I have some questions Ive played it a bit as a Rogue style character I thought id restart due to being kinda lost as Ive ran around killing anything I seen saved before picking a class went for a mage this time decided id do better as the rogue now the only way it looks to re select is make a new game again

Is there only 1 save slot?
Can you change class mid game at some point?

once you get to Gran Soren for the 1st time. Which is pretty early in the game. You Can change your class anytime you want

And yes there is only 1 save slot. Game will Auto save sometimes over writing your Manual save. Only thing you can do is when you sleep at a inn's, it saves a checkpoint save. This is different from your main & auto save slot

You can choose from all the classes when you get to the main city. No need to restart from scratch etc.

ok changed from mage to strider but was looking at the other classes but the Magick Archer and Ranger seem more bow specialised I picked my class as climbing large oponnents and dealing damage with daggers would any of those vocations be good with daggers?

Also how mant vocations can you max out in the game? dont want to waste dep points on vocations and skills if i cant max out in my main one

Sounds like you might like the Assassin class. It's a mix of the Strider and Fighter classes. It can use any weapon type from what I remember. Not to worry about wasting points. You can quite easily max out every vocation and buy every possible skill well before you hit the 200 level cap. So have fun and experiment.

Yeah this game has a bit of a learning curve to it. It's really fun though once you master it. I play as a sorcerer and find it to be very fun. The magic system in this game is unlike anything I've played in other RPGs. And I've played most of them this gen. :p They're my favorite genre.

Well Sorcerer are purely DPS and Buff/Debuff characters. They don't have any healing spells. Mages are the only class that can heal as far as I know. I don't really know much about the Magick Archer. I haven't tried it out yet. But I don't believe they have any healing abilities. I could be wrong though.

Magic Archers do not get healing spells. The only staff skill they get that the other two classes do not is Perdition, which curses enemies.

In my opinion the class is all about it's dagger and bow skills. Switching from Strider or Ranger, you'll likely notice a drop in your damage output, especially with bows. Unfortunately, there are very few spellbows in the game, especially before post game. That said, I found the class works best as crowd control: between Shadowpin/shackle (daggers) and Funnel/Vortex Trail (bow), you have two excellent skills for stopping enemies. (Vortex is a bit better: it sucks in enemies from all around the area, and you can aim where you want it to appear.)

You also get Backfire/Immolation, in which you deliberately set yourself on fire to bring warm hugs to your enemies. Paired with Vortex Taril, and you have many dead burned things really quick.

Three/Sixfold Bolt is great against saurians and hellhounds, and knocks most other small enemies in the air briefly. Not so good against snow harpies and direwolves.

As I see it, you'll find a favorite vocation in the process of ranking them all out -- but I've found once you've got a general idea of how to take down the larger enemies, including the Ur-Dragon, the Assassin is one of the better choices because of Gouge.

"Stabs repeatedly at a large foe the user clings to."

Couple this ability with a Liquid Vim, you'll get grind-happy and start actively seeking Chimaeras, Cyclops, Ogres, Griffins, etc.
