Introduction:

Completing all of the tactical challenges will earn you several weapon attachments, as well as the 'Master Tactician' Achievement (Complete 100% of the tactical challenges).
There are a total of 12 missions. Each one has 3 tactical challenges. If you die after completing a challenge you do not have to do it again, it will stay saved after the first completion! You can do the tactical challenges over multiple playthroughs or in Mission Selection. The chosen difficulty does not matter (only for the challenges that are tied to a difficulty - Mission 4, 6, 9, 10).
You do not have to reach the end of the mission to make the tactical challenge count. You can drop out after reaching the next checkpoint. The enemies have the same motion pattern on every difficulty.
The video walkthroughs were captured on Elite Difficulty (Solo) with 0 deaths.

Mission 1 - "Nimble Guardian" - Difficulty 1/5:

1) Express Train: During the ambush at the cog rail station, kill all soldiers in 60 seconds
Tactic: Throw Motion Sensors to make enemies visible and shoot them through cover with a strong weapon (The MK48 LMG is perfect here).
(3:39 - 4:38)

2) No Witnesses: Don't leave any witnesses alive in Paez's HQ
Tactic: Paez's HQ is the area where no alarm is allowed. Equip a silenced weapon (e.g. in the weapon box infront of the HQ entrance). Take out the two patrolling targets on the right and the guard on the rooftop to your left (throw sensors if you cannot find him). Then you shoot the 6 enemies in the middle of the area with your silenced weapon. You have to be quick here and make sure that you don't have to reload.
(9:28 - 10:48)

3) Ace of Diamonds: Execute 10 headshots while in damond formation
Tactic: After rescuing the main target you will be in diamon formation. Take your time and aim for enemies heads. You can still reload the last checkpoint during the final cutscene and try it again.
(11:31 - 14:20)

Mission 2 - "Subtle Arrow" - Difficulty 2/5:

1) Protector: Complete the mission without causing any civilian casualties
Tactic: Just don't shoot any civilians. If you kill one by accident reload the last checkpoint. Check your challenge stats on the map menu if you are not sure whether you killed a civilian or not.
(0:27 - 28:20)

2) Secure the Camp: Eliminate all of the soldiers who have taken control of the refugee camp
Tactic: After the bus drive you will be in the refugee camp. Use magnetic view to see enemies through solid surface and give your teammates the command to elimante the enemies. Watch out that you don't raise an alarm.
(6:26 - 14:03)

3) Steely Gaze: Kill 10 enemies while in Magnetic view
Tactic: Simply enable magnetic view and kill 10 enemies by yourself. The kills of AI teammates won't count.
(1:16 - 28:20)

Mission 2 Video Walkthrough - Elite Difficulty (Solo)

Ghost Recon Future Soldier - Mission 2 Tactical Challenges Walkthrough - Elite Difficulty - YouTube

Mission 3 - "Noble Tempest" - Difficulty 4/5:

1) Fast Mover: Go through the village in 60 seconds without any civilians dying
Tactic: Most important part is that you don't kill civilians. Time shouldn't be an issue. Use magnetic view to spot enemies behind cover, but always exit magnetic view before shooting! You cannot see civilians in magnetic view and would probably kill some by accident. I did this on elite difficulty, but you can do it on recruit difficulty to have more health.
(1:23 - 2:23)

2) Clear the Pitch: Eliminate all the mercs playing soccer without raising the alarm
Tactic: Take out the enemy in the tower and the one on the far left who is patrolling around some containers. Now move to the area where the first enemy in the watchtower was located. There should be 3 enemies patrolling. Give your teammates the command to eliminate them once the enemy on separated enemy on the right is behind some boxes (so that the soccer players cannot see the dead body). Then kill the two enmies that are standing next to each other (line them up for a double headshot or let your teammates do the job). Now you need to kill the 5 remaining enemies at once, with a silenced weapon. Mark 3 for your teammates and quickly kill 2 by yourself.
(3:10 - 5:29)

Alternative strategy (thanks to Mr Yac (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/member.php?u=200029) & Exactorit (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/member.php?u=468172)):

if you kill the 4 soccer players first as long as you get all 4 of them at once the challange unlocks, even when the guys around them notice.

