I am going for a gears of war 3 achievement that requires me to sit and click the left thumb stick over and over. I have a gaps pro controller that lets me map the left thumb stick to a button, now I just have to figure out a way to rig it to push constantly over and over because this is going to take DAYS. Any help would be VASTLY appreciated!!
(And I forgot to add, I have no money or ambition to buy a turbo controller-haha).

Can you elaborate? I can't seem to understand what you're saying. Are you wanting a modded controller? If so, I suggest looking elsewhere, as we don't associate with things like that here on this site.

I have no ambition.
We can see this, judging from your question.

There is no other way then to get a turbo controller.

You're totally right I have no ambition. The fact that I don't want to sit there and press a button over and over, and would rather prepare for school and my job at a vet clinic totally makes me a tool. The fact that I'm even going to school, rather than being "ambitious" like you (which by your definition is wasting all day pushing a button for achievements?), is pretty embarrassing huh?

Next time if you don't have something constructive to say, just shut your fucking mouth.

Anyways, to the person that actally HELPED and didn't TRY to insult me for no reason:
the achievement requires you to get a lot of experience to level up. some people on the forums here found a method to make it go faster, and it requires you to push the left thumb stick in (the clicking joystick button that's some games use). I am simply looking for a way to click set up my controller to click a button over and over while I get more important things accomplished. :)

Turbo controller is probably your best bet.

You're probably right. Gotta put some money aside :/

The easiest answer is to get a turbo controller. You can also rig something up to press your button if you're creative.

However... having unlocked Seriously 3.0 myself I can tell you that using an idle method for the Spotter medal is the inefficient way to do it. By that I mean that you have to get 6000 kills with at least 5 different weapons, so if you spot before you kill this medal will come in no time at all.

When I was doing it I would spot one person, down all five enemies, spot & kill, spot & kill, and so on (if someone you spot is killed you can spot again immediately). For each five kills that's six spots. 10,000 kills is all you need.

PS: in the future this question would be better suited for the specific game forum:

EDIT:

I assumed you were talking about Spotter, but I see that you're actually talking about getting your experience up with the Reconnaissance Ribbon. I did very little of that but I did it manually. Just do it while doing something else like watching TV, or in your case, while reading.

You do realize achievements are optional, no one will think less of you if you don't achieve 1000 in Gears of War 3, however people will think less of you when you start insulting others with that kind of language;)

OT: You could always rig something up using household items. I once set up a spring loaded contraption for a game that required a hefty amount of 'A' button pushes, not sure how that would work with the thumbstick though?

Then you shouldn't have posted your "reply" to me.

no offence buddy but you do realise its only an achievement, its not like its going to be the end of your gaming days if you dont get it. and your making yourself a tool by swearing at someone over an achievement. Its pretty pathetic IMO

OT: the only way is a modded controller, unless your a mechanical wizz kid and can load up a spring mechanism

Or you could always get it legit like others did.

im gonna throw something into this discussion, now. it may seem odd at first, but it could work.

anyway on to the answer to all your (current) problems... get a dildo machine. rig it up so the button you want to press is lined up with the 'tip' of the contraption, then securely fasten your controller in place, turn on your new toy, turn the dial so it goes faster(come on, we've all seen em':p) and leave it to go prepare for school or being a vet or whatever.

there are multiple problems with this though, and ill highlight them, so you can make an informed decision;

1. cost. it would be way cheaper to just buy a turbo controller.
2. shame. if you do this, you cant ever, ever, ever, ever, ever tell ANYONE. also, if you do this, you cant undo the fact that you did this.
3. time. if you did buy one, i cant imagine you would get it at your local wal-mart/asda, so you will be getting it from a 'specialist' on the internet. you could probably get the button pressing done manually before the bloody thing even arrived.

DISCLAIMER: this was a joke. do not under any circumstances use a sexual aid in your venture for achievements and recognition from your fellow achievement hunters. its sick...:p

I just built myself a simple little pneumatic piston driver...Sure it has crushed some controllers (Have to keep the air PSI set WAY down), but it worked...

If its possible to hold the "A" button with it doing the same job then wrap an elastic band around it, worked for me when trying to get the royal flush hand in a poker game on my other gt.

There is no Xbox One turbo controllers yet so that isn't an option and I already tried to use my 360 wired controller and it blinked once and wouldn't turn back on. I don't have one of drinking birds and none of the vibrators in my house are that advanced. Has anyone tried one of the drinking birds I don't think it would be strong enough to press the button. I know the guy that brought up the vibrator was joking but he had the most reasonably idea of anyone here lol. Also if I ever did rig a vibrator to press buttons on an Xbox controller I would definitely brag about it because I have no shame.

Wow, very insightful. Especially for a thread that was over a year since the last reply.

I've done this as well, or using a hair tie would both work

You do realize everybody never talked about the Xbox One on this thread, right?
