Snurga
lol yea so i changed my motto to "wtf_Microsoft?serusly" and after tweeking with it for a little bit i found out that it wasnt the "wtf" that kept making the thing pop up stating it was inapropriate, instead it was "Microsoft"... so i changed my O's to something relevant to an O and yea,. but still wtf, why is "Microsoft" not allowed in a motto???? weird huh go ahead and try it, if you dont believe me... Magooush
They probably just don't want people making their motto something like, "Microsoft sucks."

Maka
Halo 3, along with Baltimore are both banned words for I see almost no reason... Why they do it, I dont know, but to each his own.
Andrew x360a
"Microsoft" might be banned for the same reason that "Support" is banned -- to make it harder for someone to pose as an official Microsoft representative or support personnel. That's the only reasons I can think of.
D3AD FR3D
Being in the military, I wanted my motto to be Support Our Troops, but it would not allow me to do it. I ended up putting my motto as Spread The Gospel. I am just curious as to why it would not let me put Support Our Troops?
Tussell
Probably like, Microsoft Support Team or Microsoft Support Member, stuff along those lines.

D3AD FR3D
Well a while back I put XBL ADMN in my motto for laughs and it was ridiculous how many people asked me for support help and tried to report cheaters?

Try "Salute the Troops" or something. And is that true about "Baltimore" being banned? Oo
D3AD FR3D
I am curious as to why Baltimore would be banned? I have tried to think of something, but nothing is coming to mind. Maybe the secrets of MS are in Baltimore:eek:
C Rocket
Don't create a gamertag or motto that other users may be offended by, this includes ... illegal drugs/controlled substances ... That's from the Code of Conduct. Perhaps Baltimore is banned because it's so synonymous with illegal drugs - MS employees have been watching too much of "The Wire". jackanape
Any company running an online service (such as LIVE) can't strictly monitor everything that goes on, but they do have to put in place a code of conduct to protect their own interests and stop them being left open to any potential lawsuits. Hence why any terms that may be copyrighted (Halo?) or lead to controversy are banned from being put on there. It's basically MS covering their own arse.