3) No Blood No Foul: Infiltrate the outpost, retrieve the data & extract without raising the alarm
Tactic: Always have your stealth camo activated and use the drone to spot enemies. The first enemies you want to eliminate are the ones on rooftops or in watchtowers. Do not attack the helicopter.
(15:23 - 22:30)

Mission 4 - "Tiger Dust" - Difficulty 4/5:

1) Clean Kills: Assault the HQ and take out the hostiles without any misses
Tactic: Take out the snipers on the way to the HQ without missing a shot. Let your temmates shoot moving targets for you. Once you jump through the window to clear the HQ of enemies you are not allowed to miss a shot during the slow motion sequence. Make sure that you equip an accurate weapon before this sequence starts and only fire 1 shot per enemy (or 2 if they are still alive).
(0:39 - 4:30)

2) Killer Pursuit: Destroy every enemy vehicle during the chopper gunride
Tactic: Just watch out for enemy vehicles and destroy all of them. They are highlighted with a red trianlge sign and are easy to spot. You also need to destroy the enemy chopper.
(11:27 - 12:55)

3) Bird in the Air: On Elite difficulty, take out the enemy RPG before your chopper gets shot
Tactic: This should come naturally when playing on Elite. Just kill every enemy that you see.
(13:20 - 13:50)

Mission 4 Video Walkthrough - Elite Difficulty (Solo)

Ghost Recon Future Soldier - Mission 4 Tactical Challenges Walkthrough - Elite Difficulty - YouTube

Mission 5 - "Silent Talon" - Difficulty 2/5:

1) Release the Hound: Use the Warhound to kill at least 75% of the enemies during the mission
Tactic: Never use your weapons, always kill enemies with the warhound. This should unlock at the end of the mission. Don't let your teammates kill too many enmies or you might miss this one.
(3:13 - 28:33)

2) Group Shot: Kill 5 or more enemies with a single Warhound Mortar
Tactic: Should come naturally. I got it in this sort of underground facility, after using the ship.
(13:31 - 14:04)

3) Silent Talon: Eliminate both enemy choppers without losing a squadmate
Tactic: Once you see two choppers attacking you, go into cover and use the warhound's guided missile to shoot down the choppers. It takes two shots to destroy a chopper. If one of your AI teammates (or yourself) die during the chopper fight you will have to reload the last checkpoint.

Mission 6 - "Firefly Rain" - Difficulty 5/5:

1) Make them Count: Finish the mission using less than 50 rounds of ammo
Tactic: Always let your teammates kill the enemies and save your shots for the extraction sequence (see challenge #2). If you have to shoot then use a sniper rifle. One shot usually kills an enemy. You can also mark enemies for your AI teammates after being spotted and camp in a safe area while they do all the hard work for you.
(1:29 - 23:31)

2) Ghost Escape: Once the objective's complete, extract without being shot down
Tactic: Search for good cover (I camped behind a big container on the left part of the area) and throw sensors to highlight enemies around you. Try to kill as many enemies as possible to support your teammates. Give your teammates the command to focus fire on targets that are out of your sight. Throwing frag grenades also helps (especially when the enemy transporter comes in). If you or one of your teammates die then you will have to reload the checkpoint!
(20:23 - 23:14)

3) On Board Clean: On Elite difficulty, sabotage the equipment in less than 20 minutes after insertion
Tactic: Just do one run on a difficulty of your choice to get to know the enemies motion pattern or follow the attached video guide from scratch. You can kill all enemies without being detected. You have more than enough time for this, just keep in mind in which order you need to kill the enemies.
(0:45 - 12:26)

