View Full Version : Controller Vibration: on or off?

Title says it all. Do you prefer to game with Controller Vibration on or off?

Personally I do, because I am so used to it and never cared to turn it off.

Poll: Yes = On, No= Off

I assume yes means on, so I voted that. I never really cared to turn it off either, and I supopse it can be nice to feel some feedback from whatever you're playing. At the very lest ive never seen it as a hindrance.

woops, forgot to put the options as On or Off. Yes = On, No= Off for those who are wondering. :p

I voted Yes. AKA On :p

Couldn't put "On, off, depends on the situation"?

If you're farming or something, like Borderlands for the looting achievements, turn it off.

I don't even know how to turn the vibration off, so its still on.

On. Makes sense if you see something blow up to get some sort of feeling from it, or when you gun recoils.

I always leave it on. It feels weird when my battery is running low and it doesn't vibrate.

"ON" -- the option is there so like to use it is nice to feel some feedback from whatever you're playing....

I voted On. The only time I remember disabling vibration is when I was going for Seriously 3.0, all the idling you have to do, when you're awake and asleep, it just got annoying hearing it vibrate. Funny thing is, I forgot to turn it back on after I already got Seriously 3.0, and didn't enable it until I was playing Superman Returns, and my brother told me it helps to have vibration on when you're going for all 100 cats, because it vibrates when you are near to one. I had completely forgot and never even realized to turn it back on. :p

I've never said to myself 'I'd be playing better if it weren't for this shaky controller!' so I've never shut it off. Like most everyone who has posted so far I enjoy the feedback.

Always on. That's what it's there for.

The only game that I ever turned the vibration off was Call of Duty. I just don't like it when I'm playing multiplayer. I usually have it on with other games, though.

I would say yes, but every time it vibrates my battery holder becomes dislodged or something and turns my controller off. Yeah..

I have taken a liking to turning it off. Not only is it not necessary, it also saves a bit of battery.

It doesn't change the gaming experience, so no need to have it on.

CHIRUNO99
06-27-2012, 07:36 AM
I use a wired pad so batteries aren't an issue, and ever since I've had it on I'm so used to it. It's like direct feedback which allows me to react to any gaming situation better. It's also the reason why I found Dante's Inferno easy on the X360, but impossible on the PSP.

You should turn it off when playing Call of Duty online, you'll play better.

On.

You can't end an opinion based thread. Anyways I suppose the variation comes from both preference and games played. If I played a game where it was vibrating erratically with no good reason, I'd turn it off.

No...it eats battries on wireless controllers and is just plain annoying. A game wont feel more real to me if my controller vibrates cause of an exposion.

EDIT: I do see how it could of helped me with the 100 kittens....damm to late for that now, what a nightmare that was.

Off. I personally think it's annoying as fuck and I don't need it vibrating to immerse me in a game, the sounds do that.

Dumb way to word the poll.. but anyway..

I have to have it off.. For some reason, The shitty Xbox controllers will turn off with vibration enabled for me.. I dont know why, its done it ever since i owned the current gen xbox.. I have 3 different consoles as well and currently have had a slim since 2010 and it still does it lol! Ive tried different controllers as well..

I do like it.. but i can't use it.

Works great on my PS3 controller though.. Really hope MS gives us rechargeable controllers next time and not these controllers with the bulky hump for AA batteries..

I play with no vibration. I feel when playing games like Halo and CoD, the vibration when getting hit throws my shot off. It feels weird for me when I play with vibration on a game now.

I think it was playing as the Siren and shooting roughly 50 rounds a second. Could still feel my hands shaking after playing so I turned that mess off.

Who else said so...wait...noooo! I refuse to agree with that guy.

Why is the poll "yes, no" instead of just "on, off"?

I have mine off, saves a bit of power and doesn't irritate me every time i shoot something.

I never turned off the controller vibration. I'm so use to it that most of the time I don't even notice it. I don't have to worry about my controller battery life because I bought a controller with a charging cable and rechargeable battery pack, I just keep it plugged into the xbox so it's always charged. For me it seems helpful when I'm not paying attention and get attacked then the vibration of the controller will get my attention back into the game.

I never use vibration. What really annoys me is when you sign in XBL guests and those controllers vibrate. I always thought guests should inherit the settings from the main profile since they get no goddamn options of their own.

I prefer it on.

The only trouble is that when I play online and I have the cable plugged in between my X41s and my Onza to chat, for some reason the vibration makes my mic buzz for other folk in the party so I have to switch it off to stop that.

I never really thought to turn it off. It doesn't really phase me one way or the other. The only thing I don't like is if I put down my controller to go to the bathroom or kitchen during a scene or loading screen after awhile something will happen that'll make the controller vibrate. And then the controller is vibrating across the table.

My mom bought the Playstation with the vibrating controller and I just got used to it and never changed. When I did turn it off just to try it I felt awkward and just turned it back on.

I disabled the vibration a few years ago and have been accustomed to it since. It used to distract me from the game.
