DLC released on October 6, 2012

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1994/UP5sH8I=.jpg All Is Gold- 20 :gsicon:
Receive gold medals in all the Paine Island tracks and skill games.

There are a total of 31 tracks in the Origins of Pain DLC:

2 Beginner
3 Easy
9 Medium
7 Hard
3 Extreme
5 Tournaments (Various Difficulties) [NOT necessary for the achievement]
2 Skill Games

You will need to get a Gold medal on all the tracks, Extreme obviously being the hardest. There is a good amount of room for error however, and magic marker will definitely be the hardest for most people. Below are linked videos for the 4 hardest gold medals, just click the title to be taken to the video.

Magic Marker (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyRAO1xpbx8&feature=channel&list=UL)
Uphill Struggle (Skill Game) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlUHyEa7GQk&feature=channel&list=UL)

Also, there a thread by forum member "l Zleek l", that has an in-depth tutorial for many of the extreme levels, linked HERE (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=390751).

Practice makes perfect for this achievement here, and forming good strategies with a lot of patience will eventually get you the achievement. Good Luck!

Wheelie through the Nuthouse in track “Carnival of Rust”

Probably the hardest achievement in the DLC pack. This can be accomplished on any of the bikes that can hold a wheelie [Gecko, Phoenix, Scorpion]. Players have mixed results with the bikes, but personally, I've found that the Phoenix is the best and easiest to use for this achievement, although all are valid options. You will need a lot of patience and practice for this achievement. As for tips, make sure to feather the gas and don't always go full throttle. You can lean back with a little throttle to really get that front wheel up. Also, for the last jump, you will basically have to land almost at a 90 degree angle with your back tire so that you don't slam down.

Good luck!

Do the most epic slam dunk ever.

Choose:
Skill Games - Uphill Struggle

Now from the start you will need to get on the platform behind you. Go forward onto the ramp ahead, and let your bike roll down backwards to gain enough momentum to make the small gap. Once you get on the platform, it will begin to move backwards. Once it reaches the end, you bill see a hanging ball. Press :ybut: to bail off your bike, towards the ball, and then hold :ybut: to grab a hold of it. Once you do, your character will begin to fly to the top of the hill. Just control him making sure to land on the very top of the hill where the basketball is located. You do not need to score. Once the fireworks set off, the achievement will unlock.

Complete track “Back to the Attic” with the Gecko 520.

You will need to unlock the track “Back to the Attic” in “Paine Island”. Once you do this, you will need to complete the track using the new Gecko 520 bike. This track is doable using this bike as it is quite fast and nimble, although a little tough to control. Just take your time and watch the video for checkpoint tips. Once you complete it (with any medal) you will get the achievement.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1994/UP9qAnk=.jpg A Winner is You!- 10 :gsicon:
Get a platinum medal on a Paine Island track. Just one. Come on, you can do it!

This achievement isn't too bad although you will need to have some skill at the game. I recommend going for a Platinum while playing the beginner and easy tracks. The easiest track, in my opinion, is Cauldron Trail (Down and Dirty), which you will need to do under about 31.800 seconds. A video of that track can be viewed below:

Another option is the Advanced Degree Tournament and the Cannon Skill Game.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1994/UPxFXdU=.jpg The Squirrels Have Rabies- 20 :gsicon:
Those sneaky squirrels are squeaking again. Can you find all the new squirrels on Paine Island?

There are 10 total squirrels that you will need to collect for this achievement. Finding a squirrel will show achievement progression. Once you find them all, the achievement unlocks.

The level names and where they can be located in the video are listed below:

Pass the Adrenaline Degree Tournament with flying colors

Choose:
Tournaments 2 – Advanced Degree (Medium)

This is a very easy tournament and only involves 2 tracks, which last a little over one minute. I recommend using the Phoenix 250cc. The requirements aren't very specific, but you will need to do well, and get a Silver medal (or better) on the tournament. Once you complete the tournament, you will receive the achievement, and you can view the video below for more information:

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1994/s999.jpg Secret Ops- 10 :gsicon:
Finish ‘Recon Rider’ while wearing something suitable, without faulting.

First off, you will need to equip the “Ghost Recon Helmet” in the garage under “My Rider”. Once you equip this helmet, choose the “Recon Rider” track in “Paine Island”. Any bike is ok, but the Scorpion is most stable under medium track circumstances. Just complete the track without any faults, and you will gain this achievement. The track should take around 40 seconds, and you can restart if you fault at any point.