Mission 6 Video Walkthrough - Elite Difficulty (Solo)

Ghost Recon Future Soldier - Mission 6 Tactical Challenges Walkthrough - Elite Difficulty - YouTube

Mission 7 - "Ember Hunt" - Difficulty 4/5:

1) No Safe Distance: Stealthily kill all Russian riflemen assaulting the house
Tactic: Start by taking out the two enemies who overwatch the area. You will run straight into them when entering the area. Now you kill the 3 enemies that are camping behind walls on the ground level. Sometimes an enemy stops at the bottom of the right staircase. Take him out if that's the case. If he keeps moving then there should be a total of 5 enemies on the left side. If he stopped at the staircase then there will only be 4 enemies. Take all of them out at once while the 3 enmies infront of the house are firing their weapons. Take out the 3 enemies on the right side and finally the 3 infront of the house.
(5:42 - 7:55)

2) Neckbreaker: Kill 40 enemies by snapping their necks
Tactic: You don't really have to "snap" their necks. You just need to kill 40 enemies with melee attacks. Stealthily kill enemies from behind to get some of those kills (~10 if you are doing well) and get the other 30 while in combat. Playing on Recruit difficulty makes sense for this challenge. Try to kill every enemy with melee attacks! At the end of the mission - after your extraction chopper has been shot down - an infinite amount of enemies will keep spawning. You can farm all your missing kills here. Just stay in cover and let the enemies assault your position. Once they are close enough you leave your cover to perform a quick melee kill.
(0:42 - 29:19)

3) Death From Above: Kill all the snipers and RPGs during your escape
Tactic: This should come naturally. It also counts if your AI teammates kill them... and there is a good chance that they will kill all of them automatically. Use your magnetic views to see enemies through surfaces and watch out for enemies on rooftops and balconies. Those are the ones you want to kill.
(17:10 - 21:07)

Mission 7 Video Walkthrough - Elite Difficulty (Solo)

Ghost Recon Future Soldier - Mission 7 Tactical Challenges Walkthrough - Elite Difficulty - YouTube

Mission 8 - "Deep Fire" - Difficulty 5/5:

1) Undetected: Reach the drilling ship entrance without killing any guards
Tactic: Always stay cloaked and move around enemies. If you come to a road where soldiers are blocking the way then move left for an alternative path. Lay down if the threat indicator shows that you are about to be spotted.
(1:00 - 3:26)

2) Roger Dodger: Once the timer has started, make it to the control room in under 2 minutes
Tactic: Once you see the 3:30 timer, run up the stairs and kill all of the enemies while moving. If your health is low then stay in cover for a moment or lay down (makes it harder for enemies to hit you). Activate the night vision goggles to highlight enemies.
(6:58 - 8:45)

3) Wrecker: Destroy all enemy vehicles during the gunride
Tactic: Simply shoot all vehicles until they explode.
There are 2 helicopters, 1 tank, several humvees and lots of trucks. You also have to destroy parked trucks! Absolutely every vehicle needs to be destroyed, not just the ones with a red marker. It should be easy to spot them, but pay attention when you approach the enemy camp after shooting down the first helicopter. There will be lots of parked trucks and if you don't shoot them quickly they are easy to miss. If you are not a 100% whether you missed a vehicle or not then reload the checkpoint (and maybe take a look on the attached video). If you mess up and reach the the next checkpoint there is no turning back and you would have to replay the mission from scratch.
It doesn't matter whether you or your teammates destroy the vehicles.
(20:38 - 24:16)

Mission 8 Video Walkthrough - Elite Difficulty (Solo)

Ghost Recon Future Soldier - Mission 8 Tactical Challenges Walkthrough - Elite Difficulty - YouTube

Mission 9 - "Valiant Hammer" - Difficulty 3/5:

