Just been in to a local gameshop here in the good old U.K asking whether they sell 360's due to mine being near death, and the guy told me just this morning that a new batch of premiums came in and they now have a HDMI port and the 65mm "Falcon" chipset :woop: He showed me the box which has HDMI written on the sides. Their selling it for 250 and chucking blue dragon in for free. This is great news for someone like me who needs a new 360, wants HDMI, but can't afford or dosent want the elite :)

Yes on the frontpage news it says play.com are selling premiums for 199, they are obviously selling off the the 'older and unreliable' 360s because retailers are getting this new one as described above in stock.

Yeah it's a bit off a pisstake really, i would have got one of them if i didnt know about this one, and i would have been gutted if i bought it and then found out a newer version was already available.

Is there really any way to tell if you have the new hardware without opening them up?

SKU lot number 734 I believe. That would be the only way to tell before you purchase one. If you have it I believe you can do the "flashlight test".

Excellent. I may sell my 360 to a friend and pick up the improved one. Since it is a smaller processor, does it effect game performance at all?

Nope, it doesn't affect game play at all. Just a better built piece of hardware for reliability.;)

While you're selling yours, I'll be trading mines in. After going through 2 dead/fried 360's, I need these new chipsets in my console!

Well my 360 is going to be breaking quite soon it's already showing the signs. So I plan to send my 360 in to get fixed and go buy a new one as soon as it breaks. When I get my other one back I'll just sell it =)