For Advanced Degree I got a silver with 2 faults and 1:18 and it still gave me the achievement. So you don't even need gold much less platinum.

Also, on the "Hey Mom Look at Me" achievement it would be helpful to know that if you touch your front wheel down the clown will laugh at you. Its helpful when your front wheel gets really close and your not sure if it touched down or not.

The Skill Game Hill Climb is impossible to gold!! Grrrrrrr

Difficulty 4/10 is a little generous, this DLC is a lot harder than the main game, all golds is brutal, especially skill games, and the wheely achievement is chaos. More a 6 or 7/10 IMO.

This is what I wrote:
Go forward onto the ramp ahead, and let your bike roll down backwards to gain enough momentum to make the small gap.

If you're good enough, you can take almost your entire bike off the ramp, only leaving your back tire, and get super momentum when rolling backwards. I hope that makes sense!

I can get over there easily now, but now I can't get the achievement. I've went over and past the hoop I don't know how many times. Apparently hitting something messes up your afterburner or whatever so you have to do it again and again. Already tried 30+ times.

God I hate little mini-game type things in every game ever... they are so annoying.

Don't go past the hoop. Hit the hoop and have your character land in the little area.

Nevander

I finally did it but holy hell it's picky. I was behind the hoop by an inch, didn't unlock. I was ON the hoop, didn't unlock. I landed directly in front of it and fell down, THEN it unlocks.

If you come close to the hoop you should get it IMO.

My tip: make sure to know when the top is coming and also make sure to instantly pull back and up on the stick so that you can correct for over-compensation. Under-compensation cannot be corrected lol...

Alright, so I've made good progress with this guide now.

I won't be updating it until tomorrow, but hopefully there's enough information here for most people to get most of the achievements!

Also, squirrel video is up!

Thanks!

As of now I need only 3 more.. For the wheelie achievement I'm undecided on what bike to use. I've been using the Scorpion and have gotten close a few times. Also the extreme tracks for the DLC are challenging for me especially the marker track. Nice guide so far.

That wheelie one is a right pain in the arse.

I'm going to keep trying for a bit but if I can't do it then I'll wait for a guide or go download some custom tracks made for doing wheelies so I can practice. What makes this hard as hell though is that there are several jumps you must do while doing a wheelie.

My last achievement for 500:gsicon: too. :(

I agree with evokazz 4/10 is extremely generous I would say the dlc achievements in Evo look harder or just as hard as anything in HD. I would peg the dlc at a minimum of 6/10 for most people it will be 10/10. I think I'l get Marathon before I ever get good enough to gold those extreme tracks. This guide will be great help for every other achievement however thank you!

Evo Kazz
10-07-2012, 09:05 AM
Well after trying the wheelie one for hours and still dont have it, trust me 4/10 is way off. More like an 8/10 I would mark it as, I see potential for people being flukey and getting it, there's no skill involved here, it's just pure chaos lol.

10-07-2012, 09:37 AM
4/10 is a total joke - getting gold on all the extreme tracks for one of the achievements is a 9 or 10 all by itself. Just because (I assume) you're some kind of Trials god who is able to get these easily doesn't mean most people will be able to. Its meant to be an indication for the average gamer, and 4/10 with 2-4 hours makes it sound like its very easy. Very few people will ever full score this DLC.

Other than that though, nice guide.

thisispreston
10-07-2012, 10:47 AM
yeh deffo 4/10 is waaaay too low, easily 7 or 8. 6 at bare minimum i'd say and i would consider myself an above average trials player. for a lot of people this will be 10/10 just because of having to get gold on 3 extreme tracks.

Great guide mate. Sorry I wasn't around to help!

For 'Hey Mom, Look At Me!' the best and only bike that will get you through this is the Gecko. The nuthouse is the building you enter right at the end (should see some "nuthouse" letters above it). The good thing about it is there's a checkpoint right outside and on the floor in front of you is a think red line. So if you bail, just hit :bbut:.

Think of this as the starting point, so make sure you're doing a wheelie before you cross it. The best I've managed to get up to is the final slope. The first slope you fast is the hardest. Your best bet to doing this is to simply keep moving and don't stop.

Tap :abut: to keep the wheelie and is you lean too far back, this is the only time you should slow down, but during this you should be between little jumps, so you can change your posture to help.

Also a nice little thing you should add to the description. After you cross the red line, if at any point you hear a evil clown like laugh, it means your front tyre has touched the floor and you must restart from the checkpoint. So listen out for it.