1) Ghostly Recon: On Veteran difficulty, reach the observation point without alerting any enemies
Tactic: This also be done on Elite difficulty! After the mission starts you have to take out a bunch of enemies. Mark the first 4 (3 on a road and one in a hut) and kill them together with your teammates. Continue by taking out the 3 enemies on the right part of the map with a synched team kill. Now take out the last 3 enemies on the left side. After reaching the next waypoint you will encounter another, large group of enemies. Simply sneak around them until you reach the observation point and kill the enemies afterwards.
(0:32 - 3:55)

2) Engraved: Rack up kills on all enemy sniper in the cemetery without being shot
Tactic: Stay in cover, use your drone and mark the snipers for your teammates. The snipers are fairly easy to locate with the help of the drone. Just watch out for little blinking lights. It doesn't matter if you teammates get killed or not. As long as you stay alive the challenge will unlock.
(30:35 - 31:22)

3) Innovative Diversity: Your squad must kill enemies with at least 15 different weapons
Tactic: Always check the weapons that are dropped by enemies! Pick them up if you didn't perform a kill with them already. When starting the mission I'd recommend to equip the VSS Sniper Rifle and P90 SMG, since these weapons won't appear anywhere during the mission and are good to take out the first couple enemies. Also check weapon boxes and switch your weapons after every kill. Frag grenade & incindiary grenade kills also count as kills towards this challenge.
(1:00 - 26:06)

Here is a written list of the weapons in this missions and how to find them (thanks to Splinter4 (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/member.php?u=371935)):

Mission 10 - "Gallant Thief" - Difficulty 5/5:

1) Quigely: Kill two enemies with a single bullet
Tactic: After reaching the canteen you will have to place 4 targeting beacons for an airstrike. Infront of the third one are 2 still standing enemies. Line them up perfectly and kill them with a headshot. Any weapon should do the job, but it's recommended to use a silenced weapon, so that the other enemies won't hear you (I used a silenced ACR).
(12:54 - 13:23)

2) Hands On: Reach the canteen without firing a weapon
Tactic: Simply sneak around all enemies and avoid being seen. Kill the enemies that are blocking your way by breaking their necks (CQB kills). Stay cloaked and move slowly. If nearby enemies are looking into your direction then lay down or hide behind cover. You should reload the last checkpoint if you raise an alarm.
(0:54 - 6:30)

3) Secret Service: On Elite difficulty, find President Volodin inside the prison in under 2 minutes
Tactic: The given time for this one is very short! Sneak around all enemies and kill the ones that are blocking your way with a silenced weapon. You will have to run at some points (when no enemies are looking into your direction), otherwise you won't be fast enough! The president is in the room on the left. You have to use your drone to open the door.
(15:05 - 17:01)

Mission 10 Video Walkthrough - Elite Difficulty (Solo)

Ghost Recon Future Soldier - Mission 10 Tactical Challenges Walkthrough - Elite Difficulty - YouTube

Mission 11 - "Invisible Bear" - Difficulty 3/5:

1) Dodge the Dot: Avoid being taken out by a sniper during the mission
Tactic: Always stay in cover and let your teammates kill the enemies for you. Use your drone to overwatch the areas and mark enemies for your teammates. If a sniper should take you out then you will have restart the entire mission.
(4:08 - 26:14)

2) Clean Sweep: Clear General Bukharov's room in under 20 seconds
Tactic: This should come naturally when playing offline with AI teammates. Once you breach into the room kill everyone you see.
(33:22 - 33:42)

3) Disruptor: Kill at least 10 Bodark while they are still under the effects of an EMP
Tactic: The Bodark are the "invisible" enemies. There are a total of ~15 throughout the entire mission. Make sure that your teammates do not kill too many of them! You encounter the first group (3 Bodark) in a wide open area on top of a building (after the sniper sequence on the rooftops). As you progress in this huge area you will encounter some more Bodark. Towards the end of the mission you will come to an office. There are ~10 Bodark in there (every enemy in the office, except the ones with the shields). Throw an EMP grenade when they are trying to assualt your position and restore the grenades at ammo boxes. The EMP effect will disable their stealth camouflage for a few seconds. That's the time when you have to kill them.
You have to kill 10 Bodark by yourself! If a teammate kills them it won't count (no matter if it's an AI teammate or human player)! Reload the last checkpoint if you didn't do so well in one of those areas. You should have at least 2 kills before you enter the office.

