Hey guys,

Thought I would create a thread to draw attention to a possible issue making 'The Hero' missable.

There are a fair few number of quests in the game that if you do not do them fast enough they will disappear and be undoable. As of yet I can't confirm if this affects 'The Hero' or if that only counts ones entered into your current log/finished.

Unfortunately there is no easy way to tell what quests are miss-able. Sometimes they will outright say ''Please hurry'' ''You have to act soon'' or something similar in which case you know. However other times it will simply be something you have to infer from the context i.e. someone is lost in the wilderness therefore they won't last long.

So far it seems that most of these miss-able quests relate to escorting people or directly helping someone in danger. So if you see these type pop up then probably best to do them asap.

When/if I complete all the quests I will post the results of if missing some affects it. If anyone manages it sooner it would be nice if they could do the same.

EDIT: I should also add that in some cases it unfortunately may be unavoidable. Quite often you will have to accept quests without knowing what they are. It is entirely possible to be given a quest that is VERY difficult at your level so you need to level up to do it, but it is also timed/progression based.

You dont need to do every board quest. Only 50 so its ok if they go away. As far as side quests, the guide book doesnt say anything about. There is however choices you will have to make as far as what quests will become available. And just to let people know, 2 achievements at the end are to not fight the dragon and another is to end your journey early so you might want to pull those saves for a usb and reload them after

I know you don't have to do every board quest that's why I didn't include The Laborer lol =D

However there are still proper, non-board quests, that can be missed due to time limits.

Being careful to avoid spoilers does the guide mention anything about the Quina quest? As this is one that can be missed.

I know there is one quest in the beginning of the game that is time sensitive. It's the one where you have to bring flowers to the lady after the Wyrm attack. I'm doing it again to see what her name is and I'll update it.

I'm assuming he wants to do his best to do all the quests as he can. Kind of like me xD

Argg I'm wracking my brain for it now. I will boot up my game when I am home and see what the title is. It's the one that involves going to witchwood. Given to you at the same time as you have to escort the cart to Gran Soren. The village elder gives it to you. I can remember everything but the name lol.

Seems Moryii knows one. I assumed that quest was time sensitive but I seemed to take a long time to do it and it was fine so I thought not. Apparently it is.

@Darth Cuda this is an achievement site. There is an achievement for completing all quests. Perhaps for a future guide it would be good to know about them hmm?

Are you sure? I went back and did it immediately after reaching Gran Soren. But one of the guys on my friends list said he went back after having done some stuff in GS and it wasn't there.

I did a google of it and there is a thread on gamefaqs with people complaining of the same thing. Not only this but I think it may well be the expired quest that the joystiq review refers too.

So if I fail a notice board quest, does that affect any achievements?

Yeah when you reach the city after the Hydra fight, that quest ends. It's an easy quest, just if you wait till then it will discontinue.

Shouldn't do. There are plenty of them and you only need to do 50. If an npc dies during one they will reappear after a week or so apparently.

@Flipadelphiia Since you have the guide I was wondering if it said anything about cancelling quests? Had an NPC from a notice board quest following me for hours now. If I cancel it is it the same as him dying where it takes a week to return? Or is a cancelled quest gone?

Most likely it will come back, depending on who it is. The book doesnt say anything about it but Ive canceled one before and it came back

Thanks man. I've had Reynard following me from GS back to my home town, to witchwood, back to GS and fighting an ogre on the way, then to Aernsts Castle, then finally all the way back to GS at night without a lantern lol.

So tired of having to run over and stop things from killing him. Any chance that was the quest you cancelled? As it seems you can take it ridiculously early.

So.. There are 3 different endings? You need to complete the game twice anyway, so probably better off doing this on your second playthrough.

when you choose not to fight the dragon, you can reload right before you have to make the choice and fight him

A troublesome Tomb quest conflicts with any future quests maul gives you since you have to kill maul to get the quest item for a troublesome tomb. I think thats the only way to get it. Do this one after you have done everything for maul. Will update more as I come across

Can't you pickpocket him instead as a Strider? (Pilfer & Master Thief dagger skills.)
