

The hardest part about these achievements is actually getting the tiers that you need to complete the respective challenges!

I hate the NFS Diablo SV! It is impossible to win a session with it! And I have to use it because I need to complete the objective to unlock a new car, which is used for the other two objectives I can currently do! Annoying is an understatement.

I finally won a session with the stupid Diablo! Once I won with the Diablo, the next two sessions I also won with the Alfa and the MUD which means I have no more sessions to win apart from the last objective, happy days!

For the 17th solo objective above, max. speed for 15secs in the Diablo, this has to be done in one race but not all at once, as long as you accumulate the 15secs within the race you will get it.

CHALLENGES:

I've successfully gotten all of the gold medals for the Italian Challenge races and even got a platinum medal on one of them. :)

Overall, I found the Italian challenge races to be overall, easier than most of the non-DLC challenges in the game itself.

It's nice to net an extra 100G from this game on top of 750G from the regular game.

OBJECTIVES:

This is where I've come close to damaging my vocal cords after screaming at the TV.

I just cannot for the life of me get a 1st place with any of these god damn vehicles. I sank numerous hours this week trying to complete these objectives but I just keep crashing the fucking vehicle, or worse, some fucking civilian vehicle instantly pops out in front of me before I have a chance to react and all of my hard work goes down the drain.

I've tried all methods, avoided contact with walls or vehicles only for another racer to simply zoom by me and me never able to catch up. I've now come to terms that these '1st place' objectives are more sheer luck as opposed to using your skills to the max.

These should be the final objects, NOT the first ones. I've tried so many times trying to get first place with the vehicles but can never avoid a single screw up or crashing. After so many times of this bullshit, I've finally had it and am closing the books on NFS: The Run after I get driver levels 25 and 30 and maybe aim for "Win At Winning". I've had it with constantly screwing up or losing the lead and now feel like I'm beating a horse's skeleton in the Arizona desert.

Now excuse me while I chug down an entire month's worth of magnesium oxide powder in order to cleanse my system of this shit.