Ghost Recon Future Soldier - Mission 11 Tactical Challenges Walkthrough - Elite Difficulty - YouTube

Mission 12 - "Shattered Mountain" - Difficulty 5/5:

1) Swamp Fox: On Elite difficulty, reach the swamp without being detected
Tactic: You reach the swamp after killing 5 of 7 HVTs and may not be detected a single time throughout the mission. There are lots of enemies to deafeat in a specific order. Follow the video from scratch and pay attention to the order in which the enemies are marked and from where I shoot and when I shoot! Sometimes if you shoot an enemy from an other direction their dead body can easily fall somewhere, where other enemies can see it. If you shoot too early or too late then another patrolling guard might see the kill. Marking the enemies in the correct order is important because some enemies cannot be shot by your teammates (e.g. the patrolling one behind the house where the first HVT is located).
(1:03 - 15:56)

2) Countdown: Kill all the High Value Targets in the farm area in 3 seconds or less
Tactic: Mark the 3 HVTs for your teammates and give the command for a synched shot. All of them will be dead within a second. If you have problems to locate one of the HVTs then throw motion sensors.
(9:40 - 13:16)

3) HVT: Intercept the two fleeing HVTs in under 6 minutes
Tactic: After killing 5 out of 7 HVTs you will have to chase down the last two of them. Run through all areas as fast as possible and do not stay in cover too long.

I do not want to sound silly, but I was wondering whether or not you have to complete all of the challenges in one play through of the mission. Let's say you complete 2 out of 3, can you go back and just finish off the 3rd one after? And do you have to complete the mission for them to save?

PowerPyx
05-23-2012, 02:30 PM
I will quote a part of the introduction ;)

If you die after completing a challenge you do not have to do it again, it will stay saved after the first completion! You can do the tactical challenges over multiple playthroughs or in Mission Selection. The chosen difficulty does not matter (only for the challenges that are tied to a difficulty - Mission 4, 6, 9, 10).
You do not have to reach the end of the mission to make the tactical challenge count. You can drop out after reaching the next checkpoint.

No, you do not have to complete all challenges in one playthrough. You can do them over multiple playthroughs and replay the mission via mission select with different difficulty settings. Everything will stay saved... you don't even have to complete the mission after completing a challenge. After reaching the next checkpoint you can drop out and it will stay saved.

Yep, me and my squad (lol) got a few challenges just playing through last night. Together, obviously.

However, I am unsure whether or not a challenge like: Get 10 head shots, would count for each person or whether it is cumulative between you and your squad.

Can these tactical challenges be done in co-op also?

As already answered, yes. But keep note: If one person has already done the challenge, it will already be checked for them. You can't see your partner's progress.

So if you have already done a challenge for Progressing through area X in 60 seconds, with no civilian casualties, but your partner hasn't, HE has to check occasionally to see the time limit and make sure there are no casualties. YOU will just see a check mark

Wouldn't be that hard, you have to unlock a sniper first. The 417 is an assault rifle not sniper. If you get Exacto ammo it makes the challenge even easier.

You do not. In the left hangar (either before or after you shoot down the plane), there is an area that has a sniper ( i believe to be a VSS). After you start the ambush by walking to the rally point at the plane, run back towards the tail of the plane and take cover back there. 10 kills are pretty easy that way

Nice guide.
But, for Valiant Hammer #3 you should probably tell people to start with something other than the M110 since that is Pepper's weapon. Starting with the SRR or something is a better idea.

Yeah, something similar happened to me.