For "All Is Gold" it lists 36 events needed a gold medal are the tournaments included? I also can't seem to find 5 tracks on the DLC. My medal count is 31 I see 8 events listed and I've completed every track in them. What am I not seeing??

Trendin
10-07-2012, 12:35 PM
I agree with the people above me. The extreme tracks to most people are really hard to gold even with the number of faults you can have . Plus with that wheelie achievement I think it should be 8/10. I can get those things gold it's just going to take a hour for each track minimum.

EDIT- I just finished two of the extreme tracks gold fairly quickly. The only one that is very challenging is the magic marker one. The parts of the track that keep screwing me up are the ones where you have to jump from a line up to a another (One is almost going straight up and the other one is pretty flat).

10-07-2012, 12:44 PM
I found the platinum very easy to attain on the cannon mini game, you need under 5.000m. On the 2nd and 3rd shot make sure to bail 3 quarters of the way through the 2nd flip. You'll have more than enough momentum.

The wheelie one seems easier on the Gecko, I haven't attained the achievement yet but from some trying before bed last night.

Bunny hop on first jump to hit top of ramp then slow down, bunny hop again to hit the ramp halfway up and accelerate to the end, I kept messing up near the end, just listen out for the clowns laugh.

Also the new extreme tracks are easier than previous extremes.

I beg to differ. The Phoenix worked much better for me. The Gecko is too finicky to handle the last hump ;)

Another easy way to get the platinum metal achievement is to do the first mini game (the cannon one) you have to be within 5meters for your end score, but with a little bit of practice you should get it no problem, I did it after about 8 trys.

I've updated the roadmap to note the higher difficulty and time. I've also updated some of the other solutions to make them fit better.

I'll continue to work on the guide across the next few days.

I was trying with the Phoenix but I couldn't even get past the first incline. The Scorpion and Gecko worked the best for me. I eventually got it with the Gecko after around 20 minutes of trying.

I think it's one of those achievements where there really isn't a "guide" for it. You just got to keep trying until you get lucky and get it.

I've updated the roadmap to note the higher difficulty and time. I've also updated some of the other solutions to make them fit better.

The DLC achievements are much harder than the original ones. So I think it should be 9+/10 considering that the main guide has 8/10 difficulty. "All is Gold" makes it 11/10 for me.

L1E
10-08-2012, 09:46 PM
All Gold takes a hell of a lot of time and effort unless you are already a Trials expert. 6/10 is way underestimating the difficulty IMO. For comparison, Trials HD has a difficulty of 10/10, and Trials Evolution (Excluding DLC) has a difficulty of 8/10. You're telling me that this DLC is much easier than both Trials HD and Evolution? Then why is it that I've completed both of those without too much effort, but don't have a shot in hell of completing this DLC without hours and hours of practice? I just don't understand your logic for the difficulty. Maybe it's easy for you because you seem very good, but for the average player, this is just not a 6/10.

andami
10-09-2012, 09:20 PM
I don't think anyone completed Trials HD with minimal effort, so no need for exaggeration. I agree this DLC is more of a 7, maybe an 8, but it is nowhere near HD's difficulty.

Not exaggerating, it wasn't very difficult for me, but that's beside the point.

I would agree to an 8. I just think that this difficulty rating should be something on par with the other games, not lower.

Then again, the rating is completely subjective, so whatever. Just voicing my opinion.

Agreed, hd was ok once the Marathon achievement was changed. Im ok at the game but I cant see how anything lower than 9/10 makes sense. A tiny % of ppl are gonna max this game now, and of those that do its gonna take them a very long time.

I used the Gecko and tried to bounce my way there and not take too long trying to feather and steady. I got very lucky though because my wheel touched down right at the finish line.

See this happened to me yesterday, but it didn't unlock!

Only issues I'm having is the last sloped ramp after you fall from the hanging platforms. The force and speed, just slams the front wheel down, or if you're holding back, you flip and bail.

Only part I just can't get right or it just doesn't work. Everything else, I can do after many practices because luck in this game is hard to come by!

It was funny because right before I got the achievement, about thirty or so attempts back this happened to me, except my wheel touched probably an inch from the finish line. I was pissed but felt better knowing that I have gotten closer. I just kept at it and got it that same night.

This is the only achievement I didn't end up getting day one of me having the DLC. Got everything but this on 10/6 and just got this on 10/10.

