Among the things players will be able to modify and customize for their character is their armor, which consists of a multitude of parts.

Some of the parts which have been revealed include the helmet, torso assembly, left and right shoulder plates, forearm plating, leg plating, and visor.

Thanks to GAF user Demoncarnotaur (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=39723550&postcount=6472), we now have a small glimpse of the customizability that Halo 4 offers with screenshots—or rather, photographs of the game—showing off some of the helmets and armor parts that the game has to offer.

There appear to be seven different kinds of helmets in the RTX demo for Halo 4. These include the Warrior, Soldier, Scout, Recon, Hazop (http://www.gameranx.com/updates/id/7890/article/halo-4-armor-and-helmets-detailed/#), Infiltrator, and Orbital helmets. Needless to say, there will be more designs available to players upon the game’s release.

In addition to those models, you’ll also be able to customize your armor’s camouflage texture, so no two players are going to look alike unless they really want to.

Thanks for posting.

Infiltrator and Orbital are appealing to me. I still wish 343i didn't overhaul the whole look of some of these helmets.

Is it just me, or does the Hazop helmet look incredibly sad? Like he just got dumped or something.

Agreed. Who's in charge of these designs? Did they even do any focus groups? I'm guessing not.

seriously, who was in charge of "ok-ing" these freaking helmets? were they blind?
the only one that looks "ok" is the warrior helmet, but thats not saying a whole lot lol

I don't mind the new look for the helmets. I never really cared much for customization to begin with, so it's not such a big deal to me. Now that I'm getting used to the re-design for the Chiefs armor in Campaign, the new armors in multiplayer just seem like they're fitting in with the theme. I really like the Orbital helmet though. Adds a little definition to the generally bland Fishbowl helmet of the past (and the attachment it had in Reach was god awful)

I feel the same way, but if they made the armor and helmets actually look decent, then I might care.

My thoughts for most of them lol

OT: I'll be using the Scout helmet like I always have since Halo 3. ;)

All I have to say is we BETTER be able to get ALL the skins and helmets in the game at some point somehow. I HATE retailer specific DLC stuff that never comes out for everyone.

Halo 3 had the best Helmets. Scout looks decent but all the others do suck

Saw in a video of the flag assasinations of Spartain wearing ODST helmet. Anyone know if there will be armor effects? Loved them from Reach

The only armor effects I want to see...

Are ones that provide stat boosts. I'm sick of unlocking armor that is PURELY AESTETIC. If I want to do that nonsense, I'll go back to playing crappy fighting games with their equally crappy unlocks.

Want to really make each player unique? Make sure armor pieces DO things!

The flight stuff should decrease drain on Jetpack or allow Jetpack to go higher...

The ammo stuff on the shoulders and chest and everywhere else should actually GIVE YOU more ammo with the guns (or more grenades!).

Tac Pads and uplinks and the like should grant you extra zoom or the ability to "spot" enemies for your team.

Etcetera!

This is Halo, I'm tired of playing with Barbies.

I like these ideas and to balance it you would only get the effects if wearing the full suit of the respective armor type.

I also like the helmets! Infiltrator and orbital!

I have a little question. Do I have to send 10 posts in forums to enable My xbox live profile so i can check/see my achievements?

Has someone seen the UNSC shootgun??

I hope it Will be more than one skin to BR

I'm pretty sure it's 5 posts. Make them count though.

The Shotgun is still in the game, dunno if it will have skins like the BR though.

I like these ideas and to balance it you would only get the effects if wearing the full suit of the respective armor type.

Well, the problem with that is... Not everything has a "full suit" to wear. Just going based upon what is in Reach... A good chunk of the stuff doesn't have "full suits" and then there's the "add ons" on the helmets as well.

But perhaps with stuff that have a "full suit" or close to it... The benefits would be near negligable UNLESS wearing the full suit.

Perhaps if wearing only one piece of the "flight" suit or whatever it's called you only get an extra half second. But if you wear it all you get an extra three seconds.

Fishbowl helmet would give you a MUCH BIGGER field of view. Uplinks on helmets would provide a "mini map" to the radar. Upgraded uplinks would perhaps provide elevation details on what is on the motion tracker.

See, I'd like players to be able to CHOOSE how they'd like to play. I'm not talking about some kind of big "advantage" to be gained... I'm talking about minor boosts that simply supplement already existing gameplay elements. Extra ammo doesn't really help you out unless it's for a rocket launcher. Extra shotgun shells after all rarely help someone and almost never come into play (you die way before you ever empty the thing most of the time). Being able to "ping" an enemy to make 'em visible on motion tracker and with a waypoint for three seconds isn't much of a help to your team, but it can be crucial in some places.

I really am sick of playing "dress up". I just want my armor to do interesting things. I don't want you to get BETTER armor at higher levels with BIGGER boosts necessarily... But perhaps armor that later combines some effects or supplements playstyles of intermediate/advanced players more.

Then again, the fanbase would invariably complain just because we were changing Halo again, and they could now be "pwned by nubs" because they weren't considering that they weren't extra powers they were just there to supplement your already existing skills.

In short...

I want a BIT more strategy in the game than "me spawn camp with sniper rifle" or "me corner camp with rockets/shotgun"... Or "me DMR you from across teh map cuz i r haz teh skillz". Adding bonuses to armor worn would add that in. So long as they were only moderate boosts and not substantial.

Well... unless maybe you make it to General and Above... People should get SOME useful rewards for investing their entire freakin' life into a game.

Couldnt Agree more. Besides gameplay itself, what the hell is the Purpose of a Million dollar piece of Armor if it doesn't add any Extra Functionality?

And I know I'm not the only one who Remembers someone at 343 saying the Armor would now have more purpose, so maybe we'll get something like this in the Final Game?

EDIT: I knew I read it somewhere!