My friends and I tried to get the Eliminate Russians Attacking Health Stealthily challenge for about an hour.

One of them got disconnected, so we had to restart the whole mission.
I was so fed up of doing it that I just said f**k it! We are doing this once, I do not care if we get detected.

We got it on our first try...However, I kill the guys on the right side of the house first. :S I think in the video he kills the left guys first. Not too sure.

Yeah this challenge is a little weird indeeded. I see lots of comments below the video where people say that they have problems. For me it worked 2 out of 3 times that way. I guess I got lucky there.

All I can recommend is to copy exactly what I do in the vid.

Lay down between the car & wall on the left side of the area
Fire your weapon when the 3 dudes infront of the house are firing theirs
Shoot guy #4 when he crouches down
Use the weapon I used (Silenced ACR)... if you are using another - stronger weapon it's maybe the bullet that penetrates through the car behind guy #4 and alerts enemies
Make sure to give him a headshot so that his body falls backwards
Make sure that the penetrating bullet hits the car - I think if it flies through the cars windows (e.g. when you shoot while standing) it hits the wall behind you and alerts enemies

If anyone else has problems, please test it this way and if any of this helps leave a post so that I can figure out what the problem is.

If anyone has a completely different strategy (for this or any other mission) then please leave a post and I'll be happy to add it to the guide and give you proper credit.

Excellent guide.

I discovered yesterday in a co-op game: You can just shoot the 4 guys playing football before the others hanging around if stealth isn't your thing. As long as the alarm isn't raised before all 4 are down you get credited for the challenge. Your way is better in the spirit of the mission but it's not actually needed to complete the challenge.

Mission 9 - "Valiant Hammer" - Difficulty 3/5:

1) On Veteran difficulty, reach the observation point without alerting any enemies
For the last are you have to clear out, I actually found that it was really easy to kill them all. I did it on my first attempt playing Solo on Elite.

I killed the two guys on my left close left first when they stopped close to one another, and they were both facing where I was entering from.

Then, I killed the three that were semi-clustered off to my right side.

Then I killed the last four that were by the house the same way that you did it in your video.

Mission 9 - "Valiant Hammer" - Difficulty 3/5:

3) Your squad must kill enemies with at least 15 different weapons
Tactic: Always check the weapons that are dropped by enemies! Pick them up if you didn't perform a kill with them already. When starting the mission I'd recommend to equip the VSS Sniper Rifle and P90 SMG, since these weapons won't appear anywhere during the mission and are good to take out the first couple enemies. Also check weapon boxes and switch your weapons after every kill.
(1:00 - 26:06)

Hey Guys,
I just finished this one (15 different weapons) and thought I'd share some things I noticed:

Melee attacks will never count. Even if you get the knife-to-the-throat animation, and even though the knife is certainly a weapon.
Under-barrel attachments will never count. I blew-up countless guys with the AK47's grenade launcher... just to be sure.
None of the fixed guns placed throughout this mission will ever count. I tried 'em all.

So basically it HAS TO BE a kill with 1 of the 2 loadout weapons you (or your squad) carry to count towards the 15 total you need.

I followed PowerPyx's advice and started the Mission with the P90 but I haven't done the Sniper Weapon Challenge yet, so I used the old MSR Sniper Rifle instead.

My first engagement gave me 4 of 15 simply by doing a sync-shot with my squad... and by the time I reached the tank convoy, I had 14 of 15. And at that spot is a weapon box with a shotgun (which coincided nicely with the Weapon Challenge I still needed: 3 kills - 3 shots - 3 seconds).

Here's how it worked out for me.
The weapon kills that counted were from...

