Do you guys think that Crysis will ever make it to the xbox360? If it ever made it to the xbox360 do you think it would be the greatest first person shooter ever to grace the system? and do you think that It would be almost as graphically excellent as the pc version?

I hear ya. Possibly if they put a multi core processor and a much better graphics card in the next xbox it will be able to handle it. Do you think the Cell processor and the bluray capability of the ps3 could handle that game now?

The Cell's architecture is a nightmare to work in. I doubt a PS3 version will ever come to be.

never heard of it

wat do u do i it?

The problem with putting Crysis on consoles doesn't lie with the processor, graphics card nor disk storage, it's merely a matter of RAM. Both consoles could run a cut-down version without fuss, but it won't be the proper "Crysis experience".

We'll probably see something akin to Far Cry Instincts Predator, and we all know how shit that was compared to the PC version.

I doubt the 360 would be able to handle it. You have to have a top of the line-top of the line setup to run that beast of a game.

Not exactly. The mac mini reaches the minimum specs except for one area, graphics card.

You need a top of the line graphics card the rest of the minimum specs are decidedly mid range. Of course the recommended specs are all top of the line tho.

Actually, the GPU is the central problem to Crysis. There is no card on the market that can handle Crysis at full specs on Vista and that's a fact. The game was created before the hardware that could run it is even out.

Quote from IGN review:

On our Vista test machine with a quad core processor, 4GB RAM, and a single 8800 GTX, we had some pretty significant slowdowns with everything on very high everywhere but the most confined spaces.
Bolded a part that I thought was fairly significant. The EVGA 8800GTX runs around 550 bucks on newegg. From what I understand, even the 8800 Ultra doesn't do it and from others I've read. So really, the GPU inside the 360 is probably mid range compared to what's out right now. As Highpass stated, ditto with the RAM. The console isn't built for it. The technology for PC can't even handle full Crysis. Apparently there will be a new IP from Crytek though. We'll probably see something amazing but not Crysis amazing.

Here's gamespot testing everything out with frames per second:

Wow......I just clicked 'Download the Demo' button on the site, and my whole computer froze, wow.......My computer is a piece of shit.

Obviously. I did the same thing and I played the demo for a little but it keeps stuttering at the lowest possible setting. Sucks. guess i will have to upgrade if i really want to get the full experience.

I played the demo on Medium settings and didn't have any problems with it really. Just a little slow-down here and there, but nothing too bad.

Maybe if we got a port to the 360 with lower graphical settings? Think that would make a difference?

To be totally honest with you when I played it on Medium I still thought the graphics were amazing. :p

Not getting at you or anything, but you think you could possibly provide a source for that info?

Thanks in advance. ;)

Hehe Yeah thats fine. I heard about this via a friend (yes I know a "Generic Friend"), But he did tell me time, and time again that it was coming out on the 360. So I don't think I should have picked the exact words I did. But I'm entrusting that they will. So when he gets on Team Speak I will ask him if he can acquire any source for it. But here is a website that I use, which does say a bit about it.

No, those are screens and there is hardly any hardware that can run Crysis on very high (Vista). You can mess around with files and have very high on XP, but you need some really great hardware. Most people who run on high (not very high) smoothly use 1 8800 GTX, Intel Quad Core, and 3GB of RAM. So that's not too bad. Only around 1000 bucks or so. Some use a 8800 Ultra in place of the GTX. A big step up in terms of cash though.

Here is a similar article with a company quote that says it's not true.

We hope we aren't disappointing anyone, but contrary to any rumours that may be in circulation, neither Crytek nor any third parties are currently engaged in developing Crysis for console platforms. Our company's sole focus at this time is to complete Crysis for PC as well and as quickly as possible, so we can release it in a timely fashion to all who have shown such a strong interest in playing our game, while insuring we meet the high quality of game play they have come to expect.

It's not coming to the 360. They'll probably just create a new IP.
