Seen as you can choose what version of the games you want to play, I thought this was interesting>

Streets Of Rage : http://rq87.flyingomelette.com/RQ/region/SoR/SoR.html

Streets Of Rage 2 : http://rq87.flyingomelette.com/RQ/region/SoR2/SoR2.html

Streets Of Rage 3 : http://rq87.flyingomelette.com/RQ/region/SoR3/sor3.html

Pretty handy info.

I think we can say that the US+PAL versions of SoR3 ruined the game.

Pricks.

I'd disagree slightly with the difficulty descriptions though. SoR3 is much harder, not to mention more monotonous, than BK3 due to Sega of America extending all the enemy lifebars.

Also not mentioned there is if you play SoR3 on "Easy" the game won't let you advance past Stage 5, even though you can get to it via cheat.

So to play SoR3 from the beginning to completion you have to play it on a difficulty harder than the original game's "Hard". Gee, thanks SoA!

Another unmentioned difference is a bunch of enemy names got changed, the most obvious being Galsia. He got renamed Garcia, which I can kind of understand but after he was already Galsia in SoR2 it's kinda jarring.

Also in SoR1 it feels to me that the time window you have to hold :dup:+:bbut: (UP+C) to save yourself when thrown is much shorter.

That was really a mistranslation/spelling error on the part of whoever originally chose to call him Galcia.

In the colour edits section of his SoR3 differences he says that Axel in the US/PAL version was recoloured to maybe pay homage to Adam. I think all they really did was edit Axel and give him the colours he used to have in 2 if both players picked him in battle or used the same character code. I think the same goes for Blaze to and maybe Skate.

Nope, Blaze's 2P duel costume in SoR2 was blue. They wanted the colours to be "gender-neutral" despite having absolutely no problem with it in SoR1 or 2.

Ahh yes, i do remember Axel having the Yellow and Black though. I hate the colour pallettes used in the non jp SoR 3 :( they are just so horrible, especially Skate :s