P90 (SMG)
squad kill
squad kill
squad kill
MSR (Sniper)
a dead enemy's RPK (LMG)
Scorpion (SMG) - weapon box
Mk48 (LMG) - weapon box
a dead enemy's AN-94 (Assault)
squad kill (while under fire they must have switched weapons?)

squad kill
a dead enemy's PKP (LMG)
a dead enemy's PP19 (SMG)
AK47 (Assault) - weapon box
M1014 (Shotgun) - weapon box

I was surprised at how much easier this was than I expected it to be. Oh, and I was playing Single-Player (not co-op).

Hope that helps. Cheers :drunk

Well, that's also a way to do it, but I think it's easier to follow the sneaky way where you actually don't have to kill any enemies. Otherwise I'm just afraid that people will mess it up and encounter problems.

P90 (SMG)

squad kill
squad kill
MSR (Sniper)

Anyone else run into the issue where if you don't complete a mission it takes away the challenges you completed when you come back? I know it says you only need to make a checkpoint and I'm sure I have. I noticed this originally on an early mission and then more specifically on mission 8 - deep fire.

During my first sitting I completed Undetected and Roger Dodger, I play to the part just before the helipad when you hold out against all the enemies swarming around above from all sides. Surely there had to be a checkpoint after at least the Undetected challenge was completed. When I continued playing later that day neither of these challenges were checked.

Is there a certain way to ensure the game saves, I know I quit after an auto save, which I assumed were checkpoints. Any help, tips, advice would be appreciated.

YES! And thanks for bringing this up.
I'm glad to hear I wasn't the only one.

I start my 2nd playthrough, using this awesome
guide by PowerPyx of course, and I start with Mission 1 for
the 1st and 2nd Tac-Challenges. I get them both, get to the
next check-point, and quit. I'm about to start Mission 2,
but first I decide to go back and make sure they saved...
but they didn't. What the hell?

So, I go back and do it again, but this time I play the Mission
all the way to the end. And lo and behold, they saved.

So with that in mind, I've been making sure to re-play each
of these Missions all the way to the end. That seems to be
working fine, and all the Tac-Challenges have been saving.

Thanks man. Glad it helped. And thanks to PowerPyx for giving me Credit.
And just to clarify, that list I made was sequential, and was updated
after each confirmed kill (by checking the Challenges List). And I only
made the list to keep track of which weapons I had used so I wouldn't
double up.

But you're right, I picked the one sniper rifle that was available at every
weapons box I found (MSR). Dohhh. So I shoulda picked something
different (and other than the MK110).

So this means that it's actually possible to get all 15 long before you
reach that Tank Convoy checkpoint. Wow.

YES! I was just about to post this. Super fucking annoying. I had 3 missions that I stopped mid way through because it was late. Next day I continued on, completed the remaining challenges, only to find the the challenges I completed the night before were NOT credited at the post mission screen. So angry about that. Especially for swamp fox on the last level. I had all but the last 2 challenge done on that mission. Shut it off because the last part of the mission was pissing me off. So of course I lost all the challenges for that mission. So frustrating running after those two tools at the end on elite. And not looking forward to going undetected until the swamp on elite again. GRRR>

It would be so nice if you could just get the challenges that were missed, get to the next checkpoint then quit to the menu and get credit without needing to complete the whole mission. I kind of doubt that will be the case though.

You need to shoot the guys on the left from a better spot so that the body drops behind the vehicle and isn't seen by the 3 at the front door of the safehouse. It is always the guy on the right of that group of 3 that sees the body. Best bet is to make sure that you and one of your squad shoot the two behind the truck from the right side of the short back retaining wall. that way the bodies fall to the left and are hidden buy the vehicle from the door guy.

Ok, I got this but it was still happening where one or two of them didn't register as I dropped an EMP right on them. I got through the first section with 6 kills. Entering the office at the end, that was much easier to rack up the remaining kills.

No, didn't use magnetics at all. It was weird because I'd literally throw an EMP right on them, they would lose their camo, I'd kill them and it wouldn't register on the tally. I'm sure it's some sort of glitch. I got the challenge so I'm not too worried about it but that was probably the most frustrating one of all of them.