I've been rotating between the Pheonix, Gecko, and Scorpion every 500 faults. I'd have to say I like the Gecko the least, it's just way too sensitive. I'm up to like 2,000 faults attempting that achievement and can't make any progress. To be honest I don't see it happening.

A difficulty rating of 10 or 9 sounds good in my opinion. 6 is way too low (none of the regular Trials Evo achievements even come close to getting gold on Magic Marker which has a brutally low fault requirement, hence it should not be lower than 8). The wheelie achievement is no pushover either.

The marathon achievement from Trials HD isn't hard in this sense, it just requires extreme consistency.

Any tips on how to pass the second big jump in Magic Marker, the one where we land on a long, steep slope? I've only passed the obstacle twice (by fluke). When I clear the jump (which doesn't happen often), I barely manage to land on the very bottom of the slope without any room to adjust/stabilize the bike, so I just bounce back. I haven't been able to replicate the moves from replays either.

Best way I can explain it is to start from the checkpoint spot, then floor it and push forward then try to do a bunny hop right at the top of the ramp you are on. If done right, you can usually make it up there either first try or within a couple faults.

Hardest thing about gold on that track is getting all the way to the last jumps, those hops, and then keep messing up there. My first gold I got 15 faults... lol.

The only way I've been able to pass it consistently is the following:

This is using the Gecko.

From the checkpoint, adjust your rider so he is leaning back
Slowly roll up to the slope/ramp until you are in the "bend" of the ramp. Stop so your rider is sort of resting at the bend.
Slowly throttle up until you are at the top of the ramp, making sure not to lift your front tire. Near the top of the ramp, gas it hard and
bunny hop over the gap (:dleft: :dright:)
push forward when you land while feathering the gas
slowly gas it to crawl up the slope

Great guide thanks :)

However I'm having real trouble getting the Dry Dock squirrels, I've got into the cart the way I've seen in your and other videos loads of times but then it won't move.
It's really starting to bug me, heh, what makes it all the worse is that it's my last achievement and I've not had any trouble with the other squirrels.

EDIT: Done :) Tried using the Scorpion and it unlocked after just a couple of tries.

Noticed you got this. But for the Dry Dock squirrel, I was able to get it just by backing straight up braking and just "crashing" so I get dumped on the edge of the cart. Then I was able to work myself into the cart when I was down. Much easier then having to get enough momentum to make it in the cart.

Every time I tried to wiggle into the cart just resulted in me flailing around in the cart. It wasn't until I was able to get my back tire over the railing right next to the cart. Then I fell into the cart and after a few seconds it started to move. Took quite a while to get enough momentum to be able to pop over.

Hm... I never got enough momentum to get my back tire over the rail even once. So finally I gave up and just tried to see what would happen without the momentum. I tried to dump myself into the cart and it worked. Now that I recall, I may have tried another time before and got the cart to actually move without me being in it, but no squirrel popped that time.

I may try again to see if I can recreate this.

Maybe I missed it but I just saw one mention of the Adrenaline Cannon? For the third jump about where should I launch from? The closest I've gotten to Gold was 90ft.
God dammit. Was coming here to say nevermind because I thought I had it. Off by 1ft.

All is Gold. Thanks to me for figuring this out.

This one is seriously pissing me off. I've got up about 30x now. About 5 I didn't quite clear the last rail and seemed to run out of steam. 7 or 8 I've flown right past. Another 7 or 8 I've landed in the area but the ball kept going too far. A few more the ball hit the hoop but I landed short of the gate. I've had 2 that looked perfect but didn't pop the achievement, and around 5 others that seemed like they should have been good enough.

Are you releasing the ball? I already got this achievement, but tried it again for fun. I landed right on the basket and was trying to manipulate myself in front of the basket to drop the ball in. I couldn't so I just gave up and released the ball. I got the fireworks which means I would have gotten the achievement I think.

For adrenaline canon, I read some advice here. Forgot from who but was really effective.
1st Jump - Launch 80 degrees, after 1 second bail.
2nd Jump - Launch 80 degrees, after 0.5 second bail.
3rd Jump - Launch 80 degrees, after 0.1 second bail.
If done correctly, you'll overshoot your mark everytime so you can just adjust.

Also it's possible to get a super negative record launching yourself the other way. lol

Squirrel 6/10 - Dry Docks:
You actually don't have to get that "lucky bounce" as described in the video. Just lean back, bail into the minecart and it starts moving.

Just got it this way. ;)
