So, I'm racing in PGR3, in first place nonetheless. And boom, another damn freeze. I've been having a lot of freezing problems for about the last week or so. So as usual I get up and press the power off button then power it back on. Now all I got is some red lights. I call support, they suggest removing the hdd and trying it again. Same thing. So in like 3 or 4 days I am going to get some box to send my unit back in and then have it back within a few more. They said the turn around time is 10 business days.

With as big of a company as Microsoft is, and as rich as they are, why can't they have a hot swap policy? Or some type of exchange with Best Buy since they are the official distributor?

What happened with yours? Similiar red flashing lights? Microsoft said the code I have (two on the left side, and one on the bottom right) is a general hardware failure. The codes are spit out on the lights that normally show your controller ports connection.

I was ok with sending it back to Microsoft. I phoned them on a Wednesday, and then had mine back the next Wednesday. Oh yeah, they don't send yours back, you get a refurbished one.

im only on my 4th. got it dec 12, 1st one lasted till april 5, 2nd didnt last more then a week, 3rd lasted 3 weeks, and now my 4th seems to be fine

or so i think

I solved my problem. I went and bought a core at best buy. Now I am using my hot spare. The hard drive replacement is a sinch. The fans in the back seem to spin higher (thus blowing out more air) than my original one so I think it either had a temperature sensor go bad or a fan failure.

That really sucks, I would be pissed if I was on my 4th.

Gotta say though, at least M$ will just ship you out a new one with the quickness.

yea, and i don't think it'll be long before they get all the hardware bugs worked out...I think I heard multiple stories of the original xboxes having troubles also at launch. The games are getting good and there only going to get better as time goes on.