Mission 12 - "Shattered Mountain" - Difficulty 5/5:[/B]

First, thanks PowerPyx for this great guide. I'm well on my way to 100% on the challenges, thanks to you.

Mission 7 - No Safe Distance: Every time I shoot the 3 or 4 on the left-hand side, the far right of the three shooting through the windows always sees a dead body. Every. Time.

Edit: Finally! Not that time.

Best bet is to make sure that you and one of your squad shoot the two behind the truck from the right side of the short back retaining wall. that way the bodies fall to the left and are hidden buy the vehicle from the door guy.

I tried this challenge probably 10-12 times, but that same guy in front always saw the body behind the truck. I just couldn't get him to fall right.

So, out of sheer frustration, I tried it a slightly different way and got it on the first try:

1) pick off most in the recommended sequence, leaving the 4 on the left and 3 at the front left side window.
2) shoot the rear-most 2 on the left side wall (leaving the two right behind the truck).
3) shoot the 3 at the front window.
4) shoot the remaining 2 behind the truck.

I was as surprised as anyone that this worked, but the two behind the truck somehow never saw the three at the front window get dropped.

I think there's a measure of luck on the timing either way. But, for someone who is having the same frustration I was, it at least might be worth a shot.

Guys easy way to get 8 assault rifle kills in 30 secs equip your gun with a grenade launcher - yes it counts. You can use this in both missions when the challenge appears. In Tigers Dust when you have to secure the site around the flipped SUV unload your grenade launcher on the troop trucks that arrive. Time so you take each truck out as they offload troops. Each truck contains 4 people. In the second mission where the challenge appears you can get 8 kills with the grenade launcher at the end of the race for the control room in Deep Fire. There are plenty of bunched up enemies on the last catwalk and outside the control room.

This is a toughy but if you can get atleast seven headshots in the first sequence you should get it. This is the only time the game gives you time to carefully aim and line up your shots before you are moved along on rails. Take advantage of it. Take out the gunner first, the guy on the lower left, then the guy above him. Next take the two gunners out on the roof and the guy right below. If you have time take out another guy on the upper right. Next sequence don't try hitting moving targets wait till they stop. After this you should only need a couple of more and you get three more sequences to try. If you see the truck burst through the wall and the challenge hasn't popped restart the checkpoint quickly.

One other tip it helped me by switching my default pistol at the beginning of the mission and putting a laser sight on it.

Thanks for the guide, there's just one thing I'd like to point out:

Mission 7 - "Ember Hunt" - Difficulty 4/5:

2) Neckbreaker: Kill 40 enemies by snapping their necks
Tactic: At the end of the mission - after your extraction chopper has been shot down - an infinite amount of enemies will keep spawning. You can farm all your missing kills here. Just stay in cover and let the enemies assault your position.

The enemies stop respawning after a certain period of time. After melee killing almost all of the reinforcements, they quit coming at around 30 kills. If you manage to get at least 20 or so melee kills before that part then you should be good. Otherwise, don't even waste your time with this part if you didn't get any melee kills prior.

Anybody have advice for scoring well on the Deep Fire mission?

I'm having trouble pushing my Ghost Squad score over 80%. I've already beat all the challenges there, so I'm now just going through it trying to get the score up, working towards "Good Enough For Government Work." But my best is only 77% after two Elite runs. Very frustrating.

What should I be focusing on to score higher?

EDIT: sorry, I just realized this question might be off-topic in this thread. If anyone still wants to give me some tips, I'll gladly take 'em! Otherwise, for anyone else also struggling with this problem, I found two other threads already discussing it: [1 (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=376318)][2 (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=372980)]

I'm sure you've gotten it by now, but this one was tough for me too. Deep Fire was the last mission I needed to unlock the 80% achievement.

Strategy: Headshots, your accuracy really helps I think. Silent Talon was another mission I had problems on until I started taking the enemy out with headshots and I ended up with a 92/100.
